Golden Retriever

Puppy (2.1)

1st McCammick’s Saffdales Countess Cora

Feminine bitch of nine months handled well and presented in rich golden coat. Balanced in head and her dark eyes have the sweetest expression. She possesses a straight front, neat round feet. decent depth to chest and spring of rib for her stage of development. Her short level back leads to good tail set, with nice angulation to rear and short hocks. She moved really well and happily lashing her tail. She conducted herself really well in the Group. Special Yearling (7.1)

Lovely class to judge.

1st Knight’s and Cooke’s Haydengold Backchat JW

Twenty-one-month-old male presented a pleasing picture, handled well and shown in lovely coat and condition. Has a handsome head, broad skull, dark expressive eyes, his ear set and dentition are correct. Good length to neck which fitted well into his shoulders. Straight forelegs led down to neat round feet. Nicely sprung ribs, depth to brisket and neat at elbow. He possesses good front and rear angulation with width to thigh, and decent bend of stifle. Well off for bone and muscle tone. He moved well with good footfall and drive from rear.

2nd Mear’s Ambersun Winter Storm JW

Another lovely male this time of twenty months. Liked his outline and handsome head. Shorter coupled that first, balanced and pleasing in overall construction, bone, and muscle tone. His neck fitted into good lay of shoulder, with a level short back leading to correct tail set and tail of correct length. He has good depth to his chest and ribs are well sprung, elbows close to body, good bend of stifle and straight hocks. Shown in lovely coat and condition. He moved well just not the animation of 1st.

Post Graduate (2:1)

1st Middleton-Collins’ Berrymeade Dream On With Jasperleigh JW SGWC

This male appealed to me for his overall construction and balance. Not over done in any way! Presented in lovely coat with ample feathering and handled to perfection. Most handsome in head, pleasing expressive dark eyes, and correct ear set. Straight forelegs of good length and well placed under his body. Clean muscular neck fitted neatly into his shoulders; front angulation was good with pronounced sternum and his elbows close fitting. Possesses depth to brisket, well sprung ribs, and level topline. Obviously ‘no couch potato’ the muscle tone and rear angulation of this lad enabled him to drive around the ring with ease. Pleased to award him BOB and showed himself off well in a strong Gundog Group and was shortlisted. Well done!

Limit (1:0)

Lovely male, pleasing in head, his eyes and rims are dark, black nose and ears set correct. He showed the desired temperament and expression. Presented in good coat and finish. Balanced in outline, with level topline and good tail set. Overall, his construction, angulation front and aft was good and he was well off for bone and muscle tone. Nicely sprung ribs, depth to chest and neat at elbow. Handled to advantage and he moved soundly covering the ground well. RBOB.

1st Middleton-Collin’s Berrymeade A Fool In Love Of Jasperleigh JW

Kennel mate to my BOB, so presentation and handling of this lad was as I expected. A mature boy shown in profuse coat and feathering. I did like his balanced outline. His head is also balanced with good width and depth to his muzzle. His muscular neck fitted neatly into his shoulders and front angulation was good with his forelegs placed well under his body. Straight front and elbows close to body. Deep in chest and ribs well sprung. Nicely angulated rear quarters and short strong hocks. He moved well with good forward reach and drive from the rear. Just a tad proud of his tail on the day.
