ENGLISH SETTER

Puppy (3.1)

1st Tucker’s Walshaw Takes To The Stage (BP AND BPIS 3)

Quality blue bitch of seven months. I liked her outline and overall balance. Well reared, has good bone and muscle tone for her age. Presented in good coat and handled to advantage. Pretty head, balanced, oval skull, dark expressive eyes, and low set ears. Has good angulation, short level back and good tail set. Straight forearms and neat at elbow. She moved well holding her tail correctly. Pleased to hear she won BPIS3. Congratulations.

2nd Tucker’s Walshaw Star Struck

Litter sister to 1st so much applies. Like her sister she has a nice head, ears are low set and close to her cheeks. Nice black nose, dark expressive eyes, and correct dentition. She presents a nice outline whilst stood, just a tad finer than 1st. Good coat with ample feathering for her age. Decent depth to her chest, level short back, and good tail set. Moved ok.

Special Yearling (2.0)

1st Thacker’s Peritye Follow The Sun (RBOB)

Orange male of fifteen months. Handled well and presented in good coat and condition. Handsome in head with expressive eyes, low set ears, defined stop and his muzzle has good finish. Lean neck , short level back, length of tail and set was good. Good bend to stifles and neat feet. Moved well with his head carried high.

2nd Wynne-Evans Droveborough One Love

Tri bitch of 1 year. Nicely presented and clean in outline. Pretty head, dark oval eyes, and low set ears. Has good depth to chest and spring of rib. Good width and depth between her shoulder blades. Well-presented and in good coat. Moved with drive from the rear.

Post Graduate (5.3)

1st Sykes’ Sharnyx Springtime At Daraquist (BOB)

Orange bitch was presented in good coat and ample feathering. Pleasing in outline and handled well. Feminine head and dark oval eyes giving the typical expression we love in this breed. Her neck fits neatly into her shoulders, short, level back, stifles have good bend and straight hocks. Straight forelegs led to neat feet. Happy girl, she moved well with good drive and lashing her tail. Pleased to hear she was shortlisted in a strong lineup. Well done!

2nd Brown’s Merleycopse Cinder Ella To Baystrider

Blue bitch was presented in good coat, bit of a fidget but feel this was due to the heat on the day. I preferred the head of 1st, but this bitch has the sweetest of expression in her dark eyes. She has a short back and level topline. Good depth to her chest, bend of stifle and neat feet. Has overall good bone and muscle tone. Bit unsettled on the move.

GORDON SETTER

Puppy (1:0)

1ST Mazzeo and Warren’s Benbuie’s Last Affair TAF (BPIB)

Promising eight-month-old bitch who was presented in gleaming coat and handled sympathetically which is good to see! Obviously reared well with good bone and muscle tone for her age. Straight forearms and nice oval feet. Lean neck of good length fits well into her shoulders. Level back, decent spring of rib and well set on tail. Good bend to stifle and short hocks. Liked her head, low set ears, and bright eyes. Moved well, just needs to tighten up.

Special Yearling (1:0)

1st Clark’s DJ BEE Black Ivy (IMP POL)

Twenty-one-month-old bitch handled well and shown in rich coal black coat. Feminine in head, dark eyes showing typical expression. Ears set low, close to her head and has good finish to her muzzle. Good depth to brisket, ribs well sprung, level back and good tail set. Straight front and neat feet. Would prefer a bit more bend to stifle. Moved well.

Post Graduate (3:1)

1st Tye’s Roydack Black Knight at Tymora

Handsome male presents a nice outline and was shown in lush coat and condition.

Straight forelegs, with good bone led down to oval tight feet. He has good spring to his ribs and chest is deep in brisket. Nicely angulated front and rear. Good set of tail and length. Well off for bone and good muscle tone. Moved well.

2nd Sandiford’s Hernwood Will Love You

Three-year-old bitch presented in lovely coat and finish. Handled well. Feminine head, expressive dark eyes, and low set ears. Has decent depth to chest and spring of rib. Good bend of stifle and tail set. Moved nicely with tail held correctly.

Open (2:0)

1st Sandiford, Sandiford & Mazzeo’s Eusanit Marcella At Hernwood (BOB)

What a ‘Show Girl’! Smart looking bitch made a lovely outline whilst stood and handled to perfection. Lovely to go over, nicely constructed with good angulation to front and rear. Lean neck fits neatly into her shoulders, good length to back and level topline which she maintained on the move. She moved with good footfall and drive from rear quarters.

Should have a bright future. Pleased to hear she was later shortlisted in the challenge for BIS.

2nd Ede’s Burroughtof of Loch Leven at Glenarden (RBOB)

Made a genuinely nice picture with his outline and handsome head. Has overall good construction. Straight front and pronounced fore chest, good depth to chest and his ribs are well sprung. Possesses good bone and muscle tone. He moved very well just lacked the verve of the bitch on one of the hottest Spring days.

Irish Red and White Setters

Firstly, thank you to the exhibitors for supporting the Club with their entries and hopefully maintaining the classes of this lovely minority breed.

Straight forearms, with good bone led to neat feet. Level in topline which she maintained on the move. Nicely angulated fore and aft. Good depth to brisket and ribs well sprung. In lovely coat and condition. Coat presentation was as to be expected. She moved well with good footfall and drive from the rear.

2nd MacDonald’s Sh Ch Roanjora Rioja Crianza

Was great to have two Show Champions to judge in one class! Thank you for the opportunity to judge them both. Dam to my winner and she has passed on many of her attributes to her daughter. Shown in lovely coat and condition and again presented to perfection. Presents a nice outline whilst stood with good length to back and level topline. Nice head with round eyes, ears set well and good finish to muzzle. Nicely angulated with good bend of stifle. Her daughter just had the edge on movement on the day.
