Junior (1,1)

1. Miss J Childs. Gwendariff Grace Kelly.

13 month old bitch

A very appealing bitch of lovely outline and balance, presenting a classic, elegant picture of the breed. She has a pleasing head with good length and clean lines, complemented by a kind expression.

On the move she is free and fluent, covering the ground well with a steady topline and balanced action fore and aft. Her coat is of good colour and presented in excellent condition.

Still very much immature at present, but she has all the right pieces in place—once she strengthens and everything comes together, she should make a very nice exhibit.

Post Graduate (2,2)

1. Mrs R A Webb. Alolfrana Whole Lotta Love with Redeshka.

3year old bitch

A young lady full of quality and breed type who immediately catches the eye with her racy, balanced outline. She possesses a beautiful, refined head with a lean foreface and a kind, intelligent expression framed by dark, well-pigmented eyes. Her clean, arched neck flows seamlessly into well-laid shoulders and a solid, sloping topline. She has a deep chest with well-sprung ribs for her age and stands on strong, flat-boned forelegs.

Angulation is balanced throughout, showing excellent return of stifle and well-let-down hocks. Presented in a gleaming, rich-coloured coat that was easily the best-turned-out of the day. On the move, she covered the ground effortlessly with a free, springy gait, maintaining her topline and showing excellent uphill movement with reach and drive. A true showgirl who showed her socks off to earn Best of Breed.

2. Miss G Evans & Mr A Lloyd – Jones. Clonageera Honey Honey at Blodaugoch.

3 year old bitch

A well-balanced bitch with a lovely feminine head and kind eye. She presents a pleasing expression with well-raised brows and a clearly defined occiput. Her reach of neck is adequate, flowing into a firm topline. She has a good depth of chest, is well-ribbed, and stands on tight feet with good bone. While I would prefer to see a more pronounced sloping topline, her angulation is moderate and she moved around the ring with ease, handled nicely to show off her good coat and condition, however, on the day, she just lacked the clean definition of underline and depth of brisket seen in the winner, which ultimately decided the final placing.

Open (3,2)

1. Mrs R A Webb & MRs R Danks – Kemish. Alolfrana Azzaro Beside Redeshka.

7 year old dog

A stallion of a dog who presents a truly classic outline. Balanced, racy, and still carrying that essential air of elegance despite his maturity. Refined, chiselled head with a kind, intelligent expression and correct ear set. Clean, flowing neck into well-placed shoulders and a firm, level topline which he held with ease on the move. Deep chest and good spring of rib. Strong, muscular hindquarters used to great effect, covering the ground with an effortless, rhythmic stride. Reserve Best of Breed; just lost out to the BOB on movement today, as the BOB showed more drive from the rear, whereas this boy was slightly narrower behind. Presented in beautiful coat and condition.

2. Mr M Ricchards. Redclyst Captain Kidd.

Rising 5 year old dog.

A stylish dog of pleasing overall shape. He presents a lovely outline on the stand with a long, lean head, though I found his stop a little more exaggerated than ideal. Good length of neck flowing into well-placed shoulders and a deep chest, though he could have carried a touch more weight to complete the picture. He has good bone, though his pasterns were slightly too sloped and feet not as tight as I would like. Possesses sound rear angulation and, when settled, moved with a free and easy ground-covering stride. A good rapport with his handler which is always nice to see
