Thank you to the East Anglian Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club and committee for inviting me to judge today and for making me feel so welcome. It was a lovely show, and I would also like to thank all the exhibitors who took the time to come along and support both the show and myself. It was very much appreciated.

Minor Puppy – Class 1

1st – 37 GAZSTAFF’S WRITE YOUR NAME

Black with white bitch, a very inquisitive puppy who couldn’t take her eyes off me. Her head was of good shape, with dark, round eyes and cheek muscles developing well. Her muzzle was of good length and open nares, tight lips, and her ears were neat. Her neck was of good strength, and her front is coming on well, with strong forelegs. She showed no weakness in the pasterns, and her feet were tight. Her topline was good, and she had a nice drop to her brisket, she had enough reach of sternum and and she was parallel when viewed from behind, with her rib developing well.

She moved well around the ring. Happy to award her Best Puppy in Show. Well done.

2nd – 43 HAMASON CLOSE TO ME

Brindle with white bitch, a very compact girl who is developing well. She had a good head shape, with a correct head to muzzle ratio and clean, tight lips. Her eyes were dark and round, with her cheek muscles developing well.

Her neck was strong, and she had a lovely wide front. She showed no weakness in the pasterns and had a good drop to her brisket. Her topline was okay, and her body is developing well.

She had a great bend to her stifle and was parallel when viewed from behind. Once settled, she moved well around the ring.

3rd – 2 WAYSTAFF LET’S PLAY CONQUERS WITH JOJALANE

White and red pied bitch, a confident young puppy. Her head was of pleasing shape, with cheek muscles developing well. She had a good length to her muzzle and clean, tight lips.

Her neck and front had enough strength to balance well with the rest of her body, and with a little more maturity, her body should continue to develop well. She showed no weakness in the pasterns and had a good drop to her brisket.

Her topline was straight, with a good bend to the stifle and a correct tail set. She moved well around the ring.

Puppy – Class 2

1st – 37 GAZSTAFF’S WRITE YOUR NAME

2nd – 33 BILROSESTAFF SWEETIE PIE

Red with white bitch, a very pretty young bitch. Her head was of good shape, with enough length to the muzzle. Her lips were tight, with good open nares. Her eyes were round and dark enough, with cheek muscles developing well.

Her neck was strong for a youngster, and her front is developing well, with a good drop to her brisket. Her legs were strong, showing no weakness in the pasterns, and she had tight, compact feet. Her topline was okay, with a pleasing bend of stifle. The muscles in her rear are developing well, and she was parallel when viewed from behind, with correct tail placement.

She moved well around the ring once settled.

3rd – 18 DILIRYSTAFF BULLSEYE

Pied dog with a great broad head and good length to his muzzle. His eyes were round, his ears were of a good size, and his cheek muscles were well pronounced. His head led down to a strong neck and wide front, with enough drop to his brisket. His legs were strong, and he showed no weakness in the pasterns. His topline was good, with a good spring of rib. His hindquarters were well muscled, with a good bend to his stifle. He was parallel when viewed from behind, with correct tail carriage. A great-looking dog for his age. He moved okay around the ring for his handler. Happy to award him Best Opposite Sex Puppy in Show. Well done.

Junior Dog – Class 3

1st – 28 HAMMYSTAFF TAINTED LOVE

Red and white dog. I loved this boy’s excitement, he stood bold and confident while still clearly enjoying himself.

His head was broad, with a good length to his muzzle and open nares. He had well-pronounced cheek muscles, ears of a good size, round dark eyes and a good underjaw.

His head led down to a strong, short neck and a wide front, well laid back shoulders and showing no looseness at the elbows. His legs were strong, with no weakness in the pasterns, and he had tight, compact feet. He had a good drop to his brisket and a good reach of sternum.

He was close coupled, with a good spring of rib and a good topline. His hindquarters were well muscled, with a good bend to his stifle. He was parallel when viewed from behind, with correct tail placement.

He moved with plenty of drive and remained parallel on the move. I was very happy to award him Reserve Best in Show.

2nd – 25 JACOBEAUS THE LEGACY

Black brindle dog. I do love a Stafford with excitement and fire, and this boy certainly had plenty of both.

His head was broad enough, with a good length to his muzzle and well pronounced cheek muscles. His ears were neat and of a good size, and his pigmentation was good throughout.

His neck was strong, and his front was wide enough, leading down to strong legs. He showed no weakness in the pasterns and had tight feet. He had a good drop to his brisket, with enough reach of sternum.

He was close coupled, with a good bend to his stifle. His tail placement was correct, and he was well muscled through the hindquarters. He stood parallel when viewed from behind and remained so on the move.

He certainly made his handler work for him. He moved okay, although I would have liked to have seen a little more freedom in his movement.

Yearling Dog – Class 4

1st – JOJALANE I DRINK WINE JW

Red with white dog, a very well put-together dog with a lovely broad head and well-pronounced cheek muscles. His muzzle was of good length, with open nares, clean, tight lips and a good underjaw. His head led into a thick, strong neck and a wide front. He had a good drop to his brisket and enough reach of sternum. His topline was excellent, with a good bend to his stifle and a correct tail set.

He moved around the ring with plenty of drive.

Novice Dog – Class 5

Post Graduate Dog – Class 6

1st – 7 HAPPYSTAFF HAKUNA MATATA

Brindle and white dog, an excitable boy with a lovely head shape. His head was broad, with well pronounced cheek muscles and a good length to the muzzle. His ear placement was good, and he had dark, round eyes with plenty of underjaw.

His neck was strong, and he had a good wide front, showing no weakness through the elbows. His legs were strong, with no weakness in the pasterns, and his feet were tight.

He had a good drop to his brisket and enough reach of sternum. He was close coupled, with an excellent topline and correct tail placement.

Once settled, he moved well around the ring with plenty of drive.

2nd – 42 WELLSSTAFFS YOUNG WARRIOR JW

Black brindle bitch, a lovely standard bitch who definitely stood her ground in this class. She had a lovely expression, with a broad head, good length to her muzzle and plenty of underjaw. Her cheek muscles were well pronounced, with dark, round eyes and ears of a good size. Her pigmentation was excellent throughout.

Her neck was short and muscular, leading into a wide, strong front. She showed no looseness through the elbows, with well laid back shoulders. She showed no weakness in the pasterns, and her feet were tight. She had a deep brisket with a good reach of sternum. She was short in the coupling, with a good spring of rib. Her hindquarters were strong and muscular, and when viewed from behind she was parallel. Her tail placement was correct and She moved freely around the ring, and I was very happy to award her Reserve Best Bitch.

3rd – 5 NIATONA INSPECTOR BLAKE

Red and pied dog, a well put together dog with a lovely head shape and size. His muzzle was of good length, with well pronounced cheek muscles. His ears were of a good size, and his eyes were round and dark enough.

His neck was strong, leading into a wide front and strong legs. He showed no weakness in the pasterns and had tight feet.

His brisket was deep, and he had an excellent topline. His ribs were well sprung, and his tail placement was correct.

He moved well around the ring.

Open Dog – Class 7

1st – 20 ALPORT BOLD RULER ShCEx

Black brindle dog, this boy stood bold and very alert. His head was of good shape and broad, with well pronounced cheek muscles, good length to his muzzle and open nares. His eyes were round, of good size and dark enough, while his ears were neat and of a good size. He also had plenty of underjaw.

His neck was strong, leading into a well boned front with well laid back shoulders. He showed no weakness through the elbows or pasterns, his legs were strong, and his feet were tight. He had a good drop to his brisket and enough reach of sternum. He was short in the coupling, with an excellent topline, a good spring of rib and a good bend to his stifle. His tail carriage was correct, and his hindquarters were strong and muscular.

He was parallel when viewed from behind and remained so on the move. He moved around the ring freely with plenty of drive.

I was very happy to award him Best Dog and Best in Show.

2nd – 36 CH GAZSTAFF’S BLACK MAGIC

Black brindle dog, of good size and balance, and a well put together dog overall. His head was of good size and shape, with a good head to muzzle ratio and open nares. He had well pronounced cheek muscles, dark, round eyes, neat ears and plenty of underjaw.

His head led down to a strong neck and a well boned front. His legs were strong, showing no weakness in the pasterns. He had a good drop to his brisket and a good reach of sternum.

His topline was good, with a good bend to his stifle and correct tail carriage. I would have liked to have seen just a little more fitness on the day, but he was still in great condition for his age. He moved well around the ring with plenty of drive.

I was happy to award him Best Opposite Sex Veteran in Show. Well done.

3rd – 26 KALOSTAFF ES LO QUE ES JW

Black brindle dog, of excellent size and balance. His head was broad and of good size, with well pronounced cheek muscles. He had a good length to his muzzle, open nares and round eyes that were dark enough. His neck was strong, leading into a well boned front with well laid back shoulders. His legs were strong, showing no weakness in the pasterns.

He had a good drop to his brisket and a good reach of sternum. He was short coupled, with a good topline, a well sprung rib and a good bend to his stifle. His tail set was correct, and he was parallel when viewed from behind.

He moved well around the ring.

Veteran Dog – Class 8

1st – 36 CH GAZSTAFF’S BLACK MAGIC

2nd – 44 ILLORI BACK CHAT

Black brindle dog, this boy had a lovely broad head with a good length to his muzzle, tight lips and open nares. His eyes were round, and he had plenty of underjaw.

His neck was strong, leading down to a well boned front and strong legs, showing no weakness in the pasterns. He had a good drop to his brisket and enough reach of sternum. His topline was excellent, and he had a good bend to his stifle with correct tail carriage. He was parallel when viewed from behind.

He moved okay around the ring for his handler.

3rd – 29 ILLORI AKINLANA JW ShCM VW

Black brindle dog, with a good head shape that was broad enough, well developed cheek muscles and a good length to his muzzle. His eyes were round and dark, with good open nares. His neck was strong, and his front was wide. He showed no weakness in the pasterns, and his feet were tight. He was short in the coupling, with correct tail placement and a good bend to his stifle.

He moved around the ring with lots of spark and joy. Well done to this boy.

Junior Bitch – Class 9

1st – 9 BOLDSTOCK INFINITE FLAME

Brindle with white bitch, with a pleasing head shape that was broad enough. She had a good length to her muzzle, open nares, well pronounced cheek muscles and enough underjaw. Her eyes were round and dark.

Her neck was strong, leading down to a sound front, She showed no weakness in the pasterns, and her brisket had enough drop.

Her topline was good, and her hindquarters were strong with correct tail placement. She was parallel when viewed from behind and remained so on the move.

Once settled, she moved well around the ring.

Novice Bitch – Class 11

Post Graduate Bitch – Class 12

1st – 41 WELLSSTAFS SHINE A LIGHT JW

Black brindle with white bitch, of good size and standard, well put together and with a lovely expression. Her head was of good size and shape, broad with well pronounced cheek muscles. She had a good length to her muzzle, open nares and clean, tight lips, with dark, round eyes. Her neck was strong, leading into a wide front, well laid back shoulders and well boned legs. She showed no weakness in the elbows or pasterns and had a good drop to her brisket, with enough reach of sternum.

Her topline was good, with a well sprung rib and a good bend to her stifle. Her hindquarters were strong, and her tail set was correct. She was parallel when viewed from behind.

She moved freely around the ring. I was happy to award her Reserve Best Bitch.

She was short in the coupling, with well muscled hindquarters and a good bend to her stifle. Her tail set was correct.

She moved freely around the ring with plenty of drive.

Her topline was good, and she was short in the coupling. She had a good bend to her stifle, and her tail set was correct.

She lacked a little confidence at first, but once settled, she moved freely around the ring.

Open Bitch – Class 13

Brindle and white bitch, a well put together bitch, overall balanced and of good size. Her head was broad, with well pronounced cheek muscles and a good length to her muzzle. She had open nares, plenty of underjaw, clean, tight lips and dark, round eyes.

Her neck was strong, leading into a wide, powerful front with well laid back shoulders. Her legs were strong, showing no weakness in the elbows or pasterns.

She had a good drop to her brisket and a good reach of sternum. She was short in the coupling, with a good topline and well sprung rib. She had a good bend to her stifle, and her tail set was correct. She was strong in the hindquarters and

She had a good bend to her stifle and was presented in excellent body condition. Her hindquarters were strong and muscular, and when viewed from behind she was parallel.

She moved well around the ring.
