BREED – LABRADOR RETRIEVER - SHOW SOUTH WALES KENNEL ASSOCIATION - SATURDAY 14TH FEBRUARY – JUDGE MISS JANE DIGWEED - WILLOKIN

Thank you to the Society for inviting me to Judge at this lovely show, my thanks also to my Steward for keeping my ring flowing. I had a lovely entry and would like to thank the exhibitors for entering their dogs.

CLASS 193 PUPPY (5/0)   This was a lovely class of babies all at various stages of development.
1ST 445 LINJOR TYLERS CHOICE – Lovely balanced yellow dog puppy who caught my eye on entering the ring. Super head with a lovely expression, almond eye shape with good colour and super dark pigment. Nicely made with a good lay of shoulder, level topline, and a super clothed otter tail coming straight off. Standing on excellent bone, neat feet and ample hind quarter for age. Moved well & balanced on the move for one so young. I was pleased to award him Best Puppy In Breed

2ND 450 LLANSTINAN JEEVES AT SHEENARON - Just six months old this is a lovely black dog puppy of excellent type. Kind head and expression with good stop and length of muzzle, neat ear set and used them well. Clean neck into well placed shoulders, with level topline and tailset, slightly longer in body than 1. Stands on ample bone with neat feet and has a super coat. A little erratic on the move today but this I'm sure will improve with age.

CLASS 195 GRADUATE (6/2)

1ST 446 SERENGOCHS CALISTOGA JW - Lots to like about this lovely chocolate bitch who I thought stood out with her lovely balanced outline and super dark chocolate coat. She has a gorgeous head with a soft melting expression, burnt sugar eye colour which complemented her excellent coat along with perfect pigment. Clean neck into well laid back shoulders a good breath of chest and good forearm positioning with her legs standing well under her. Barrelled ribs short in loin and ample hind quarter with short hocks. She demonstrated good movement front and rear and I was pleased to award her 1st place.

2ND 452 ROWANHOL RIO GRANDE - Smart yellow dog of nice breed type. Masculine head without any coarseness, good eye shape & colour and length of muzzle, just lacking his pigment today. Lovely balanced outline, ample bone and substance with a good coat and tail. Moved well but just lacked the drive and enthusiasm on the move of the winner.

CLASS 196 OPEN (5/3)

1ST 443 EMINALA STAR STRUCK FARNFIELD - Super yellow bitch who really does stand out in a crowd, presented beautifully and so at one with her handler. A pleasure to go over, she has a lovely feminine head with a melting expression, super eye shape and colour along with excellent pigment Good stop, length of muzzle and ear carriage . Very good length of neck leading to good lay back of shoulder. Strong firm topline with otter tail coming straight off. A good length of leg, standing on good bone and feet, deep through chest with a good spring of rib. She is balanced front and rear with free flowing movement. Pleased to award her my BOB

2ND 457 SMOKEYCOT NOSTALGA QUEEN - Lovely yellow boy who has a pleasing outline. Masculine head and expression but not over done in any way. Good angles front and rear with good depth of chest, barrelled ribs and short coupled. A double coat and well clothed otter tail. Moved well.
