Judge – Mrs Jane Eyeington (Meadowdale)
I would like to thank the officers and committee for their kind invitation to judge at this friendly and well-run show. It was unfortunate that the weather forecast predicted high temperatures on the day, which understandably led to a high absentee rate—a real shame. I very much enjoyed the day, with some lovely hounds present. A huge thank you to all the exhibitors for the pleasure of judging your wonderful dogs.
Veteran Dog (2,1)
1. Mrs Allchorne - Nelgus Thyme Flies ShCEX
7 year old Red & White dog, full of breed type and substance. He presents a beautifully balanced outline on the stack, his pleasing head showing parallel planes, a low set ear, lean foreface of good length and a kind, gentle eye. Good length of neck, to a well developed front and standing on well boned limbs, would just prefer feet a little tighter. He shows a lovely spring to the ribcage and tight elbows. He holds a firm, unwavering topline at all times, supported by strong, wide quarters and short hock to heel. A joy to watch in profile as he drives around the ring with purpose, not quite as tidy behind today, but clean in front. – RBD & Best Veteran in Show
Special Beginner Dog (1,0)
1. Mrs Cooper - Houndsbay Vito Andolini
Coming up to four years of age, this tri dog is a hound of good substance. He has a masculine head with lozenge-shaped eyes, low-set ears, and depth to the flews, giving a typically calm but serious expression. His neck is strong and of moderate length. I liked his ribbing and well-developed forechest. His topline was just a fraction soft today. He stands on well-boned limbs ending in large, well-knuckled feet. His rear is pleasing, with good width of thigh and a well-developed bum. A steady mover. Sympathetically handled to get the best out of him.

1. Mr & Mrs Jones - Clanwillow Love And Dreams
Quality 9-month-old tri dog who displays excellent overall balance and proportions when stacked. His head developing nicely, planes are slightly divergent, low-set fine ears, and a clean, well-shaped eye of good colour, giving a gentle expression. He has a well-developed prosternum and a brisket that is well let down, with elbows neatly fitting to the sides. He shows strong bone in his limbs and tight feet. Holding a firm, level topline and carries his stern well. I particularly liked his wide quarters and low-set hocks, which he used to drive around the ring with a parallel action. BPD & BPIS

1. Mr & Mrs Lane - Goldenessence Deep Impact Over Lanebern (Imp PRT)
Striking 20-month-old blanket tri hound, predominantly black. He presents a strong yet shapely outline when standing, with a pleasing flow through his neck and topline. His headpiece is well balanced, showing equal proportions of skull to foreface, a slight stop, low-set velvety ears, and a dark eye. He has a good length of neck with a slight arch that transitions smoothly into a firm and well-held topline. He displays good bone and ground clearance, yet retains depth to the ribcage. Not quite as tidy going away, but shows a pleasing side gait.
2. Mr & Mrs Beckett - Beckshounds Bronco Billy
Masculine and attractive two-year-old tri dog, notable for his substance and strong bone. His masculine head features parallel planes, a slight stop, long fine ears neatly curling inward, and good depth to the flews, all contributing to his kind and gentle expression. He has admirable ribbing and depth without sacrificing ground clearance. Not quite the front assembly of the winner but displays a firm topline and a well-set, well-carried tail. He held his outline well on the move in the side gait.

1. Mr & Mrs Jones - Clanwillow Fire And Ice JW
Very smart 2 year old blanket tri dog who shows himself with great deportment and style. When stood he presents a balanced hound, with good substance, ground clearance and a lovely flow through neck and topline. Masculine head with a kind dark eye, fine leathers of good length framing his face. I liked his depth of brisket and well developed forechest. He holds a firm, level topline both stood and on the move, finishing in a well carried stern. Stands on well boned limbs and nice tight feet. Pleasing to watch on the move as he keeps his outline in profile, with parallel width behind, neat and tidy front. Delighted to award him BD & BIS
2. Miss Gambling - Dizandra Carpe Noctem
Three-year-old broken tri dog of a different type to the winner, with a little more substance throughout yet still sufficient ground clearance. He has a masculine head of good proportions, depth to the flews, and low-set, slightly flatter ears. I liked his front assembly, with a decent forechest, strong bone, and good ribbing. He holds a firm topline both standing and on the move. His hindquarters are wide and muscular, with well-let-down hocks. He moved out cleanly.

1. Mrs McLean - Lauralee Dreams Of Magic At Stookewood
Super 15 month old red & white bitch. This youngster caught my eye for her overall balance and flowing outline. Decidedly feminine, with no mistaking her gender, yet carrying the desired substance throughout. She has an appealing head, well proportioned with parallel planes, a nicely shaped backskull and lean foreface, with depth to the flew; her expression enhanced by a dark, well shaped eye. Her strong, slightly arched neck flows into a firm, level topline and a well carried stern. I liked her depth of brisket and prominent prosternum, together with a good ribcage carried well back and elbows sitting tight. Muscular, well rounded quarters, though a fraction longer from hock to heel. A free and positive mover, showing a lovely profile action. Just a little unsettled in the final challenge, so had to settle for BB & RBIS.
2. Miss Unett - Harvidene Breaking Dawn
Another promising 15-month-old red and white bitch with much to admire. Her overall size and substance are complemented by distinct femininity. She possesses a refined head, lean in the foreface, with a dark, tight eye and low-set ears. Her neck is of good length, flowing into a well-filled forechest, tight elbows, and a chest set neatly in the crook. Her topline and tail carriage were not quite that of the winner's. She is well developed through the ribcage and shows decent hindquarters. She moved freely and cleanly in all directions, though just lacked some drive today.

1. Miss Unett - Harvidene Cuckoo In The Nest
Two-year-old tri bitch with good body and bone, though carrying a touch too much weight for my preference. She has a nicely balanced head with parallel planes, a slight stop, and fine, nicely curled ears, with just the right amount of flew and dewlap. Her neck is moderate, leading to a well-developed prosternum and forelegs set well under her. Her topline is a little soft, but she has a well-sprung ribcage carried well back. She moved true in action, though she just lacked a little enthusiasm.
2. Mrs Allchorne - Nelgus Lucky Charm
It's unfortunate that this three-year-old tri bitch was unsettled and did not show herself to advantage. When standing in profile, her outline was impressive, and I initially thought she would be my winner. She has a lovely flow to her outline, with a good neck and a firm topline finishing in a well-set tail. However, she was unsettled today, which affected her expression and general demeanour. She did not fully cooperate on the move, making things difficult for her handler.
Limit Bitch (4,3)
1. Mrs Mclean - Switherland Gabriella At Stookewood
Smart five-year-old red and white bitch who can lose her topline slightly when stacked but comes together on the move to present a lovely outline. She is a pleasure to go over, full of hound quality, with a pretty headpiece showing parallel planes and a slight stop. Her lozenge-shaped eyes are dark in colour with little haw visible. Her ears are fine, of good length, and curl inward to frame her face. She has a strong, slightly arched neck of good length, a deep brisket with a prominent prosternum, and elbows that fit tightly, strong bone and tight feet. On the move, she settles and her topline levels out, presenting a pleasing outline. She did not quite have the animation of her younger kennel mate today, but true fore and aft. RBB
