Guildford & District Canine Society

Firstly, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the committee for inviting me to judge our delightful breed – the warmth of this show resonated as soon as one enters the building and that was due to the efficiency and friendliness of this lovely committee, who battled against the elements of the horrible wet, cold weather to give everyone a most enjoyable day.

Although not a huge entry the quality of dogs was good, especially in the puppy class – I found no bad mouths and no flying tails. My hands were as clean as when I started; so all credit to the exhibitors in difficult conditions

PUPPY (4 entries, 0 absent)

1st ASHBYGLEN I DREAMED A DREAM

Caught my eye, immediately he entered the ring, he moved very well for 10 months and is just right for his age, well balanced head without any coarseness, good occiput and well proportioned skull to foreface, dark eye and melting expression, correct bite. This beautiful head leads to a strong elegant neck into well laid back shoulders and good return of upper arm, he is nicely angulated front and rear, with nothing exaggerated, his overall confirmation is very balanced which enabled him to cover the ground well – he flows with drive, from well let down hocks and good bend of stifle, maintaining a level top line – shown in gleaming cream coat and condition and has a very nice rapport with his handler; I liked him very much and was delighted to award him BP. 2 more classes and ResBOB – I will watch his future with interest

2. ROSGAR WISH UPON A STAR

Unlucky to meet 1, who for me scored in head and expression – she is a nicely balanced 11 month bitch with many good points; presented in very good coat and condition, her neck is of good length, flowing into well laid back shoulders, she has the straightest of fronts and has a very good topline, nice bend of stifle and let down hocks which enabled her to move well

3. ROSGAR FLY ME TO THE MOON

JUNIOR (3 entries, 1 absent)

1st AHBYGLEN I DREAMED A DREAM

2nd CHERRIMAR ELECTRA

13 month sweet girl just out of puppy, darker coated than the winner and at this stage not quite the ring presence of my winner – however she is a very nice bitch, lovely dark eye, correct dentition, good ear set to eye with good pigmentation, she has a well angulated front, her shoulder blade and upper arm are well proportioned, she has tight catlike feet, short coupled body with good bend of stifle and good tail set which she held on the move.

SPECIAL YEARLING (4 entries, 1 absent)

1st CHERRIMAR ELECTRA

2nd FLYNGALEE HUNKY DORY

He has a nice balanced head, good pigmentation, short coupled body which enabled him to cover the ground well. For me the winner was more balanced

1st CINDERBANK MOVE IT JW

Mid gold boy, shown in very good coat and condition, masculine head but retaining a gentle expression, correct dentition and ear set, strong muscular neck flowing nicely into well lay back of shoulders and excellent depth of rib Loved his overall balance, stood on a true front with good lay back of shoulder, correct upper arm with legs nicely placed under, excellent depth of rib and has strength over the loin and nicely angulated rear quarters; which he used to his advantage when powering around the ring always maintaining his dead level topline His free flowing stride is a joy to watch and he most certainly could do a good day’s work! A very nice dog indeed, delighted to award him BOB
