Breed: Dalmatian

DALMATIANS

My focus was for steady and economical movement as well as breed type. I moved the dogs a lot in the smaller space to warm them up and settle them.

PUPPY (6, 2ab)

Prefacing this as a tricky class of quality puppies and I was really splitting hairs between them.

1.REIDE-WEST’S JEMBLEWOOD NORTHERN STORK- 7m/o liver dog. Super puppy, with rich liver pigment. Broad masculine head, dark eyes and well-set ears. Strong front assembly. Plenty of bone, tight cat feet. Deep and capacious chest, ribs well sprung and carried well back. Moderate angulation. Well-balanced. Moved out straight and true, tracking correctly and keeping a level topline. Honest and economical in movement that belies his young age. Looking forward to seeing how he matures. In the challenge he continued to draw my eye and I could not deny him BOB and BPIB. Pleased to see he went Puppy Group 1 and watched him put in a foot-perfect performance in Best In Show.

2.GILL’S JEMBLEWOOD STORK OF SOLACE- 7m/o liver btch. Litter sibling to 1 and many of the same comments apply. Rich pigment and lovely soft expression. Dark eyes and well-set ears. Excellent front assembly. Plenty of bone, tight cat feet. Deep and capacious chest. Correct moderate angulation. Just a tiny bit behind her brother in maturity of movement with a little more puppy roll but demonstrating excellent drive. Could happily have taken her home.

GRADUATE (4,1A)

1.RICHARDSON’S PORTUNES ST JIMMY AT EXAYEEX JW- 19 m/o liver dog- One I have judged before and still really like. Maturing well. Lovely make and shape overall, with masculine broad head, elegant neck leading into well-defined withers. Well-muscled rear giving plenty of drive. Balanced and in proportion. Just felt his movement was slightly hampered by the small ring size and couldn’t quite stride out as I’ve seen before.

2.NOBLE’S REUBEDU SILENCE OF THE JAMS- 7 m/o black dog- another lovely puppy- plainer but handsome face. Elegant neck leading to well defined withers. Good forechest and strong front assembly. Plenty of bone. Tight cat feet. A little erratic on the move but once he’d warmed up and settled, he showed flashes of real promise, holding a level topline and showing good reach.

LIMIT (1)

1.VOCKING’s Bellehound Tipple at Portunes JW- 4 y/o Liver btch- One I’ve judged before. Her young handler worked to get the best out of her movement today. Correct feminine head, well set ears, dark eyes. Elegant neck, leading into well-defined withers. A good front balanced with a muscular rear. Tail set and carried correctly. Moved out straight and true, tracking up well and held her topline going around. In the challenge she drew my eye. A smashing partnership. RBOB.

OPEN (2,1)

1.NOBLE’s REUBEDU ACE OF SPADES- 4 y/o Black btch- Feminine correct head with moderate stop, well set ears and dark eye. Elegant neck, leading into well defined withers. A strong front. Well-muscled condition. Tight cat feet. Moved okay but would like to see her in a bigger ring.
