Birtley & District Canine Society – 11 April 2026

Staffordshire Bull Terriers

Judge: Dawn Jamieson‑Bramley

Junior (9, 3 abs)

1st – Uggeldahl Liden & Mickleborough, Delight Spot’s Isidor (Imp SWE)

A striking black/brindle dog who immediately caught the eye with his well‑boned frame and natural balance. His head is beautifully shaped, the dark eyes soft yet alert, and the muzzle length just right to give harmony to the expression. Defined cheek bumps and well‑set shoulders flow into a strong, purposeful rear. He moved with an easy rhythm, holding his outline with confidence and maturity beyond his age.

2nd – Walsh & Lloyd, Crowstaff Seize the Day for Weorc

A feminine black/brindle bitch with white chest and toes, radiating quality the moment she entered the ring. Her lovely headpiece, clean stop and dark, intelligent eyes give her a bright, engaging expression. She shows good rib for her age and is clearly kept in excellent condition. On the move she was spirited and driven, covering the ground with enthusiasm.

3rd – Marsden, Jayneze All or Nothing at Modlife

Another appealing black/brindle youngster with white chest and toes. At just 9 months she already shows the makings of a promising future. Her head is attractive and balanced, shoulders clean, and she carries a good rib and topline. Sound and steady on the move, she impressed with her composure. Best Puppy in Breed.

Post Graduate (10, 2 abs)

1st – Welch & Lloyd, Geordiestoon Defiant Boy for Weorc

A black/brindle dog with white chest and front legs who exudes quality from nose to tail. Presented in superb fitness, he is a picture of strength without coarseness. His head is lovely, with correct muzzle length and defined cheek bumps that frame a super expression from dark, keen eyes. Well‑set ears, a strong chest and shoulders, balanced rib and a light loin all contribute to his pleasing outline. Good bend of stifle and purposeful movement sealed his place. Best of Breed.

2nd – Hall, Fellendbull Foxhall

A black dog of a stronger type than the winner, yet still retaining a well‑shaped head with enough muzzle to balance his features. Shoulders are well placed, giving him a straight, honest front. He shows a good spring of rib and moved nicely, keeping his outline steady and controlled.

3rd – Phillips, Geordiestoon Queen of Fury

Open (12, 3 abs)

1st – Reynolds, Ch. Niatona Wreck It Ralph

A red and white dog of excellent breed type who commands attention with his presence. His head is strong and well proportioned, the expression softened by dark eyes and well‑set ears. He boasts a broad, straight front, a strong neck and well‑sprung ribs, all flowing into well‑muscled hindquarters. Shown in great condition, he moved with purpose and authority. Reserve Best of Breed.

2nd – Bennett, Sikaistaff Thug Rose for Elmissico

A quality black/brindle bitch full of femininity. Her head is balanced with dark, well‑shaped eyes, a defined stop and neat cheek bumps. Shoulders are correctly placed, giving her a straight front, and her hindquarters are well shaped. She moved around the ring with ease and grace.

3rd – Marsden, Jayneze Doctor Jimmy at Modlife

My sincere thanks to Birtley & District Canine Society for the invitation, and to my stewards, Nikita Walbey and Tommy Hall, whose calm professionalism and good humour made the day a pleasure from start to finish.
