Llandudno Canine Society Open Show

02.05.2026

Dachshund (All varieties)

Thank you to Llandudno Canine Society for inviting me to judge at their lovely open show at Ruthin Livestock Market.  I had a lovely day and was well looked after by my two very capable stewards.  There was a large outdoor ring for me to judge the dachshunds in, and the sun even made an appearance for us.  Thank you to all the exhibitors who brought their dogs along for me to judge.

Dachshund (Min Smooth-Haired)

G (2,0) 1. Dalton’s Beachdax Angel Of My Dreams At Llansansior – 9 month old black and tan bitch.  Long muscular neck, very smooth through the shoulder with a correct front assembly.  Already well-muscled throughout, with an excellent short dense coat. Full volumed thorax.  Moved freely in profile with a long stride in front and plenty of drive from the rear. BP and pleased to hear she went on to be awarded HPG3. 2. Jones’ Jenivon’s The Last Waltz – 7 month old well-proportioned black and tan dog. Correct amount of ground clearance and well-muscled rump. Very much liked his height to length ratio and substance. Moderately level topline which he held on the move. Moved ok.

O (3,0) 1. Dalton’s Llansansior Empress – Red bitch with a beautifully proud head carriage and plenty of ring presence. Correct front construction with enough return of upper arm. Moderately long. Full volumed thorax with plenty of heart and lung room. Well-muscled rump.  Moved freely and accurately up and back and when viewed in profile.  BOB. 2. Russell Price & Russell’s Teckeltown The Showman – Red dog who is slightly longer in body than 1.  Correct almond eye shape with high set ear and muscular neck.  Strong in bone with well-muscled rump. Moderately level topline when stacked.  Moved well. 3. Dalton’s Beachdax Thats Showbiz Baby At Llansansior.

Dachshund (Min Long-Haired)

G (1,0) 1.  Whitfield-Roberts’ Dandydayo Cowboy And Kisses – 10 month old shaded red dog who is excellent for size. Plenty of fore chest with a well laid back shoulder and correct return of upper arm.  Moderately long in body, with plenty of heart and lung room. Plenty of ground clearance. Moved well. BP and delighted to hear he went HPG1.

O (1,0) 1. Dalton’s Llansansior On The Rocks – Cream dog with an eye catching well-proportioned head. Skull slightly arched with a slight stop and almond eye shape.  Strong jaw and teeth with correct dentition.  Well bodied, with plenty of ground clearance and has a correct height to length ratio. Correct rear angulation. Beautiful soft and straight coat. Moved free and easy when viewed in profile. BOB and delighted he went on to be awarded HG2.
