A V SUE PIGGOTT MEMORIAL OPEN STAKES

1. Spring-Arnolds’ HYNDSIGHT CHANGES Deerhound Caught my eye as she came in the ring for her overall balance and lightness of foot. Classical outline, such a feminine head with kind eye, nice length and strength of neck set into clean shoulders. Deep chest, and used her nicely angulated hindquarters to effect on the move in the ring.

2. Longhursts’ ABBEYHURST DANCING QUEEN JW A very pretty whippet, on top edge of size for me, but so balanced and at one with her handler. Clean sweeping lines throughout and lovely footfall on the move, lovely bitch.

3. Strattons’ MULTI CH JUSTARTEE THIS IS ME JW Basenji

BORZOI

Post graduate (2, 0)

1. Shakespeares' MENIGMA CRAZY ABOUT HER WITH CARIDEAN Feminine and moderate bitch with nice proportions. FIne head, good veining, well filled below eyes, nicely sized neat ears, strong neck, deep chest and well ribbed back, would prefer tad more return of arm. Cleaner on the move than 2. BOB

2. Parsons' GO GO BOLSHOI SWEETEST TABOO (IMP Hung) Very feminine head, neat ears, good neck. Chest still needs to drop a little, but very young. Nice shoulders and forequarters. Has nice light side gait, but today a little loose in her front movement but young. Preferred her pasterns and feet to winner. Be interesting to see her in a couple years time.

CIRNECO DELL’ETNA

Post Graduate (2, 0)

1. McDonnells TRIQUETRA’S HOLLY BERRY Lovely bitch of such nice proportions, lean and keen head, with super expression. Still very young at 20 months. Ears held well, lovely neck set into clean shoulders. Lovely balanced correct proportions to body. Still more to come from this bitch, but I think will trouble the best when fully mature RBOB

2. Austin and Rogers KINABULA’S EKANITE Lots to like on this hound, has a pleasing masculine head with good chiselling, nice shape to eye and ears. Good neck, would prefer elbows to be held under body a little more as a tad wide in front. Moved out nicely in profile.

Open (1, 0)

1. McDonnells’ TRIQUETRA’S NUTCRACKER Littermate to winner of first class, similar comments apply, but today he is far further forward in maturity and confidence in the ring. Expressive head, ears held high, lovely neck and shoulders. Perhaps on top edge of size, but once he matures will hopefully settle back into his frame. BOB

HARRIER

Small in numbers but such quality in this entry, lovely balanced correct sized hounds. I really enjoyed going over them

Post Graduate (3, 1)

1. Agaches’ EVFORCE LEELOU LINA Such a well balanced hound, with no exaggerations. Had good bone, sweet expression to head, clean cheeks, wide nostrils and good underjaw. Good length to neck with nice crest, clean shoulders and good return of arm. Good strong feet, and topline held well on the move, with good drive from the rear. Clean easy mover RBOB

2. Agaches’ EVA VON HOBBIT FOR EVFORCE Sweet girly, who was showing her 12 years, however still had a nicely balanced outline, good skull, nose and neck. Deep chest, well ribbed back. Moved out nicely

Open (4, 1)

1. ROSS DEMON FOR EVFORCE WW Cracking dog, who whilst keeping within size limit managed to combine strength with quality. Typical and expressive head. I liked his strong neck, not too long, good front and excellent topline. Powered around the ring and enjoyed watching his free striding yet not exaggerated action BOB

2. EVFORCE EVITA LA VIE EN ROSE. Another quality hound, lots to like here, preferred the winners head proportions, lovely outline, strong topline and loin, nice easy free mover

3. EVFORCE QUEEN OF NABOO

BAVARIAN MOUNTAIN HOUND

Post Graduate (1, 0)

1. Youngs’ RUBY JACK. Fit 7 year old hound. Expressive head with well defined stop, good sized nostrils. Ears nicely rounded at tips and held close. Well muscled throughout, nice straight front and held under body well, with slight spring to pastern. Nice strong topline and ribbed well back, super hindquarters. Excellent mover, so true both fore and aft. BOB

Open (1, 0)

1. Stranges AMENEDIELS FRANKIES CHOICE AT CAZDACHS Nice type of hound, with attractive head, broad skull and decent stop. Good sized nostrils. Nicely proportioned body, good sweep of underline and ribbed well back. Would just prefer straighter forelegs and stronger pasterns to complete the picture. Strong hindquarters with good angulation in rear. Presented in super jacket RBOB
