POLLARD CANINE SOCIETY

PREMIER OPEN SHOW

3RD MAY 2026

Thank you to the society for the invitation to judge at this friendly, well-run show and to my stewards for keeping proceedings running efficiently, even as the rain turned my judging slips into paper mache. Thank you to all exhibitors for bringing their dogs despite the downpour!

DALMATIANS

My focus was for correct movement as well as breed type. The weather did sadly affect some dogs by the time we came to final awards, but who can blame them. All dogs present could easily change places on another day.

PUPPY (3,2)

1.REIDE-WEST’S JEMBLEWOOD NORTHERN STORK- 10m/o Liver spotted male- One who I judged very recently and did well for. My comments still apply, a broad masculine head, rich amber eye, correct ears. Elegant neck leading into a strong front assembly with a deep and capacious chest, moderate angulation and well balanced. Starting to move towards junior development stage and losing the puppy weight but still looking well on it. His movement is true, tracking correctly and holding his topline. Although I was splitting hairs between my class winners today, I felt the rain just tempered his enthusiasm in the challenge. Awarded BPIB and hope to see him again as he matures.

JUNIOR (4,2)

1.MARLEY AND CLEMENT’S A SPOTTIFIED YOUNG FORSETI FOR PERDITA’S JW (IMP BEL)- 14m/o Liver Spotted Male- Rich bold pigment on a crisp white coat. A broad masculine head, correct ears carried well. Well-off for bone. Tight cat feet. A strong front assembly with a deep and capacious chest, well sprung ribs. Nicely angulated. On the move, the rain lit a spark under him and he was fresh and full of himself. Once he settled, he covered the ground effortlessly with excellent reach, balanced with powerful drive from his well muscled hindquarters. Held his topline well and looked a picture in profile. In the challenge he repeatedly drew my eye. BOB.

2.CLEMENT’S PERDITA’S BUBBLES AND FIZZ 14 m/o Black Bitch- a lovely head with a broad flat skull, retaining femininity and a soft, kind expression and dark eye. Long elegant neck into well defined withers. Good front assembly with ample forechest, leading to strong straight legs with plenty of bone. Deep and capacious chest, well sprung ribs. Moderate angulation. Well muscled hindquarters. Moved out straight and true, showing promising drive. Just wasn’t enjoying the weather today.

YEARLING (4,2)

AS JUNIOR

POST GRADUATE (4,1)

1.STUBBIN’S PERDITAS AURELIA 6YO Black Bitch- Initially a little unsure of being gone over but once settled she handled well. Bold dark spotting on a crisp white coat. An obvious feminine head, dark eye, ears carried well. Elegant neck leading into well defined withers. Strong front assembly. Ribs well sprung and carried well back. Nicely muscled hindquarters with good second thigh. She moved out straight and true and covered the ground well with plenty of reach and keeping a solid topline. Unfortunately she had just lost interest in proceedings by the challenge.

2.WILLISON’S COTTERSPOT COTTERDALE LADY 5YO Liver Bitch- An elegant feminine girl, finer all through than 1 but all muscle and in proportion. Rich liver spotting, amber eyes, nice ears framing a pretty head. Elegant neck leading to well defined withers. Nice front assembly with good depth of brisket. Tight cat feet. Ribs well sprung and carried well back. Correct tail set and carriage. She moved out straight with a fluid gait and covered the ground with ease. Very close up to 1.

3.KEMBREY’S DALMARK’S BANANA-RAMA

OPEN (4,3)

1.KEMBREY’S DALMARK’s THE ASH BLONDE- 5 YO Liver Bitch- Liked her correct feminine head, amber eye and ears carried well and used to advantage. Excellent front assembly with good forechest. Well-boned straight legs leading to tight cat feet. Well balanced with strong well-muscled hindquarters. Nicely angulation. She moved out straight and true and covered the ground with ease, maintaining a solid topline. She was consistent across both the class and challenge but just unlucky to come up against the younger male on form. RBOB.

2.STUBBIN’S PERDITA’S BEAN A STORMY RIDE JW 2YO Black Bitch- Made a lovely outline on the stand. Pretty face with lovely expression, super dark eyes and good ears used well. Strong front assembly with enough forechest. Slightly longer in loin. Strong hindquarters with good second thigh. On the move she could have been tidier out and back, but in profile covered the ground well showing excellent reach.

3.MARLEY AND CLEMENT’S PERDITAS ACT OF PARDON
