United Retriever Club

I would like to thank the Club for inviting me to judge at their well-run show, the hospitality was excellent. Big thanks for my stewards and to the exhibitors for their entries and sportsmanship.

Chesapeake Bays. All girls here today. Puppy, (2, 1a) 1st and BPIB Morris Penrose water pistol, promising well balanced puppy, pleasing outline, head of correct proportions, plenty of brain room , broad but feminine, good width between eyes, has alert expression, large nostrils and nice tight lips, body developing well with good depth of chest and well ribbed, feet of good size and strong hocks, moved out showing substance and power, she was muscled up front and rear, has correct coat type, thick, harsh and oily.

Junior,(3, 1a) 1st, BOB Mayhews & McCartneys BB’S Chesapeake breeding dory for Arnac, Imp CHE, Exciting young lady who took my eye on entering the ring, feminine head, board and round with small high set ears, keen expression from her well placed eyes, tight lips and big nostrils, she has strong neck leading to well laid shoulders, correct body proportions , deep chest with plenty of heartroom, has strength through back to well-muscled rear, well turned stifles and good feet, moved out effortlessly showing power and strength. Excellent coat, thick, dense and water resistant. Was delighted to see she went onto win BIS. I predict a bright future. 2nd P water pistol, from puppy.

Post grad(3, 1a) 1st and Res BOB Watts Oakmarsh Little Acorn JW,Judged her as a puppy so nice to see how she has developed, workmanlike balanced girl, she has feminine head of correct proportions, alert expression, ears carried close, tight lips, good through neck to well laid shoulders and deep chest, well muscled rear, moves soundly holding topline, coat of harsh oily texture. 2nd Corcoran & Jones Oakmarsh Kingsley adsila, another workmanlike girl who is similar to 1st, I just preferred the rear angulation and feet of 1st today, but she has a nice head, alert eyes and good ear set, well developed nose, strong muscular neck, good depth of chest, good width to thighs, strong bone, coat of correct condition and texture. Moved ok holding outline.

Limit(1)1st Watts Oakmarsh Indian dream maker, well balanced girl who holds pleasing outline, looking a little lean today due to having puppies, head of nice proportions, alert expression, good nose and lips, using ears well as at one with her handler, keen to please, has strength through topline and rear, good size feet and correct tail carriage, always wagging away. Moved ok.

Open Bitch (3) 1st Morris Ch Baymoss tweed of Penrose, SGWC, A working girl who was well boned and well muscled up, pleasing head piece, kind alert expression but was flying ears slightly today , well developed nostrils, tight lips, strong neck, good depth and width of chest and powerful rear. Had the best coat of the 3 today, dense and oily, moved well but just preferred drive of PG winner today, but close up. 2nd Watts Ch Oakmarsh Freedom SGWC, Another working girl who was showing her post puppy figure and coat today. Has a feminine head, well set ears and eyes, good nose, strong neck , correct angles front and rear, level back, moved ok. 3rd Watts Oakleaf manor bay of Oakmarsh,
