Judge – Mrs Jane Eyeington (Meadowdale)

I would like to thank the officers and committee for their kind invitation to judge at this superb show. It was exceptionally well run, with generously sized rings and plenty of space for everyone in the tenting area. My sincere thanks also go to all the exhibitors for venturing out on a workday. It was an honour to have the opportunity to go over your wonderful dogs.

1st Place 1783 - Snow Roses Cinnamon (Imp Nld) (Ms S & Mr E Pawson & Mantle)

Delightful 7-month-old bitch who presents a balanced and typical outline when standing, though she shows a touch of terrier stubbornness on the move! She has a feminine head with good foreface length and a correct bite. Her body is developing nicely, showing decent depth and spring of rib, leading to a well-set tail. I would just prefer a little straighter tail carriage.

1st Place 1782 - Ch Whooperhill Sand Dollar with Ornella JW (Mr L & Mrs D Bettis)

A super 19-month-old dog who displays himself with confidence and style. He boasts an impressive outline with correct proportions and exudes true breed type. His masculine head features well-placed ears and dark, round eyes that convey a keen and alert expression. He has a good length of neck leading to a firm topline and a well-set, well-carried tail. His forechest is nicely developed, with a broad chest and well-boned limbs. Strong hindquarters provide the propulsion to drive powerfully around the ring. Presented in lovely harsh textured jacket. 1st Place 1785 - Afterglow's Golden Ticket (Imp Usa) (Ms Sa & Mr E & Mrs L Pawson Mantle & Mantle & Inman Lee)

Attractive 2-year-old dog who possesses a pleasing outline with correct proportions and a lovely flow from nose to tail. He has an appealing head and an alert demeanour. His neck is of good length, leading to a firm, level topline and a well-set, well-carried tail. I would prefer a little more ribbing and overall strength to complete the picture. He used his strong hindquarters to great effect on the move, driving powerfully around the ring while maintaining his outline. Presented in a good, harsh jacket. RBOB

Class 965. Puppy - Entries: 2 Absentees: 0

1st Place 1790 - Verumamicus Lord Falcor of Brakemill (Mrs J A Curtis)

Superb 9-month-old cream dog, I loved him. While he still has some maturing to do, his abundant showmanship and confident presence made him impossible to overlook. He has an excellent head, exhibiting both length and strength, with prick ears that are well placed and attractively furnished. His dark brown eyes have a touch of mischief. The slight crest in his long neck flows seamlessly into a firm topline and a well-set tail. Beneath his coat, he is a dog of substance, with well-boned limbs and strong hindquarters. He is a delight to watch on the move, displaying beautiful lines, excellent balance, and a combination of reach and drive. BP & BOB & Puppy Group 4

2nd Place 1795 - Verumamicus Fenja Plume (Mrs C A Parker)

Grey bitch and litter sister to the winner. She possesses many fine qualities, though she is not quite as finished as her brother as yet. However, time is on her side. When standing, she displays good overall balance and proportions. She has a lovely head with the desired feminine strength, a good length of neck, and a firm topline. Her body is developing nicely, with a good ribcage and strong hindquarters. She moves cleanly in all directions, though not her brothers drive today.

1st Place 1792 - Skyeshire Princess Ann (Mrs R & Mr A Heath)

Beautifully presented cream bitch, just out of puppy. I liked her overall body proportions and outline when stood. Pretty head, with both strength and length, and well-placed prick ears that are nicely feathered and well used, with dark eyes and correct bite. She has a good length of neck, though today her topline was a little unsettled and she still needs to finish filling her frame. On the move, she showed a lovely flowing gait as she drove around the ring.

Class 967. Limit - Entries: 2 Absentees: 1

1st Place 1796 - Tiny Winne Argon Targaryen (Imp Swe) (Mrs K D Simpson)

Proud and smart 2-year-old cream dog who looked every bit the picture when stacked. Beautifully presented, with a superb hard, flat coat. He is all male, with a nicely proportioned head showing strength and a lovely dark eye. He holds a firm topline and is well developed in the ribcage, though not quite as tight at the elbow. Strong, muscular hindquarters. On the move, he maintained his outline, with good head and tail carriage, but today was not quite giving his all.

Class 968. Open - Entries: 3 Absentees: 1

1st Place 1791 - Ch Lavauxs Bahamian Chris (Mrs R Heath)

I loved this 7-year-old dog and initially thought he would be my overall winner. He possesses a majestic air, proud and strong, yet with a touch of masculine elegance. His outline flows harmoniously from nose to tail, displaying excellent balance. He has a super head, well-feathered prick ears, dark eyes, and strength in the foreface. His long neck leads to a well-constructed front, with a good forechest and depth, and his oval ribcage is carried well back to a strong loin and muscular hindquarters. He shares a lovely rapport with his handler, moving cleanly and with drive. However, today he had to give way to the youngster, who I later learned was his son—a stunning pair. RBOB

2nd Place 1793 - Madaza Box of Frogs (Mrs J Lyne)

Another quality example of the breed, this 5-year-old cream drop-eared dog impressed me with his overall stamp and outline. He has a nicely balanced head, showing strength, with well-placed ears that frame his face and a lovely dark eye. He possesses a decent length of neck and good length to the ribcage, although he was just fractionally losing his topline at times today. He is well developed through the body and stands on well-boned limbs. Moved out cleanly and was immaculately presented in a hard, flat coat.

5-year-old B&W bitch who was a little flustered today. When settled, she presents a sturdy and unexaggerated outline. She has a feminine head with slight rounding of the back skull, high-set ears, and a well-shaped eye. Her clean neck flows into a firm topline to her full tail. Having a good fill in the forechest and rib, and she is just a fraction longer in the loin. Unfortunately, she was not quite settling on the move to show herself off to full advantage.

1st Place 919 - Sh Ch Bonapartist Pickpocket (Mrs L & Mrs J Graham & Yarrow)

Super 6-year-old O&W dog who shows himself off with style and presence. I liked his cobby outline, which demonstrates excellent overall balance and body proportions, nothing is overdone or out of place. He has an appealing masculine head with parallel planes and a correct, shorter foreface. Lovely dark oval eyes convey a gentle yet keen expression. Well developed through the body, with a good ribcage and short loin. Moderate hindquarters display good muscle tone. A clean mover who covered the ground with brisk, efficient strides. BOB

2nd Place 922 - Sh Ch/cz Ch/be Ch Bonapartist Peaky Blinder avec Aukskara ShCEx (Mrs K M & Mrs A Williams & Drozdova)

Another outstanding dog, fit as a fiddle and a true showman, working in perfect harmony with his handler. He possesses the desired square and cobby outline. His handsome headpiece displays pleasing proportions, with high-set ears that frame his face and dark eyes full of adoration for his handler. He has lovely fill in the forechest and depth to the brisket, a firm topline, and a short loin. He looked a picture moving in profile; today, I just preferred the front action of the winner, but it truly was splitting hairs. RBOB

Her feminine head features slight rounding to the backskull, a dark eye, and low-set ears that give a kind expression. She has a moderately long neck leading to a firm topline, held both standing and on the move. Well developed in forechest and brisket, she is long hip-to-hock with low-set hocks. Moved out well in all directions. - RBOB

2nd Place 960 - Amscot Angel On Fire (Mrs J Donovan)

There is much to admire in this dog approaching 2 years of age. He has a lovely outline and well-balanced body proportions. His handsome, masculine head shows good depth, a well-defined stop, a slightly shorter foreface, and a dark eye. He has a clean neck flowing into a firm topline. While he does not quite match the winner for forechest fill, he has good depth to the ribcage with ribs carried well back. He stands on well-boned limbs. Today, he showed drive in his profile action, though his front movement was not quite as accurate. Well presented in a good jacket.

Fell for this 10-year-old bitch, she has lovely flowing body lines combined with feminine strength, creating a shapely silhouette. A pleasure to go over. Her head is appealing and well balanced, with good depth and parallel planes. Her dark eyes still convey a hint of mischief. As expected at her age, her tan is starting to fade a little. She has a lovely length of neck and is well developed throughout her body, holding a firm and level topline both standing and on the move. Her long, wide thighs are in good muscle tone. I was taken with this delightful 8-month-old W&O dog, who stands fairly square in outline, robust and with impressive substance for his age. He has a masculine, well-proportioned head that is lean, with a pronounced occiput and a kind expression. Holding a correct topline, with a lovely forechest and good depth in brisket. He stands on well-boned limbs with round, compact feet. I liked his strong hindquarters, which he used effectively on the move, showing parallel action behind and a good side gait, though he still needs to tighten a little more in front. A little out of coat today, but with thick skin. BP & BOB

1st Place 1033 - Lucoru Fire Up The Night (Ms K J & Mr M R Starkie & Taylor)

14-month-old W&O bitch who, when standing, displays a square, very feminine outline. She has a nicely balanced head with divergent planes and long, low-set ears that frame her face. The shape is there; she just needs a little more time to finish filling her frame, but she holds a good topline and underline. Moderate in her hindquarters. Fairly true coming and going, though not quite as fluid in profile today. Presented with a good coat texture and thick skin.

His masculine head is well proportioned, with low-set ears and a toning eye. He has a strong neck leading to a correct topline, complemented by a good spring of rib, deep with a prominent breastbone. I liked his strong, wide quarters and good muscle tone. Unfortunately, he seemed very unsettled on the move today.

This happy-go-lucky 6-year-old O&W dog has a lovely nature and exudes great substance, presenting a strong, robust, and square outline. The brisket is well let down, with a good spring to the ribcage, and he holds a correct topline and underline. For me, he was just carrying a little more weight than ideal today. He moves fluidly in profile, showing drive, a tad close behind but clean in front. His coat has good texture. RBOB
