Exeter and County Canine Society Open Show

Big thank you to the committee for the invitation to judge at their beautifully run show, and to all the exhibitors who came and made the day a very special one in the sunshine and enjoying our outdoor ring. A big show of appreciation to my ring steward who kept us in tip top shape and running smoothly, without people like you shows wouldn’t as amazing as they are so thank you for your time and laughter. It was great to see some amazing quality dogs, and people supporting each other, the way shows should be which was lovely to see and be a part of.

Class 202 – Puppy – 2/2

1st – 529 – Zenevieva Million Dollars For Fairwinds (AI) (IKC) – Mrs S and Miss M Lewis

This young bitch is maturing beautifully at just eleven months old, she still has that puppy cheekiness in her eye. Symmetrical and balanced she moves effortlessly with power and drive, straight and true. Coat a wonderful cream with decent feathering and a dense water resistant undercoat. Broad but feminine skull, balanced and well chiselled, well set on neck. Muzzle powerful wide and deep. Nose black in colour. Eyes dark with dark rims, set well apart. Correct ear set, set level with eyes. Strong jaws, with correct and complete dentition and scissor bite. Forelegs straight with good solid bone, shoulders well laid back. Being long in blade with upper arm of equal length placing forelegs well under the body, elbows being close fitting to the body. Balanced and well proportioned in body, ribs deep and well sprung. She has a level topline shown wonderfully in stack and on the move. Strong and muscular throughout for a bitch still young, it sets her in good stead as she continues to mature. Loins and legs strong, with good second thighs and well bent stifles, hocks well let down and straight. Round cat like feet, nice and tidy. Correct tail set, carried level with back, reaching hocks. Showed herself really well today got a bright future ahead of her I’m sure. Delighted to award BP today.

2nd – 536 – Navalis Rising Hope For Andemavis (Imp Ukr) – Miss A Predmiestina

Young seven month old bitch shows a lot of potential. Very friendly and biddable with a kind expression. Skull is feminine and broadening well with maturity, well placed and set on neck. Length of foreface approximately equals length from well defined stop to occiput. Nose black. Eyes dark, set into dark rims, set well apart. Moderately sized ears, correctly set, level with eyes. Jaws strong, with correct scissor bite. Good length of neck with good muscle tone. Forelegs straight with good bone, shoulder well laid back. Front construction places the forelegs well under the body, elbows are close fitting to the body. Deep ribs well sprung. She has a level topline that she showed well in stack and on the move today. Loin and legs have good muscle developing and second thighs. Well bent stifles and hocks well let down and straight. Feet are well manicured, round and cat like. Tail set on and carried level with back. She moved with great enthusiasm in the ring today, you can see the bond that she has with her handler, she has shown her power and drive when settled. Lovely cream coat, with decent feathering and a glimpse at a wonderful adult coat. Beautiful young bitch I look forward to seeing her again in the future and see how she has developed.

Class 203 – Special Yearling – 2/5

1st – 541 – Aurgentious Mena Dhu JW – Mrs P and Mr A Winsor

Balanced, active and powerful with a lovely kind expression, is a way to start describing this twenty three month old dog. Masculine, balanced, broad skull, set well on neck. Muzzle powerful wide and deep, proportions from foreface to stop and stop to occiput. Nose black. Dark brown eyes set well apart in dark rims. Moderately sized ears, set level with eyes. Jaws strong with complete and correct scissor bite. Neck has good length, clean and muscular. Forelegs straight with good bone, shoulders well laid back, long in blade, with upper arm of equal length placing forelegs well under his body. Elbows close fitting. Well balanced dog throughout, short coupled, ribs deep and well sprung. Level topline strong and shown beautifully in stack and on the move. Loins strong, legs strong with good muscle, good second thigh. Well bent stifle, hocks well let down and straight when viewed from the rear. Feet round, tidy and cat like. Correct tail set carrying level with the back, tail length reaching hocks, without any curl present. Movement settled with good drive, stride long and free. Beautiful coat with good feathering and a dense water resistant undercoat. Wonderful to go over him and see a happy boy enjpy his time in the ring, will enjoy seeing him as he continues to mature.

2nd – 517 – Andesine Ray Of Light – Ms D Anstey

This fourteen month old bitch was extremely happy to see me in the ring today, very happy to be outside in the sunshine, a testament to a kind and friendly golden, that’s also still young, though they never really grow up. Maturity will come as she grows. Head is balanced and well chiselled, broad without being overdone and feminine, well set on neck. Muzzle is powerful wide and deep, nose is black. Eyes dark set in dark rims, set well apart. Moderately sized ears set level with eyes. Jaws strong, with perfect complete scissor bite. Clean, muscular good length of neck. Got some growing to do but front angulations are there, placing her forelegs well under the body, with good bone. She is short coupled, ribs deep developing well, and well sprung. Level topline seen well in the ring today. Muscles developing well, loins and legs strong, good second thighs, well bent stifles, hocks well let down. Feet tidy round and cat like. Correct tail set carried level with back, length reaches hocks, well furnished. When settled on the move you can see real powerful drive but was a tad overexcited on the move today. Coat is coming on lovely with decent feathering and a lovely undercoat. With a bit more maturity and muscle development I can see this lovely bitch do well.

Class 204 – Graduate – 3/7

1st – 525 – Fulvia Just Magic At Jandeburn – Mrs D Fenn

Very friendly and happy two year old dog, especially to be in my company in the ring today which is lovely to see, he is confident and biddable. This boy is active and powerful, balanced throughout. Skull is masculine and well chiselled, broad and well set on neck. His muzzle is wide, powerful and deep, he has correct proportions of foreface to stop and stop to occiput. Nose is black. Eyes a lovely dark brown colour set in dark rims, well apart . Correct ear set, moderate in size. Jaws strong, perfect and regular, complete scissor bite. Good length of neck, lean and muscular. Front angulation wonderful placing forelegs well under the body, the forelegs straight with good bone. Shoulders well laid back, long in blade. He is balanced in body, short coupled. Ribs deep and well sprung, deep through the heart. A level topline shown beautifully in stack and on the move. Loins and legs are strong and well developed with good muscle, and good second thighs, well bent stifles, hocks well let down. Tail set flowing off the back, reaching the hocks. He moved with grace and drive in the ring today, his stride long and free, enjoying his time in the ring with his handler in the sunshine. Beautiful golden coat with feathering and fantastic dense water resistant undercoat. Wonderful example of the breed delighted to award him RBOB today, congratulations.

Correct tail set carried level with back, length reaches hocks, well furnished. When settled on the move you can see real powerful drive but was a tad overexcited on the move today. Coat is coming on lovely with decent feathering and a lovely undercoat. With a bit more maturity and muscle development I can see this lovely bitch do well. In this class she is a bit more settled on the move showing straight and true, a good mover when she calms down and she can show herself really well.

1st – 521 – Tillsun Mistletoe Promises – Mrs W Collis

Kind and confident two and a half year old bitch in wonderful condition, took to the ring and showed her paws off, enjoying all the outdoor ring and sunshine had to offer. Balanced and well chiselled feminine skull, broad without any coarseness, well set on neck. Muzzle powerful, wide and deep, equal proportions and well balanced. Nose black in colour. Dark eyes set well apart in dark rims. Correct ear set level with eyes, moderate in size. Jaws strong with perfect and correct scissor bite. Good length of neck, clean and muscular. Forelegs straight, solid and with good bone. Good lay of shoulders, long in blade. Upper arm of equal length of shoulder, placing forelegs well under her body, with her elbows close fitting. Body is well balanced, short coupled, deep through the heart. Ribs deep and well sprung. Level topline, shown beautifully like a dream on the move and in a stack. Nice tuck up, lean and muscular. Loins and legs strong and muscular. Good second thigh, well bent stifle, hocks well let down, straight when viewed from the rear. Feet round, tidy and cat like which is great to see. Tail set carried level with back, reaching hocks nicely. Effortless movement, powerful with good drive, straight and true, with a long and free stride. Stunning golden coat with good feathering and dense water resistant undercoat. A real pleasure going over this girl today, I very much look forward to having the opportunity in future.

2nd – 527 – Kadaka Kalypso At Iscadu JW – Mrs M Leeming

A four year old bitch, who shows herself well, symmetrical and balanced throughout, showing kind and intelligent expression. Coat in wonderful condition with decent feathering and a dense water resistant undercoat. Feminine head, balanced and well chiselled, well set on neck. Muzzle powerful, wide and deep. Equal proportions of face, with nose black in colour. Eyes dark, set well apart in dark rims. Ears moderate in size, correctly set, level with eyes. Jaws strong, with perfect, complete scissor bite. Clean, muscular good length of neck. Forelegs straight with good bone and substance. Shoulders well laid back, long in blade. Wonderful front angulation placing forelegs well under body, elbows close fitting. Body balanced, short coupled, dee through the heart. Ribs deep and well sprung. Strong level topline shown wonderfully in the ring today. Loin and legs strong, and muscular with good second thighs. Well bent stifles, hocks well let down. Tidy round cat like feet. Tail set carried level with back, reaching hocks. Powerful drive from the rear, moved well making the most of the of the space in the ring, straight and true, just not quite as settled as my 1st today. A wonderful girl so thank you for entering her today.

Class 206 – Open – ¾

1st – 528 – Fairwinds In Space Man JW – Mrs S and Miss M Lewis

This three year old boy well what can I say he caught my eye with his presence the moment he entered the ring, his confidence in every move he makes, the bond between himself and his handler, he is well balanced, muscular and just lovely to look at and it just got better when I got my hands on him. His cream coat in fantastic condition with lovely feathering and texture, and a dense water resistant undercoat. Intelligent and friendly expression and biddable. Masculine, well chiselled head, broad, well balanced without being overdone, and well set on neck. Muzzle powerful, wide and deep. Equal proportions of length of foreface to length from stop to occiput . Nose black in colour. Dark eyes set well apart giving a kind, intelligent expression, in dark rims. Moderately sized ears set level with eyes. Jaws strong, with perfect, complete scissor bite. Clean muscular length of neck. Forelegs straight with good solid bone and substance. Shoulders long in blade, and well laid back. Wonderful front angulations placing forelegs well under his body, elbows close fitting. Balanced in body, short coupled, deep through heart. Ribs deep and well sprung. Strong level topline held beautifully in the ring today making a stunning silhouette on the move in the ring. Good muscle throughout. Loins and legs strong and muscular with good second thighs. Well bent stifles, hocks well let down, straight when viewed from rear. Feet neat and well kept, round and cat like. Tail carried flowing level with back, reaching hocks. Moves with ease around the ring, enjoying every second, producing power and drive, staying straight and true in the front and rear. His strides long and free he looks effortless. Wonderful to go over him today and award him BOB, I look forward to seeing him in future.

2nd – 537 – Hammerfield Legato Lullaby – Mr S F Pyne

This thirty two month old bitch is symmetrical, balanced with a kindly expression a very sweet girl indeed. Coat a beautiful cream colour in excellent condition, with a dense water resistant undercoat. Feminine head with well defined stop, balanced and browd with no coarseness, well set on neck. Muzzle powerful wide and deep, with equal proportions of her skull. Dark brown eyes set well apart in dark rims, giving kind intelligent expression. Ears moderate in size, correct for her size, set level with eyes. Jaws strong, with perfect and correct scissor bite. Length of neck is there and well muscled. Forelegs straight, solid and with good bone. Shoulders well laid back, long in blade, with upper arm of equal length placing forelegs well under her body. Short coupled, deep through her heart, ribs deep and well sprung. Good body with obvious waistline. Loin and legs strong, well muscled, with good second thigh. Well bent stifles, hocks well let down, straight when viewed from the rear. Feet nice and tidy, round and cat like which is great to see. Tail set correct carried level with back, length reaching her hocks nicely. Strong level topline shown well in the ring today. Less character on the move than 1st today but when focused she moved with power and drive, straight and true. She is a lovely girl but didn’t come out into her own today, might be a but distracted in the outdoor ring. Cannot wait to see her when she flips that switch to showgirl.
