Big thank you to the committee for the invitation to judge at their beautifully run show, and to all the exhibitors who came and made the day a very special one in the sunshine and enjoying our outdoor ring. A big show of appreciation to my ring steward who kept us in tip top shape and running smoothly, without people like you shows wouldn’t as amazing as they are so thank you for your time and laughter. It was great to see some amazing quality dogs, and people supporting each other, the way shows should be which was lovely to see and be a part of.

Class 198 – Puppy - 2/2
1st – 515 – Harpitts Black Pepper – Miss S M Judd
This stunning eleven month old black boy took my eye the moment he was in the ring, I am overjoyed that I got to judge him today. He is very happy and focused on his handler and job in hand in the ring, taking it all in his stride. Strongly built and also fit for purpose is something that I admire. Masculine head, skull broad with some maturing to do still, he is looking well proportioned, with a defined stop. Medium sized eyes giving him a lovely expression. Good ear set carries well when alert. Jaws strong with complete dentition with correct scissor bite. Clean and powerful, strong neck flowing into well placed shoulders. Shoulders long and well laid back, making front angulation correct, he is well constructed, placing well boned and straight forelegs well under the body. Great depth of chest with well sprung barrel ribs, maturing nicely. Loins wide and strong, short coupled. Level topline shown beautifully on the move. Hindquarters well developed and well muscled for his age, with well turned stifle, hocks well let down. Held himself well. Round compact feet with well arched toes and developed pads which is great to see. Tail is well covered with short thick dense black coat, thick towards the base, characteristic ‘otter’ tail appearance. Carried well on the move. Movement free and effortless covering ground with ease, a pleasure to watch. He has a wonderful short dense black double coat with weather resistant undercoat. A truly wonderful young lad who I am sure has a bright future ahead of him. It was a joy to go over him today and award him BP and then see him win Gundog Puppy Group 1, congratulations!
2nd – 509 – Salvator’s Hot Summer Rossacre – Mrs V Findjan
A very happy eight month old black bitch, who was a bit taken aback and over excited to be showing outside. I love her enthusiasm and drive, her tail didn’t stop for a second. She is strongly built but still feminine. A feminine head still maturing due to her age but with a defined stop. Clean with no fleshy cheeks, medium length of jaws. Nose wide, nostrils well developed. Medium sized eyes, giving a keen expression. Good ear set and size and in proportion. Correct dentition, with scissor bite with strong jaw developing well. Clean strong neck flowing into well placed shoulder. Not over exaggerated at all. Correct front angulation and proportions. Forelegs well boned and showing straight from elbow to ground. Good depth and width to chest, with some maturing to come to, she is looking well for a pup still so young. Well sprung barrel ribs, loins wide, short coupled and strong. Hindquarters well developed with good muscle, well turned stifle, hocks well let down. Round compact feet with well arched toes and developed pads. Tail didn’t stop wagging the entire time she was in the ring today, typical ‘otter’ tail thick towards the base with a thick covering of black short dense coat. Happy in movement, covering ground with ease, bouncy and bit over excited but I can see a lot of promise in this young pup. Short dense black double coat in great condition with a weather resistant undercoat, fit for purpose. I look forward to seeing this young bitch mature in the future.
