AFGHAN HOUND

Post Graduate (2,0) 1st Mrs L Newtons Cloudside Red Sky Over Shimalma 18-month-old handsome male who presented a very pleasing outline, and he certainly knew it! Lovely headpiece with an expression that was all Afghan. Well balanced throughout, with a good 50/50 height-to-length ratio and good overall conformation. Floated around the ring with ease RBOB 2nd Mrs N Hudson’s Sitana Miss Marve 22-month-old female with a well-balanced, feminine head. Long front pasterns led to correct feet. level topline and moved correctly in all directions. Lacked a little confidence today, which affected the overall picture, 

Limit (1,0) Mr M Drage’s Shimalma Drambuie Isjulees Rising 6-year-old male with a dark eye of correct shape. Excellent front angulation, complemented by a powerful hindquarter. Coat was well presented and, on the move, he used his rear well to produce plenty of drive.

Open (1,0) 1st Mr M Drage’s Zendushkas Born To Run Isjulees Almost 4-year-old masculine male with a strong head. On first glance he presents the correct proportions, with good depth of chest and a short loin. For me, the best mover of the day, covering the ground with ease BOB

Junior (1,0) 1st Mrs K L Barker’s Delianza She’s Timeless Beautiful 13-month-old bitch with a lovely balance of femininity and power. Correct dentition. Could take a little more depth of chest, but I am sure this will come with maturity. Moved with excellent reach and drive in all directions. A very promising young bitch and pleased to award her

Open (2,0) 1st Mrs J and Mr I Ritchie’s Jimanns Hell on Heels ShCEx 3-year-old bitch well schooled and beautifully presented. Well off for bone throughout, with good substance while retaining her femininity. Well angulated fore and aft, with the correct slight arch over the rump, all combining to present a balanced and pleasing outline. Her overall quality and balance impressed BOB 2nd Mr G Dennis’ Priorpark Pragmatist 2-year old with a strong head and well muscled throughout. Feet could be a little tighter, but a sound, well-conditioned hound with a lovely temperament

The ground conditions made assessing movement difficult for all the Dachshunds today, with the very dry grass proving particularly unforgiving on those low-slung bellies!

DACHSHUND (LONG HAIRED)

Puppy (2,0) 1st Miss K Lacey’s Abydezi Abracadabra 9-month-old puppy with a nice length of neck, correct front angulation and pleasing body proportions for her age. Correct depth of chest with adequate ground clearance and good feet. Well tempered and showed herself with real assurance throughout. BP 2nd Mr L J Cross’ Abydezi Bellatrix Loggeta Litter sister to 1st and, unsurprisingly, sharing many of the same qualities. A sweet face with a very pretty expression. She could do with a little more confidence, and today was rather more interested in what her sister was doing than showing herself!

Post Graduate (3,0) 1st Mr K and Mrs A M Paskins’ Kindeace Londons Calling JW Almost 2-year-old male who caught my eye as soon as he entered the ring. A well-balanced boy of good size, carrying plenty of muscle throughout, and I certainly felt for his handler lifting him off the table! Correct head planes, good length of ear and a proud head carriage. Lovely shaded red colour with a pleasing coat texture. An impressive, well put together male BOB 2nd Ms Chapmans Melminds Makayla Almost 2-year-old pretty, feminine bitch with a lovely expression. Particularly liked her front angulation, complemented by strong, well-developed rear thighs. I would prefer her topline a touch stronger, but there was much to like about her overall. Unlucky to meet 1st in such good form today.

Limit (3,1) 1st Paskins’ Delsaux Life Goes on At Kindeace 2-year-old, very well handled and of lovely temperament. Nice ground clearance with a clear underline. Pleasing head with correct stop and a nice eye. Legs and feet parallel, presenting a balanced overall picture. RBOB 2nd Chapmans Melminds Up on The Catwalk 4-year-old lovely bitch who made this a very close decision. Particularly liked her front, with plenty of hound in front of the forelegs and the keel correctly placed. Would have preferred a little more rear angulation, which ultimately tipped the balance in favour of 1st. Nevertheless, a quality bitch with much to like.

Open (3,0) 1st Paskins’ Kindeace Hit the Road Jack JW 3-year-old male presenting a very pleasing overall outline. Well muscled throughout with a strong, level topline. I particularly liked his ear set and nice length of neck, which flowed smoothly into well laid-back shoulders. A well-balanced, impressive male. 2nd Paskins’ Cedavoch It’s Taboo At Kindeace VW 8-year-old male who completely belied his age and pushed hard for the top spot. Plenty of forechest with good feet and still presenting a lovely overall picture. A cheeky chap with plenty of character, who clearly still thoroughly enjoys his day in the ring!

Junior (1,0) 1st Mrs T & Miss R Kerry’s Hampdach Belle Returns to Kireton 15-month-old bitch with plenty of forechest and strong, well-developed thighs. Just enough ground clearance for me, although she found the difficult ground conditions challenging on the move. I would prefer her feet a little broader. A gentle-tempered young bitch with much to like. RBOB

Limit(3,1) 1st Mrs S L A Grahams Melriding Kaiserine at Ravold 17-month-old bitch with a pretty, feminine head and nice reach of neck. Slightly long in the back, but impressed with her hind angulation and correct tail set. 2nd Miss K J Heels’ Daxanory Ravishing Rose Almost 3-year-old bitch with a pleasing overall outline. Plenty of forechest and correct ground clearance. I would prefer a little more angulation through the rear, but overall a nicely put together bitch.

Open (2,1) 1st Mrs W Starkey’s Fredanna Moonlight Cypres at Hamoura 2 year old dog Impressive 2-year-old male who presented a striking picture on the stack. A real handsome lad with a pleasing expression and plenty of ring presence. Substantial and well muscled, with good bone throughout, correct depth of chest and ground clearance. He commanded attention in the ring. BOB

Post Graduate (3,1) 1st Mrs T K Yates’ Irisdax Incognito Noisette 2-year-old compact male whom I liked his head and expression. Correct ear set with attractive feathering, well-developed hindquarters and a nicely set tail. A pleasing, well-balanced dog overall.2nd Mrs J Pretty’s Jaxrubydax Constellation 2.5 year old bitch well presented and lovely in temperament. Nice reach of neck, although I would prefer her ear set a little higher.A very honest bitch with many pleasing qualities.

Limit (3,1) 1st Mrs J Pretty’s Jaxrubydax Brighten My Day Sweet 7-year-old dapple bitch with correct head planes and a pleasing length of body. Well-sprung ribs giving the correct oval-shaped body, and stood true on all four feet. A lovely, well-constructed older bitch who presented a very pleasing picture.RBOB 2nd Mrs T Yates & Mrs J Pretty’s Hilmar Winston’s Sidecar 3-year-old shaded cream male of a nice size, with a pleasing medium-brown eye. Well muscled throughout and presented in good condition. A little proud of his tail on the move, but an attractive male with a pleasing overall appearance

Open (3,1) 1st Mrs T K Yates’ Lyndarlea Just Brian of Irisdax 8-year-old male with a strong, compact body and well-developed coat. Well-placed ears and a strong jaw, with the correct arch over the loin. Clearly shares a lovely relationship with his handler and presented himself very well BOB.2nd Mrs J Pretty’s Jaxrubydax Just Bernice almost 7 year old bitch Almost 7-year-old bitch with a lovely head and expression. Nicely angulated throughout, although I would prefer a stronger topline. Overall a lovely, feminine bitch who gave a good account of herself today.

Puppy (3,0) 1st Miss K J Heels’ Rayol Never Say Never with Daxanory, almost 7 month old boyAlmost 7-month-old male and a real little showman. The most beautiful headpiece, with super angulation and a lovely long body, without anything being overdone. Very well handled and pushed hard for Best of Breed, but was just a little immature at this stage. I will watch his development with great interest and am sure he has a successful career ahead of him.RBOB AND BP 2nd Mrs M Wood’s Dackelheim Just a Game 11 month old dog 11-month-old promising male with a very pleasing head and correct head planes. Well-muscled hindquarters, although slightly longer through the loin than 1st. A little proud of his tail on the move, but another promising youngster. 3rd Mrs S Coote’s Kelsomaid Up In Flames

Junior (2,1) Mrs S Coote’s Kelsomaid Blazing Commet 10 month old bitch 10-month-old bitch with a nice length of neck, strong level topline and good feet. I would like to see a little more development in the forechest, but at her young age I am sure this will come with maturity. A nicely put together youngster with time very much on her side.

Post Graduate (2,0) 1st Mrs Scott’s Allernach One More Time 3-year-old male, well handled and presented with an impressive sheen to his coat. Pleasing head ratios, with a long, strong body, good ground clearance and good feet. A smart, well-presented dog who made a very nice overall impression. BOB 2nd Mrs S Coote’s Andeysson Cape Verde of Kelsomaid 5-year-old bitch and dam of Blazing Commet and Up In Flames. Feminine in head, with short, well-boned legs. Her tail set rose slightly from the topline, which ultimately decided the placings today. A lovely, feminine bitch overall.

Junior (1,0) 1st Miss C Clements’ Springdac My My My Delilah Just turned 1-year-old bitch with a feminine head and a nice coarse coat. Well-placed withers leading into a strong topline, with a well-muscled, correctly oval body. A very promising young bitch RBOB

Post Graduate (1,0) Mrs C J Grant’s Earthsea Dixieland Girl 6 year old girl 6-year-old happy, outgoing bitch with a constantly wagging tail. Nice and compact while retaining correct ground clearance, with pleasing hind angulation. A cheerful girl who clearly enjoyed her time in the ring.

Limit (1,0) 1st Miss C Clemets’ Derehea Helena At Springdac 3 year old bitch 3-year-old bitch with a nice reach of neck and good body coverage and substance. Correct brow ridge and beard giving a characteristic expression, together with a correctly set tail. A well put together bitch who presented herself nicely. BOB
