362. Junior Handling 6-11 years (9,3)

1st – Evie Johnson handling a Border Collie. Evie drew my attention from the moment she entered the ring. She was very calm and understated, allowing her dog to shine and demonstrating a great rapport throughout. Her dog was always stood four square whenever I was looking. On assessment, she confidently and clearly showed me all three sides of the teeth. Her triangle and up and down was very precise, moving her dog at the correct pace at all times, and she presented at the correct three paces away. A handler with a bright future ahead, keep up the good work!

2nd – Connor Morris handling a Siberian Husky. Another very impressive handler who is full of potential. I really liked how Connor continued to encourage his young dog throughout the class. He presented his dog to perfection, always making sure she was stood four square. He confidently showed me the teeth, showing all three sides. His triangle was very tidy, just his up and down not quite as straight as 1st and he presented just a pace too close, separating the two placings. I loved how he really maximised the ring space when he first came into the ring and when he joined on the end of the line. Another fantastic performance, well done!

3rd – Abigail Twigg handling a Kooikerhondje

363. Junior Handling 12-16 years (5,2)

1st Kendra Wilson handling a Standard Long Haired Dachshund. An absolutely perfect performance start to finish. A quiet handler who oozes confidence in the most understated way. No part of her performance felt rushed, which really gave her the edge here. She had her dog stood four square on the table, handled sympathetically throughout to show me all three sides of the teeth calmly and confidently. She also correctly identified the withers when asked. Her triangle and up and down were executed to tee and she was aware of me moving on the up and down, correctly swapping hands and completing the pattern work. She shadowed appropriately at all times, so my view of the dog was never obstructed. A flawless performance that would have given the adults a run for their money! Congratulations.

2nd Zoe Hudson handling a Basenji. Another handler showing great confidence in presenting her dog. On the table, she showed me all three sides of teeth with ease, and identified the withers correctly – to be picky, I would prefer she would have kept hold of the lead when showing the teeth, instead of dropping it. Her pattern work was clean and she correctly swapped hands on the up and down. Another who showed a good awareness of my positioning in the ring, shadowing well throughout. Well done.

3rd – Lacey Collins handling a Tibetan Spaniel
