Pollard Canine Society

Thank you to those exhibitors who entered under me today, particularly as the weather was not on our side and was very wet, which did affect some dogs enjoyment and showmanship, and ultimately their placings.

Thank you to both the society for the invite and my very efficient stewards.

PUG

Puppy (1,0)

1 –Dawson-Payne &Mousley's, Judamie’s Edith’s Sunshine

10 months. Very promising young female with good breed type and a lovely overall outline. Pretty head, round and nicely proportioned to body, with good expression and well-set ears. Short, square muzzle with good open nostrils. Strong neck and good topline, with a high-set, tightly curled tail. Good bone and substance for age and a nice compact outline. Good straight front and rear assembly. Lovely youngster who showed and moved well in all directions, I wouldn't be surprised if she goes on to obtain her title in time once fully matured. BPIB, RBOB.

Junior (2,1)

1 – Ranshaw's, Conquell Curley Spencer at Reyakosa

18 months. A young male with good bone and substance. Masculine head with typical expression and well-set ears. Good dark eyes and a short, square muzzle with good open nostrils. Strong neck. Nice high-set, well-carried tail. Good sized feet. Moved well and showed nicely for his handler today.

Post Graduate (4,2)

1 – Urwin's, Aneeva Miss Atomic Bomb

Lovely mature bitch with good breed type and a pleasing, compact outline. She is smaller in size but proportionate throughout. Pretty head with lovely expression, good ear set and a short, square muzzle with good open nostrils. Good dark eyes and strong neck. Good topline with a high-set, tightly curled tail. Good bone and substance and a nice square, cobby body. Good front and rear assembly with good feet. Nice overall balance who moved well.

2 – Marsh's, Dynatos Doing Her Thing

Good quality mature bitch with good bone and substance. A fraction bigger all round than class winner but not to her detriment. Feminine head with good expression, well-set ears and a good square muzzle. Good open nostrils and excellent dark eyes. Strong neck and good topline, with a well-set and nicely carried double curled tail. Good overall balance and a pleasing square outline. Good front and rear assembly and nice feet. Good breed type and a lovely bitch who moved well. I have previously done well for this girl but unfortunately she wasn't enjoying the extreme weather today and who could blame her!

1 – Dawson-Payne & Mousley's, Ch Judamie Thelma Jean JW

Lovely mature bitch with excellent breed type and a very pleasing overall balance. Beautiful head, round and well proportioned to body, with lovely expression and nicely set ears. Excellent short, square muzzle with good open nostrils and good facial balance. Strong neck and good shoulders, leading into a good level topline. Could be a fraction shorter in loin and a touch longer in leg if I was being ultra critical. However she has a cobby body with good bone and substance and a nice straight front. High-set tail, tightly curled over the hip. Good hindquarters and feet. Lovely rich fawn colour and in excellent coat. Moved really well with purposeful, steady movement and a nice unexaggerated typical roll. A very lovely example of the breed and my clear Best of Breed today. BOB

2 –Marsh's, Jaudette New Perspective

Good quality mature bitch with a lovely head and expression. Good dark eyes and nicely set ears, with a good short, square muzzle and good open nostrils. Dark pigment. Strong neck and good topline with a nice high-set, tightly curled tail. Good bone and substance with a pleasing overall square outline. Good front and rear assembly and nice feet. Lovely breed type and good overall balance. Moved really well and showed nicely despite the weather and seemed to be really enjoying her day out. Unlucky to meet 1 today.

3 –Urwin's, Sunlea Legend of the Sword for Aneeva JW

I felt this boy deserved a critique too as he has lots of qualities! A handsome mature dog with a lovely head and expression. Good ear set and a nice short, square muzzle with good open nostrils. Good dark eyes and strong neck. Level topline and a high-set, well-carried tail. Good bone and substance with a pleasing overall outline. Lovely deep colour and good definition to markings. Good front and rear assembly and nice feet. Good breed type and moved steadily. Just showing his age a little today , and had to make way to the two younger exhibits today.
