Thank you to Sunderland & District Canine Society for the opportunity to judge at their Premier Open Show. A special thank you to my ring steward for all the hard work keeping the ring running smoothly and in enabling me to judge the very good number of exhibits.

Basenji   

Graduate – No entries

Open – 3 (2 abs)

Knowles - Sarawana Dragon’s Conquest JW – Beautiful bitch in super well muscled condition. Lovely head, good neck, front and hind quarters. Moved with ease, lovely outline. BOB

Dachshund (Long-Haired)

Graduate – 1

Lumley - Swansford Diadora – (B) – Black & Tan – Lovely head and eye. Good front and rear, strong top line. Moved well with good tail carriage. BOB

Open – 1

Lumley - Dagastren Martha My Dear – (B) – Tan. Nice heard, correct bite. Good front and rear. Well sprung ribs. Not as happy on the move as one.

Dachshund (Min Long-Haired)

Junior – 3

1. Webster - Indiko Eternal Flame – (B) Black & Tan – Lovely Head and eye. Level top line, good front and rear angulation in really excellent condition. Moved well keeping topline and nice tail set. 

2. McNulty - Daniello Felix Star at Abbykiera (D) Black and Tan – close decision between one and two. Same qualities as above, just lacked the enthusiasm of one on the move.

3. Kasprowicz - Amberdach Inca Lily Daniello (B)

Post Graduate – 2

1. McNulty - Kenbloom Nix Boxwood at Abbykiera (B) – Lovely head and eye, leading to good length of neck. Good angles front and rear. Good muscle. When on the move kept her topline and flowed around the ring. BP & BOB

2. Kasprowicz - Daniello Dreamer Boy (D) – Nice overall well balanced dog. Same qualities just preferred the movement of one.  

Open – 3

1. Drady - Indiko Fire and Ice JW (D) Nice head and eye. Good length of neck down to well laid shoulders. Nice length in body, level topline leading to well muscled rear quarters. Moved well.

2. Kasprowicz - Daniello Diamond Dove (D) - B/T – Good overall well balanced dog. Good angles front and rear, which enabled the free movement around the ring.

3. Morrin & Barbi - Zilcan Vanilla Ice for Arlatdax JW

1. Stuart - Shantallah Bailey - (D) Really lovely youngster – first show – Nicely proportioned overall. Lovely head and expression with darkest of eyes. Good length of neck leading to level topline. Front and rear angulation well muscled. Moved really well. BOB & BP

Post Graduate – 1

1. Stuart - Shantallah Betty Boop (B) Very similar qualities to her brother. Lovely head and dark eye. Well balanced youngster , moved really well, had a very good young handler.

1. Ord & Ainsley - Cloudside Sebastian of Marnadee JW – (D) What a commanding dog. Lovely conformation throughout. Level head and dark eye, good shoulders and rear angulation. Well muscled and moved as if owning the ring. BOB

1. Lancashire & O’Donnell - Drishaun Consider It Done JW (B) Black & Cream – Lovely to go over. Beautiful feminine chiselled head with dark eye. Good length of neck down to well placed shoulders with good return of upper arm. Well sprung rib and good depth of chest. Level topline and nicely set ringed tail. Good bend of stifle, well muscled through out. Moved with ease around the ring.

2. Morrison & McCormack - Sitana Ghost Rider to Tulak (D) – B/M Gold – Lovely dog, so laid back. Masculine boy with darkest of eyes. Good length of neck to well placed shoulders. Level topline, low set tail. Good bend of stifle. Well muscled, moved.

Open – 3

1. Lancashire & O’Donnell - CH Drishaun Baby’s In Blask JW – (D) This dog takes your breath away. His outline is stunning and you are not disappointed when going over him. Beautifully presented masculine chiselled head with darkest of triangular eyes. Low set ears. Good length of neck leading to well placed shoulders. Good depth of chest with plenty of heart room. Level topline with low set ringed tail. Rear angulation well muscled which he uses to floats around the ring with such ease. BOB & Best Hound

2. Thompson - Drishaun Rock me Baby Gothika (D) – B/M Gold – Litter brother to one. Lovely head with dark eyes and low set ears. Good length of neck leading into well placed shoulders. Level topline and low placed ringed tail. Good rear angulation. Beautifully presented.

Graduate - 3 (1 Abs)

1. Conroy - Everwyck Saladria at Enolam (B) – Brown/White – Nice head with good dark eyes. Good strong arched neck, steady rise to topline. Good fallaway nice set tail. Well muscled which showed when moving. 

2. Dover - Sukeshi Hot Dancer at Keanver (B) – Black/White – Nice feminine head with dark eyes. Topline well arched with good length of loin. Not so sure when moving around the ring. BP

Open – 1

1. Wilson - Palamedees Arian Khrysos at Keanver JW ShCEx OSW – (D) Brown/White – Masculine head with good underjaw. Dark eyes. Neck well arched, his topline rises to a good fallaway. Front and rear angulation has good muscle. Good depth of chest and spring of rib. Moved well. BOB

Graduate – 3

1. Cumberland & Constantine - Kaleginy Shogun – (D) Lovely head and dark eyes, great neck leading to good layback of shoulders. Good topline. Well balanced all through which allowed him to power around the ring. BOB

2. Constantine - Kaleginy Land Rover – (D) Lovely head with dark eyes. Good neck into well laid shoulder and fore chest. Nice rib and well bent stifle. Good on the move. BP

3. Wilson - Loyalty’s Endless Love

1. Wilson - Loyalty’s Endless Love (D) Good head and dark eye, Nice depth of chest with good ribbing. Plenty of body, good outline. Moved well.

1. McNulty - Rixymanor Major – (D) Balanced throughout . Dark eye well set ears. Good bone throughout, deep brisket with ribbing well back. Strong quarters, moved well. BOB

2. Taylor - Quila De La Constellation – (B) – Lovely youngster. Nice shape and size. . Good head and dark eyes. Good length of neck and body with well made quarters. Moved steady around the ring. BP – Best Hound Puppy

1. Littlefair - Conmeryl Joshua Jopp – ((D) – Strong dog. Masculine head, low set ears and dark eyes. Good width of chest with good depth of brisket. Nice front and rear angulation. Moved steady.

1. Stevenson -Bramley - Atlas Du Rallye Gascogne Normand (Imp Fra) - Basset Bleu De Gaqscogne – (D) – Good overall type. Balanced head and pleasing eye. Has a good neck and shoulders. Nice forechest and good bone, Ribs well rounded and rear firmly muscled. Correct tail and moved soundly. BOB - BP 

2. Middleton – Caelestibleu Jean Luc - Basset Bleu De Gascogne- (D) – Lovely youngster. Nice head and expression. Sound front with good front and rear angulation. Good top line. Moved well.

1. Stevenson-Bramley - Caelestibleu How You Doin JA - Basset Bleu De Gascogne – (D) – Nice masculine dog. Good head and dark eye. Ears well placed. Neck nice length, good bone. Moved well.

2. Middleton - Caelestibleu Suede Shoe Basset Bleu De Gascogne (B) – Lovely bitch. Good head with well set shaped ears. Good bone with nicely angulated quarters. Moved well.

1. Lancashire & O’Donnell -CH Drishaun Faith is Like a Lily for Javidan JW – Afghan (B) – In superb condition. So elegant, lovely head with darkest of eyes. Long neck to well placed shoulders. Good depth of chest with plenty of heart room. Well muscled front and rear angulation. Level topline and low set ringed tail. Moved well with ease.

2. Lumley - Dagastren Martha My Dear - Dachshund (Long Haired)

Puppy – 11 (1 Abs)

1. Forrester & Macfarlaine - Collooney Anytime Anyplace At Finix – Whippet (B) A beautiful feminine 8 month old girl. Loved her head and expression. Correct muscled front & rear angulation. Slight rise over the loin. Nice tight feet. Moved very soundly.

2. Brewis - Dellared Keep On Moving – Rhodesian Ridgeback – (B) 11 months old, feminine head, with good ear set. Long neck leading to good shoulders. Good front & rear angulation. Level topline with sloping croup to correct tailset. Moved well.

Junior – 4

1. Morrison & McCormack - Sitana Ghost Rider To Tulak – Afghan

2. Goldberg - Molesend Kiwi – Beagle – (B) – Lovely bitch. Stood rock solid on the table, showing off her lovely conformation. Nice head and expression , has a good reach of neck and level topline. Used her good front and rear muscle to move effortlessly around the ring.

2. Ritchie - Kinabula’s Beat Of My Heart – Rhodesian Ridgeback (B) Lovely bitch with feminine head and good earset. Long neck leading to nice laid shoulders. Good front and rear angulation. Deep chest with plenty of heat room. Moved well.

1. Wilson - Loyalty’s Endless Love – Deerhound (D) – Nice dog. Masculine head , well set ears. Nice length of neck leading to correct shoulder placement. Good front & rear. Moved well.

2. Knowles - Sarawana Dragonfire Rising JW - Basenji (B) – Lovely head, with good ear placement. Nice neck length into shoulders well laid back. Lovely front and rear angulation. Moved well.
