Merseyside Gundog Club

Merseyside Gundog – Premier Open Show (Sunday 1st February 2026)

I would like to thank the officers and committee for inviting me to judge at their very well organised and run show. Also, a big thank you to my stewards for running the ring impeccably.

Spaniel (American Cocker):

Puppy (1,0a) 1, Tricajon Orea Cream at Jennobar (Mrs V & Mrs Y Morris & Langton). 9-month-old liver and white dog. Masculine and maturing body wise well. Well proportioned head, well chiselled with no sign coarseness. The classic slightly sloping topline. Moved well once settled, covered the ground easily with drive. Tail carriage a little high on the move. Still in puppy coat. Overall picture, time can only improve this boy. BOB, BPIB.

Limit (1,0a) 1, Fantastic Field Shine like a Diamond at Gadhelic JW (IMP FIN) (Miss C S Moore). Two-year-old Liver bitch. A lovely chiselled head, correct ear set of good length leathers. Eyes of lovely shape with endearing gaze. Teeth in scissor bite. Good length of body with level topline, well laid shoulders, Deep ribs well back to her strong loin. A well-constructed, boned and muscled bitch. Moved with steady drive maintaining correct tail carriage. BOB.

Open (2,0a) 1, Sh Ch Nadavin Expectation of Vraibleu (Mr G & Mrs E A Hazell). Five-year-old Liver Bitch. An overall nice outline. Pleasing breed typical head, eyes with nice yet grave expression. Coat of good texture, a little lacking in feathering currently. Moved well, with steady drive. RBOB.

2, Gadhelic Jennyanydots (Miss C S Moore). Six-year-old Liver Bitch. A girl with great character. A wee bit smaller than the others, yet still very much a field spaniel. Movement a bit stiff to begin with but once got going she moved well. Pleasing head with moderate stop, correct ear set, expressionate gaze.
