Scottish Dachshund Club

The Scottish Dachshund Club 18/10/26 morning show

The quality of exhibits overall was quite strong, and it was easy to find the eventual winners. I found my BIS in Jenning’s Jenivons Star Finch a B/T Min Smooth boy of 2 ½ years who demanded attention with his arrogant head carriage and natural poise standing and moving, he has a masculine yet refined head with strength of jaw and an elegantly arched neck which lead in to great forequarters and legs that that supported a ribcage that was well back and he displayed a prominent sternum and keel that gave him a typical underline and topline showing enough ground clearance, his movement was sound and purposeful driving from his quarters and reaching in front , presented and handled without fuss and he just kept going to win in this quality line up, should carry his title with any luck.

RBIS was the W/H Binks Tannahill Lovely Day who again held her impressive outline both standing and moving , she was BOB in strong competition she impressed with her neat and completely un exaggerated construction , lovely headed girl of 2 yrs who has a well balanced head ,dark ,almond shaped eyes and a jaw and bite that were clearly that of a hunter, elegantly arched strong neck, very nice front construction showing prosternum and correct depth, her ribs went well back , strong in loin and good croup , her quarters were broad and well let down and her rear pasterns never deviated from hitting the ground at 90 degrees in profile and remaining parallel at all times from the rear , she could not stand wrong .She moved soundly and with purpose holding her topline and tail correctly, her coat was just at stripping point but that did not detract as it was of correct texture.

BPIS went to Drady’s Bronia Celestial an 11 mth cream LH girl who was truly a Dachshund in miniature , she has an outline that attracts for its correctness and balance , her textbook construction allowed her to move soundly and with purpose that belies her size, such a pretty head without sacrificing strength, great front ,a topline that didn’t faulter and sound driving quarters, loved her.

RBPIS went to the Red SH in the shape of Jenning’s Jenivons Standing Ovation who at 10 mths showed great quality in type ,construction and balance, correct outline from her feminine yet powerful head and jaw ,elegant neck with slight arch and well laid shoulders and corresponding upper arm which meant her front legs were well under her body , enough ground clearance and excellent wide well developed quarters and rear pasterns, she was self-assured on the move and demonstrated sound movement from all angles.

BVIS was awarded to the B/T MSH lady Cumberlands Mumysami Here We Go Again she moved like a puppy and has good construction and type, she cast a typical outline and was sympathetically handled , her has a superior air which catches the eye.

RBVIS went to Lumley’s L/H shaded red lady of 8 yrs who has good overall construction and type , well shaped head and eye ,she moved soundly just giving a little in topline with age , her dentition was complete and clean and she was again sympathetically handled.
