The Royal Cheshire County Show Premier open show 17/06/2026 Firstly I would like to say. Big thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge, my 2 fantastic stewards who kept things moving smoothly and all the exhibitors for entering their fabulous dogs. Basset Hound Junior 2 (1) 1 (Bailey) Chique to Chique a Stiry With a Tail for Longmynd. A very pleasing 1 year old red and white bitch. Nice feminine head with clear eyes,scissor bite, level head planes and correct ear set. Good length of neck into a strong front with well laid back shoulders and correct angulation reflected in the rear. Nicely proportioned hound with a pleasing length of body and top line. Moved well round the ring with a good reach and drive. A very happy young lady with a promising future. RBOB Basset Hound Graduate 2 (1) 1 (Land) Clanwillow the Jazz Singer. A nice 19 month tri dog. A nicely constructed head with good ear set, scissor bite and clean eye. Strong neck of good length into a pleasing front. Shoulder blades well laid back. Ribs well sprung and level top line maintained on the move. Basset Hound Post Graduate 2 1 (Woodworth) Woodrich Precepitus Prudie 22 month red and white bitch. A lovely head piece on this young lady who put her nose to good work in the ring. Level head planes with clear eyes giving a nice expression. Shoulders well laid back giving correct front angulation which matched the rear. Ribs well sprung and carried well back. Moved well round the ring with her tail carried nicely. 2 (Land) Starchief Grant 4yr tri dog Nice clean eye and good ear set. Strong Neck into well laid back shoulders. Ribs well sprung and a nice body length with level top line maintained. Moved well round the ring. Basset Hound Limit 3 (2) 1 (Bowers) Sasilasy Edge of Chaos 2yr tri dog. Good clean eyes with correct ear set curling in nicely with level head planes. Strong neck into well laid back shoulders. Deep well sprung ribs carried well back. Level top line with well muscled rear and correct tail set. Moved well round the ring. Basset Hound Open 4 (2) 1 (Woodworth) CH Amardio Against the Wind JW 3yr Red and white dog. A strong masculine, well proportioned hound with a pleasing head, good ear set and clean eyes giving a lovely expression. Strong neck into a well muscled front with good bone and angulation. Ribs deep and well sprung carried well back. Strong loin leading into well muscled rear. Moved well round the ring maintaining a level top line. BOB 2 (Bailey) CH Longmynd Cedric Smartson By Bromp 6yr tri dog. Another lovely dog full of character but making his handler work today. Nice head with good length of ear correctly set and curling inwards. Strong neck into a well constructed front with deep ribs well sprung and carried well back. Complimentary rear angulation with a good tail set. Moved well round the ring. A very happy hound with a lot of quality. Bloodhound Post Graduate 3 (1) 1 (Priors) Houndseeker Falcon 2yr Black and Tan dog. Handsome young hound who is maturing well. Pleasing head with a lovely expression clean eyes. Correct ear set of nice texture which curl inwards. Scissor bite with square lip. Strong neck of good length leading into a well constructed front of good bone with angulation that matches the rear. Deep well sprung ribs and a level top line. Well muscled rear with good bend of stifle. A well balanced nicely proportioned hound who when settled moved effortlessly round the ring. 2 (Rowland) Castledee Let it Snow 2yr Black and Tan dog. A pleasing head with clear eyes and a lovely expression. Good length of neck into well laid back shoulders. Level top line and strong loin. Very nice rear angulation, tail set and bend of stifle. Once settled moved well round the ring. Bloodhound Open 4 (1) 1 (Rowland) Castledee One in a Million 5yr Black and Tan Bitch. A very pleasing feminine head with a nice expression. Good length of neck into well laid shoulder blades. Good amount of bone and well constructed front. Ribs well sprung and loin strong. Rear angulation complements the front with a good bend of stifle. A nicely proportioned hound who moved well round the ring RBOB 2 (Prior) Houndseeker Dauntless JW 4yr red dog. A very striking dog shown in fabulous condition. A very strong masculine head well furnished. Strong neck into a well constructed front with a prominent pro sternum and a good amount of bone. Ribs well sprung and carried well back into a strong loin. Well muscled rear with matching angulation. On the move carried his top line and looked more than capable for a days work. A strong contender for 1st Otterhound Post Graduate 1 1 (Porter) Ottaryx Chaos JW 22mo Black and Tan bitch. A lovely example of the breed with a superb gentle expression. Head well furnished with a scissor bite and well set ears. Good length of neck into a well developed front with well laid back shoulder good length of upper arm and ample bone. Nicely proportioned hound with deep well sprung ribs carried back into well muscled rear assembly. Tail well set on and carried well when on the move. Moved out and back with an effortless action. BOB Otterhound Open 1 1 (Porter) Ottaryx Quinevere VW 7 yr Black and Tan bitch. Another lovely example of the breed. Well proportioned head with good furnishings and a pleasing expression. Good length of neck into a good front assembly. Not as much forechest as PG but good length of upper arm and well laid back shoulders. Well sprung deep ribs with a level top line.
