West Midland Terrier Society

West Midland Terrier Society

Saturday 14th February 2026

Thank you to the society for inviting me to judge Airedale and Welsh Terriers at your well-run show. There was a super atmosphere, and I really enjoyed my day. Thanks also to my friend Shirley Steinke who had driven me to the show. I was delighted to see that my Airedale Terrier Best of Breed went Reserve Best in Show.

Welsh Terrier

Limit (1 entry)

1st. Watkin-Jones Westpenn Just for You. Four-year-old bitch of workmanlike proportions with flat skull and good strong jaws, OK eye and expression and ears could be a touch higher set. Strong neck going into well set shoulders with good round feet. Nice short body with plenty of rib and good well angulated hindquarters. Nice jacket and overall condition. Moved OK, sound although would like a touch more drive behind. Stood alone today. Best of breed.

Airedale Terrier

Puppy (2 entries, 1 absent)

1st. Hampton and Hall’s Muliebrity Stormy Waters. Quality 9-month-old male with super head, lovely flat skull with powerful jaws and nice dark eye. Good ears well set going into a clean strong neck with well laid shoulders, good bone for age and excellent feet. Ribs of good depth and spring for age with nice short coupling and balanced hindquarters with good bend of stifle. Lovely front movement with excellent coat texture and colour. Best Puppy and Reserve Best of Breed.

Junior (1 entry)

1st. Hampton and Hall’s Muliebrity Sunshine. 17-month-old bitch just going through that teenage stage of growth. Feminine head, although eye a touch rounder than I’d like. Good ears and nice length of neck going into good shoulders. Balanced forequarters and good feet. Nice topline with well bent stifles and good hindquarters overall. Good coat texture and colour. Still needs to mature in body and not quite as together on the move. Showing plenty of promise, however.

Open (1 entry)

1st. Toulson’s Ch Toulsyork Uttterly Bonded. Quality stallion male with super masculine head and fiery terrier expression. Lovely strong jaws and well-placed ears. Strong clean neck going into well laid shoulders with correct return of upper arm and good feet. Well sprung ribs with good depth of chest and strong short loin. Well angulated hindquarters which he used well on the move giving drive and propulsion. Super hard jacket with good colour and in excellent hard muscle condition. A quality exhibit and happy to award Best of breed. Congratulations to his owners on winning Reserve Best in Show.
