I had great pleasure in judging classes for Glenrothes at this double show. The two committees are to be commended on a friendly well run day and a good venue which worked really well. Thank you to the exhibitors who entered and accepted all their placings with good grace.

Whippet

PG (5,1)

1st Corsar’s Northwhip Zenyatta. The most correct mover overall in this class today, some were not settled in front. Parallel front and back and correct footfall. A very feminine head with correct ear set and skull tapering through to an elegant neck. Her topline curves gracefully from her neck through to her rump. A picture of a very balanced whippet

2nd Martin’s Crosscrop Waterloo-my notes say a close decision between this boy and number three. On the out and back this male moved more steadily in front today. He has a correct ear set, definite masculine head with a strong jaw and balanced skull to muzzle. Curvy body with strong quarters. He could have a little more depth of chest but he overall pleased for movement and shape.

3rd Hunter’s Collooney the Argonaut at Sulahmara

O (3)

1st Hunter’s Ch Collooney Was Meant to be at Sulahmara JW ShCEx OSW An elegant male who moved out with enthusiasm, a long easy stride and freedom all ways. An excellent pleasing head leading to a well arched neck and curving gracefully right through his topline. A well laid shoulder with flat muscle and dropping down his forequarters a deep chest with fill in front. Very pleased to award him BOB and to see he went HG3

2nd Burton’s Ballenbreich Harris JW-a long elegant arched neck, leading to excellent muscled quarters. A little wider in front but moved well in profile. A well sprung rib cage standing over ground with well let down hocks.

3rd Arnold’s Ballenbreich Kerrera

Deerhound

PG (1)

1st Harvey’s Kilbourne Aoife BOB-feminine head and a definite gentle bearing. She has a neatly folded ear and correct bite with strong jaw. Over the body a deep chest and good length of ribcage with well laid shoulder. Well muscled hind quarters propelled her around the ring with an easy movement..

O (2,1)

1st Harvey’s Hyndsight All in My Mind (TAF)- At the moment she is unsettled standing and moving as I gather the owner has only just acquired her. Hopefully she will settle soon as she has a good ribcage and strong loin but stands too straight in front pastern at the moment as not really listening.

Dachshund (Miniature Smooth-Haired)

O (5,1)

1st Bain’s Jenivon Jewel at Wenichones a very smart outline with correct balance and proportions. Strong hindquarters propelled her across the ring with parallel movement, holding her topline on the move. She has a long muscular neck and long shoulder blade well laid. Prominent keel with full oval ribcage and well ribbed back. Pleased to award her the class and BOB

2nd Mills Jenivon’s Etoile des Reve at Greyvista-another with an excellent fore-chest and well muscled hind quarters. Held her topline well on the move and tail carriage a little higher. She moved a little closer behind than 1st and I would like to see her with a little less weight on.

3rd Ersiliano’s Linburdax Choc Bueno

Dachshund (Miniature Wired)

O (1)

1st Kirkwood’s Helydon Vexy Vixen JW-although she stood alone I really liked this exhibit. She has an excellent wire head with ridges and beard, and set up shows a clear ground clearance of 25% and prominent keel. A long muscular neck and well laid shoulder and topline with a little rise over the strong loin leading to well muscled quarters. She moved out parallel both ways with her tail held correctly on the move. BOB

Dachshund (Miniature Long-Haired)

O (4,1)

1st Morrin Zilcan Vanilla Ice for Arlatdax JW-one I have judged before and today headed the class with BOB. A masculine head with dark eye and broad ears set at the right height framing his head. Shoulders laid well back and front wrap around of ribs correct. Correct parallel footfall on the move both ways with correct tail carriage. Held his topline the best in the class.

2nd Kasprowicz’s Amberdach Inca Lily Daniello-A super head and dark eye with a reachy neck and excellent fore chest. Very good angulation front and back and well off for bone. Another appealing exhibit who just lost out on enthusiasm on the move and not holding topline as tightly on the day.

3rd Kasprowicz’s Daniello Dreamer Boy

Dachshund (Wire-Haired)

O (4,1)

1st Christie’s Cloudside Valentino at Decalleigh JW ShCEx-a smart dog, presented in good coat who moved out parallel both ways. He has a well balanced head with good ridges and ear set correctly just touching his cheeks. A long reachy muscular neck and well laid back shoulders down to an excellent depth of fore chest. Super hind quarters that propelled him around the ring. Pipped his kennel mate to BOB on footfall and settled movement today

2nd Christie’s Cloudside Xaiden at Decalleigh-close up to 1st and I see his younger full brother. Another presented in excellent coat and handled to advantage. He has an appealing head although a little excited and flew his ears a little-a minor comment. Most of the same comments apply as he also has a reachy long neck, excellent quarters and correct angulation. I am sure he will do well.

3rd Christie’s Tannahill Bergen at Decalleigh VW
