I thoroughly enjoyed my day judging at this lovely well-run show. My sincere thanks go to the Officers and Committee for the kindness and hospitality that was extended to me during my visit. My excellent stewards did a marvellous job and many thanks to the exhibitors who entered and took my decisions graciously. There was such a wonderful atmosphere around the ring side, and everyone cheered each other’s awards.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Puppy (6,3)

1.Spall & Clark LLapsttam Techno Notice I just loved this 8-month-old black and tan dog as soon as he walked into the ring. Full of happiness, tail never stopped wagging and very attentive to his handler. Presented immaculately with lovely raven black silky coat with rich tan markings in all the correct places. Good head with a soft and gentle expression from his large dark eyes, high set feathered ears, gentle stop with the correct length of muzzle. Complete scissor bite. Good reach of neck with moderate chest and well laid-back shoulders. Moved well both coming and going holding a level topline. BP

2.Hartill-Speak & Jackson Fortunamajor Resurrection Under Gracewincavs 8-month-old well broken blenheim dog. Nice dark eye and pigment giving gentle expression. Decent forehand and body with good spring of rib for age. Good size with shapely profile keeping level topline when on the move. Moderate bone and good turn of stifle. Another lovely puppy just preferred the size and head shape of 1.

1.Hogan Arrowbien Grace Kelly For Stavonga 12 month old well broken blenheim bitch with a very attractive feminine head, large dark eye with wonderful feathered ears perfectly placed. Moderate length of neck, good width of chest and spring of rib. Happy sound mover holding her topline.

Post Graduate (5,1)

1.Bloice Scotlass Roses Are Red 23-month-old well broken Tricoloured bitch of good size and shape. Skull almost flat between ears. Stop shallow. Good pigmentation and with correct scissor bite. Short-coupled with good spring of rib. Level back. Moved soundly around the ring.

2.Bloomfield Oaklake Limitless 20 month blanket tricoloured dog. Excellent length of coat and lovely masculine head with correct earset. Good front and rear angulation and well-turned stifle. Held his topline on the move.

1.Spall & Clark Llapsttam Luther Vandross JW 19 month old ruby male with large dark round eyes and broad flat skull ,shallow stop and good length and depth to muzzle .Good pigment with coat of rich red and silky in texture with ample feathering perfectly presented .Strong neck set into well laid shoulders , level top line with correctly angulated rear quarters well set tail ,moved out with drive around the ring.RBOB

2.Colavecchia Carolus Camilla 2 yr old well broken Blenheim bitch with feminine head and that sought after lozenge spot. Large dark eye and good pigment with enough cushioning giving that soft expression. Nose dark with open nostrils, correct bite, good depth of chest, pleasing outline on the move and standing .Moved with drive and purpose .Very difficult decision between 1 and 2 but preferred the head of 1.

3.Lunt Oaktreepark Royal Bliss

1.Walker Carsan Richie Rich JW 2 and half yr old Tricolour of superb type that is an excellent example of a sporting, happy and fearless Cavalier. A lovely boy with correct head, large round dark eyes, good pigmentation, enough cushioning and giving that soft melting expression. Excels in size and shape, compact and short coupled with good angulation which he used to good effect as he moved round the ring with drive. He just loved his handler BOB

2.Hartill-Speak Verheyen Woody Under Gracewincavs JW another lovely example of the breed .2 and half yr old blenheim boy with good head, lovely dark eye and pigmentation. Soft expression framed by his lovely long feathered ears. Good reach of neck, shoulder assembly and good spring of rib. Moved with drive around the ring keeping a level topline. Just on occasion would show a bit white of eye that is me being picky.

1.Knight Carolus Miss Chloe 4 yr old Blenheim of excellent type. Feminine throughout with typical head with desired spot, flat skull, high set long ears dark eyes and pigment giving gentle expression. Well laid shoulder and good spring of rib leading onto level topline. moved soundly with drive. Presented in immaculate condition .

2.Lunt Oaktreepark Royal Ava A lovely well broken 4 yr old blenheim with rich chestnut. Good head shape and pigmentation giving a lovely expression. Well presented with ears set correctly and fabulous feathering, soundly made with good spring of rib. Moves out well with a free driving action holding his topline.

1.Morley Baldragon’s Shooting Star For Lizianmor 9 month old tri puppy bitch presented well. Lovely outline that is compact and cobby. Lovely head with domed skull and turn-up, expressive eye and well-developed muzzle that is well cushioned. Ideal neck and good front, well ribbed. Moved around the ring with ease both ways. BP and RBOB

Junior (4,3)

1.Boyer Marchog Make Way For Ellinghurst just out of puppy by a day, this boy is eye-catching with his rich ruby colour presented immaculately. Very good head and eye, super dome and rise to skull. Ample neck and shoulder with a good level top line on a cobby body . Nice depth to chest, well ribbed and ample bone. He carries himself very well on the move and is sound from all directions once he settles. BOB

Post Graduate (5,3)

1.Smith Justacharma Magic Retained 2-year-old tri dog once you have your hands on him can feel the lovely domed head, long low set ears and expression. Open nostrils with good pigment. Descent neck, chest with short back who strode out with reach and drive.

2.Boyer Ellinghurst Bat Out Of Hell 5 yr old Blenheim boy with wide, clear blaze with the 'spot' in centre of a nicely domed head. Dark and expressive eyes framed by low set ears Feet compact, well-padded and feathered. Unfortunately, he was not happy in the ring and therefore unable to assess his movement. I was later told he had a fright and has been out of the show ring for a while which is a real shame.

Open (5,2)

1.Rushton Tiflin We All Love Jack 7 yr old nicely broken up tri dog, with a good head and eye with even blaze. Lovely rise behind his muzzle with nice arched neck. Short back with well sprung ribs giving the cobby shape. Good rear angulation allowing for good drive from behind. He was happy to be out in the ring today tail never stopped wagging and very attentive to his handler.

2.Boyer Ellinghurst Miss Saigon another veteran in this class a few months older than 1. A lightly marked tricolour who has a lovely silky straight coat presented well. Good domed head, low set ears with good feathering and lovely expression. Compact in body and holds her top line when moving. Very close between 1 and 2 and can see the places changing around but preferred the movement on 1 today as he was more settled in the ring.

1.Keown Keomandi Remus A well-presented tri colour 8-month-old boy with a beautifully shaped head with rounded skull, large span of ears with good fringing and even blaze. Well-defined stop with dark eyes and good bite. Nice, developed shoulders and good depth of rib holding a level topline while standing and on the move. BP

2.Lees Lafford Glorious a black and white girl of lovely type who showed very well once settled. Had a lovely ear set, head and expression with nice dark eye. Good outline although not quite as mature as 1 and moved well.

Junior (2,0)

Both in this class were not happy in the ring today and tended to have their tails down

1.Milroy Metamorphic Expedition To Farthinghall 7 month old tri-coloured dog with good silky coat well presented with correct hare like feet. A decent head with large mobile ears which he used to good effect. Ample spring of rib and moved well when he got into his stride.

2.Grist Wilachans Castaway 14-month-old black and white girl with lovely large mobile ears, appealing expression and a silky coat. Hare feet coming along nicely. preferred the front movement of 1.

Post Graduate (5,2)

1.Keown Keomandi Moonlite Serenade nearly two-year-old Red & White bitch. nice type with dark eye and pigment, black nose with open nostrils and nice scissor bite and finely pointed muzzle with even blaze. Good body with fine bone, correct tailset and carriage. Good movement both coming and going holding her topline.

2.Milroy Straz S Vostoka Vienna With Farthinghall (Imp Ukr) 18 month tricolour girl who is a lovely shape. Pretty head with dark rounded eyes, defined stop and fine muzzle. Hare feet but tended to drop her tail . She was very nervous and told she as had arrived from Ukraine by her owner. Hopefully with time she will settle .

3.Varley Iotastar’s Join The Dots For Coxleyview

1.Anderson Melangel Rosies Dream For Pappretty 13 mth old black and white with a feminine head and pleasing skull, ears of good size and set, dark rounded eyes, finely pointed muzzle and scissor bite. Good ribbing with level topline, and tail good both set and carriage. Hare feet, moved out well both ways. Good coat presented well.

2.Kerfoot Flutterby Holly Blue A well-presented tri colour girl who takes the eye with a beautifully shaped head with large span of ears. Good reach of neck leading to a level topline and correct tail set. Moved out well. Lacking in coat today.

1.Keown Keomandi Fly Me To The Moon JW Loved this boys size, well balanced, masculine head with good dark round eye, ample neck, level top line when moving or standing. Correct tail carriage, good forehand with some depth of chest and pleasing spring of rib and moved out well.RBOB

2.Thompson Elendil San Miguel Another who impressed on the move. Attractive head and expression, well placed, mobile ears. Very typical feet. Good hindquarters preferred overall shape of 1.

Open Bitch (5,1)

1.Neachell Gleniren L’adora At Suttonpark What a mature and eye-catching girl in every way. Abundance of coat of good length without being overly long. Dark eyes set in a nicely shaped head with symmetrical blaze. heavily fringed ears. Medium length of neck set onto well shaped shoulders allowing her excellent front movement. Good rear well angled giving good movement. Overall, a well-proportioned, good mover presented well. BOB

2.Lees Lafford Ninja another lovely tricoloured girl with fine boned, prettiest of heads,dark expressive eyes, scissor bite, heavily fringed ears, well developed body, her movement free and flowing with tail carried proudly over her back .

1.Turnbull Barryann’s Precious 6-month-old girl fawn puppy just entered the ring full of character and mischief. Her head is developing well with good wrinkling for her age. Open nostrils and correct ear set. Body is short and she holds a level topline. Hindquarters were good and tail set on correct. Moved well once she settled. BPIB

2.Byrne Milucksin Amillion another very promising youngster, Cobby and compact with a fine smooth coat. Nice feminine head, lovely expressive eyes and neat ears. Moved well both out and back in a very typical fashion. Prefered the overall balance of 1.

1.Clay-Squires Chandshar La Parisian With Bearcrest 2 and half year old fawn female with a pretty feminine head and darkest of pigment. She has ample bone, neat feet and short in loin. Moved and showed well for her handler.

1.Turnbull CH Nicobri’s Lord Of The Rings JW ShCex OSW 2½-year-old fawn boy of excellent type that took my eye as soon as he came into the ring. He has a very appealing cobby outline with a strong, well-balanced construction. Beautiful head piece with large dark eyes, good pigment and a well-defined black mask, complemented by nice open nostrils and correct set ears. Liked his bone and substance, strong straight front legs, and neat feet. Compact body with level topline maintained on the move. Coat excellent in texture with tail tightly curled. Covers the ground freely with good reach and drive. BOB and delighted to see him go TG3 in a quality group.

2.Byrne Milucksin Million Bucks 3 yr old boy with good balance and proportions, bright expressive eyes, moderate wrinkle on head, a little soft in topline, good ribs, short loin, high set tight tail. Preferred the head and expression of 1.

1.Lee Litalees Red Rebel 17-month boy with very attractive head with sparkling eyes and good pigmentation. Small well-placed ears, good reach of neck, nice shoulder placement, correct front, good rib and level topline. Coat of good silky texture and lovely colour moved very well both ways. BOB

2.Foster Marlukney Blossom Goddess this little 14-month girl was really playing up to her handler today, but she pulled it back. Smart and nicely constructed with good head, medium and dark eyes with nicely balanced length of muzzle. Good reach of neck, moderate spring of rib, moved well once she got going.

Post Graduate (2,0)

1.Foster Jankeri Beatrice Neat, with nice dark eyes and moderate long coat in good condition with rich tan markings. Correct Bite. Nicely set and carried tail. Good reach of neck flowing into well placed shoulders. Moved nicely.

2.Nowakowska Maganyork Bella Surprise 14-month-old girl moved soundly across the ring tending to drop her topline at times. Very attractive head with sparkling eyes and good pigmentation. Good mouth. Lovely reach of neck and good rear angulation. Preferred the overall size of 1.
