Shih Tzu Club
Shih Tzu Club, Open Show. Sunday 15th Feb, 2026.
Many thanks to the Committee for the opportunity to judge this show &
your lovely breed, one that I have had a keen interest in for many years, friendly
& well run with a happy atmosphere, having two shows running concurrently
takes some organising.
Thank you also to my lovely, efficient stewards, Margaret & Tony for
the smooth running order of the ring.
Every single exhibit was turned out in immaculate coat & condition
with every single one a joy to meet & go over.
Bitches.
Minor Puppy.
– (3)1a
1st – Diffey’s – Marhilway Little Bit Of
Edge.
One that’s
very upstanding & forward for her young 7mths, lovely developing face &
headshape, strong level topline with head & tail held well both standing
& on the move, evenly spaced between legs on the front & rear with good
amount of muscletone , moved well up on her toes using a swift easy action, showed
a strong profile for one so young.
2nd – Tullett’s – Sassyshi So Beautiful.
Again, 7mths
young girl more demure than 1st placing, good length of neck & correct
shoulder placement, of a sweet nature & happy disposition, first time in
the ring for both with handler executing the ring very well, kept her distance
& moved her youngster with a steady even controlled pace, presented her in
a super clean well-groomed coat & condition.
Puppy. – (5)1a
1st – Baldwin’s – Snowshoes Lady
Penelope For Maili.
Outstanding youngster
for 11mths showing a beautiful head & expression, of good construction
& conformation throughout, evenly marked face with full whiskering &
correctly placed features, shows a balanced outline with good length of neck going
on to a level topline & tail held up over her back, very sound mover using
a good striding action balanced & precise, turned out in full immaculate
coat of striking rich g/white colour, definitely one to watch in the future. Best Puppy Bitch & Best Puppy In Show.

Tullett’s – Sassyshi So Beautiful.
3rd – Smith’s – Snowshoes Black Bettie.

femininity & compactness for age with nothing out of context at this stage
of development, face full of character lively & expressive with typical
features, nice spring of rib, strong back, even rear quarters & tight round
feet, moved with a determined speed & good driving action, handled well
& presented in lovely full clean coat,
2nd – Bevan’s – Kaffdans Princess Lana.
Of slightly
more maturity than 1st sporting a well whiskered face &
expression that gives her an air of grace & nobility, body of good development
& construction with height & length in context, steadier on the move
than 1st but used nice even
tracking from the rear, presented in full natural parti coat with tail fully
over her back.
3rd – Finnanger’s – Eastfane’s Jubilee
Ballet Danser.
Yearling. – (3)1a
1st – Brown’s – Rossvale’s Got The Look.

beautifully, sound construction of body with deep chest, even width between
front & rear legs, tight neat feet, defined second thigh & strong hocks,
she moved with a long, balanced stride that comes straight from the shoulders,
holds herself with natural poise, viewed from the front & in profile showed
a classic true breed picture that one simply cannot ignore. Res. Best Bitch.

One, again, with
a lovely sweet nature & happy disposition oozing femininity & charm, nicely
developed compact body not overdone nor extreme, elbows tight in to shoulders, ribs
well back with short loin & well-rounded rump, moved sound & true with
a steady even gait sympathetically handled & shown in a beautiful full

Novice. – (3)0a
1st – Finnanger’s – Eastfane’s Jubilee
Ballet Danser.
Young up
& coming girl with a kind face & lovely expression, held herself better
having got the experience of her previous class & was more confident when
moving, drew herself up & showed her aloofness on the table which highlighted
her true breed outline well.
2nd – Diffey’s – Marhilway Little Bit Of
Edge.
My 1st
placing from min. puppy & shows her qualities off well, a little bewildered
in this class as she is very young still but moved with animation & drive
with experienced handler gently guiding her & giving her good experience
& more confidence.
3rd – Smith’s – Snowshoes Black Bettie.
Sp
Beginners. – (3)1a
1st – Tullett’s – Sassyshi So Beautiful.
Both
exhibitors & exhibits very much beginners, first time for all in this show
today & with very young girls on the end of the leads, presentation of both
exhibits was immaculate, well done to both.
Navigated the
ring very well & demonstrated good ringcraft skills & show ability, presented
her girl on the floor & table with minimal intervention then moved in a
precise & methodical manner making the most of the whole ring, her girl
stayed a nice distance from her as she moved with confident manner in unison with
her handler.
2nd – Rose’s – Areaniea Dumbledore.
Again, this
handler executed the ring procedure very well & showed off her b/white girl
to best advantage well, both appeared to enjoy the occasion & were not
fazed or nervous, ( not many start their show career at a breed club show) handler
was confident with the youngster who showed up to the occasion & was a joy
to watch, one piece of advice I can offer though is always remember is to keep
one eye on your dog & one eye on the judge.
P. Grad. – (6)4a
1st – MacDonald’s – Hin Chen’s Jewel in
the Crown At Centastage.
One of good quality
& development, shows strong feminine features & true breed
characteristics that stand out superbly, very fit & muscled body showing
true conformation all round, elbows kept tight in to shoulders keeping her
movement true, ribs well sprung & laid back, short loin, overall height
& length in balanced proportion highlighting her strong topline & tailset
well, rear quarters even between legs with hard second thigh’s & good lay
back of the hocks, she moved with a lovely balanced gait & spring from the
pasterns covering the ring with an easy pace, one of five today that could have
easily taken the best bitch award, handled with quiet control & shown in a
full natural coat.
2nd – Hiscock’s – Ethelsmead Working
Girl At Shidizzle.
Endearing &
sweet natured girl more petite in size than 1st placing, lovely
typical ‘chrysanthemum‘ face & features, very alert & wilful, good amount
of bone on the leg going down to tight neat feet, developed body compact & with
right amount of muscletone, her profile showed her balanced & in proportion,
moved well at first striding off up the ring then her concentration span went
out the window so couldn’t fully assess her movement sadly, but was she beautifully
turned out in fully furnished full coat & was lovely to go over.
Limit. – (2)1a
1st – Galliford & Keree -Bartolo’s –
Sassyshi Cake By The Ocean With Shirkeira.
Honest
unassuming female that’s all there & very true to standard, attractive
feminine head & facial features all in lovely context, well developed chest
& ribs, quality breeding which shows out & gives an outline that is
pleasing on the eye, all round dimensions prove nothing untoward or extreme
about this girl & true conformation stands out, as with her movement that
was balanced & perfectly executed with an extended forward reach, handled
well & presentation was immaculate with fully furnished gold coat, in the
line up for best bitch there were five who could have taken the honour &
decisions were down to the one on the day as the quality was so high & she
was one of those.
Open. – (5)2a
1st – Yorke & Keree -Bartolo’s – Ch.
Middletune Modesty Blaise. Jw.
Everything
about this cracking g/white female is honest & sound, with correct eyes,
full black nose with wide open nostrils, full development & construction of
body conforming superbly to the standard, neck of correct length going on to a
strong level back with her tail flowing off & nicely carried over all
times, right amount of bone & muscle in proportion to body size, very hard
to fault any part of her, holds her topline & shows off a true breed
outline naturally, very sound & balanced when moving using an even steady
controlled gait that comes from a good spring of the pasterns, came up to
another level in the line up which gave her the edge today, presented in fully whiskered
coat & handled superbly she was in no doubt deserving of her awards today. Best Bitch, Best Opp Sex & Res Best in
Show.
2nd – Finnanger’s – Eastfane’s Garam Masala.
Slightly
more compact in frame than 1st placing but by no means lacking in
qualities, head & face showing correct eye shape & colour, full round
nose with good open nostrils, mouth with correct bite & dentition, full whiskering
& ears well placed framing her face elegantly,
sound construction & conformation all round with correct shoulder
angulation & deep chest down to the elbows, shows off a typical feminine

Goddess.
Vet. – (2)0a
1st – Yorke & Keree -Bartolo’s – Ch.
Middletune Flame Of Gold.
7yrs of age
to me is one at full maturity & development not, by any means old but in
their full prime, this beautiful golden girl is certainly that, very lively
& sprightly, tail never stopped for a second, no stiffness in the joints or
signs of ageing showing clear eyes & good dentition, still very fit &
strong all round which showed out in her superb movement & fluid striding
action, still shows the classic stature off
which is what makes a good Champion, presented in full immaculate gold coat she stills proves to be
an eyecatcher. Best Vet Bitch & Best Vet in Show.
2nd – Francis’s – Elzu Ebony And Ivory.
Of similar
age to 1st but with face showing a bit more age, dentition not at
its best now but her body condition’s in good shape with no sign of extra
weight, elbows not so tight in to her shoulders, movement was steady but intermittent,
shown in nice fully feathered well
groomed coat & handled with kind sympathy, sweet natured girl with a lovely
happy disposition.
Sp Trimmed/Cut
down. – (3)1a
1st – Tod’s – Cedarhythe Rumours Darlin At
Kengai.
My surprise
of the day, at 8yrs young one can see how fit & well-muscled this girl is still,
beautiful head shape, ears set well on, nice width & evenness of front, ample
bone on the legs going down to tight round feet, well accentuated rib & neat
waistline, being trimmed down really highlighted her absolutely sound balanced
movement as she really strode across the ring using an extended reach straight
from the shoulders, a very happy jaunty alert girl that was a joy to watch on
the move.
2nd – De La Cour’s – Cavateena Situla
Scarlet For Lavril.
One happy
bouncy enthusiastic young lady full of appeal & charm, bright round darkest
of eyes well placed, full black nose with open nostrils, correct bite &
dentition with strong jaw, excellent shoulder placement, just carrying a bit of
extra weight over the withers & ribs today but never stopped her from
moving at a fair pace around the ring, good extension on the move with nice
forward reach, stood well up on her pasterns & certainly enjoyed her time
in the ring.
