From a large and quality line up my Best In Show was Woodham’s Flat Coated Retriever Kulawand Casanova, Reserve was Anderson’s Weimaraner Gunalt Gift of The Gab. Group 3 went to McDonald’s IRWS Sh Ch Roanjora Cremant D’Alsace and Group 4 to Bradley’s IWS Sh Ch Stanegate Stage Debut. Close decisions all round but the Flatcoat just had the extra sparkle at the right moment. The Weimaraner was full of breed type and quality without excess. The other two have been successful when I have judged previously and no reason to change my opinion on them. Both quality exhibits who deserve their titles.

Best Puppy in show was Coghlan’s Bracco Bracchinis Absolute Drama, reserve to Benge’s Clumber Bona Fama Kaprys Rejenta. PG3 was Tucker’s Eng Setter Walshaw Takes to The Stage and PG4 was Murray’s Field Span Sonnetend Money For Nothing. All showing promise and worthy representatives, developing along the right lines and shown in good condition, moving at the correct pace for their breeds and showing themselves to advantage.

German Wirehaired Pointer

Puppy (1)

1 Pickering’s Firfame My Boy Ajax

Just 6 months and although quite raw at the moment, shows plenty of promise. Well shaped headwoth good reach of neck. Firm in top line for his age. Moving with plenty of rear extension and carrying his tail well. Correct coat for his age.

Post Grad (2, 1 abs)

1 Pickering’s Huntstaff Henrika

At 6 years is mature and was in super muscular condition. Dark in eye with an alert expression. He is well ribbed and is short from hock to foot. He moved well enough here. Reserve BoB.

Open (2,1)

1 Bora Dreams of Little Prince I made this two year old my Best of Breed here. Blanced in head with strong jaw. Good neck leads to well boned fornt and well ribbed body. Strong over the quarters, she has a good width of thigh. Moved freely and easily, She was shown in good coat.

Large Munsterlander

Open (2)

1 Powell and Murrell’s Sh Ch Crumpsbrook Woodrush

One I have admired and had the privilege of judging on previous occasions. Now 8 years old, he is as sound as ever and so good to go over. Correct head proportions with strng neck and balanced body with nothing out of place. Moving straight and true here to win Best of Breed. Later topped super veteran stakes and consequently Best Veteran In Show.

2 Powell and Murrell’s Tureagh Crystal Cider

This 5 year old girl has plenty to admire. She has a balanced head with good eyes and well placed ears. She is well ribbed and has decent rear angulation. She moved steadily. I preferred the overall balance of the winner.

Field Spaniels

Puppy (1)

1 Murray’s Sonnetend Money For Nothing

Almost 12 months and looking right for her age. Long lean head with defined occiput and low set ears. Strong in neck and well ribbed back. She has super rear angulation and moved freely. Best Puppy and later PG4 in good company.

Sp Yearling (1)

1 Young and Nunn’s Brynnyth Elysian

Two year old with a kind expression and low set ears. Good neck and well angulated shoulders. Firm in topline which she held well on the move.

3 Brynnyth Elysian

Open (7,4)

A class does not have to be large to be tricky to judge. Plenty to like about all three present.

1 Tye’s Irisbel The Greatest Showman at Tymora

At 4 is maturing well and presents a lovely balanced picture stacked and on the move. Lovely outline with refined head, strong neck of good length and sloping shoulders fitting well onto his ribs. Firm over the couplings giving a correct top line He has plenty of width to his quarters. In lovely body and coat. Best of Breed.

2 Osborn’s Elgert Blackpink

Another top quality field. Lacking the maturity of the winner but has so many virtues. Correctly balanced head with good stop and low set ears. Straight front with enough width for her age. Well angulated front and rear. She moved well, especially in profile. RBoB.

3 Adams’ Irisbel English Rose

Import register

Sp yearling (1)

1 Lewis’ Huntingtales Harpun Slovakian RHP

At 14 months is showing promise. Masculine head with typical expression. Good reach of neck. He is well boned through. Just lacking a bit of confidence here to do himself justice. He should improve with experience.

2 Walden’s Am Cocker Geenawell Gilmore Girl for Taramount

Hard to believe that this girl is 14. A credit to her owner as she is in good coat and body. Balanced through with correct front and nicely sloping top line. Moving to rival some of those much younger.
