Thank you to the club for inviting me to judge my first toy group, which was filled with quality dogs. Thanks to the exhibitors for their entries and their sportsmanship which was evident throughout the whole day. I was impressed by the young handlers present who not only handled their dogs well but conducted themselves professionally. A good sign for the future. Thanks to my stewards who kept things moving.

Bichon Frise. Open (3, 1a) 1st and BOB Innes Pearlwhite amazing grace, lovely feminine girl, nice head of 3:5 proportions , dark eyes large black nose, good pigment, balanced body and moved with drive holding head carriage and topline. Well presented. 2nd Prices Louisanna bonnie wee lass , younger girl who wasn’t as mature in body as 1st or as positive on move but lots to like, lovely head, with dark eyes and nose, good front with tight elbows, well rounded rear, nice coat and condition.

CKCS. Open 95,1a) 1st and BOB Hoggs and Hamiltons Invincible angel magic oak at Hamhoggs Imp Pol, quality Blenheim girl with pretty feminine head, balanced with correct stop and dark eye, held pleasing outline stood and moving, in lovely bloom and close up for group placing. 2nd Craneys Sweetbriar Moonstone, blenheim girl with balanced head and lovely eye, good ears, prefer little more length of leg, moved soundly, wagging tail. 3rd Hamiltons Mariposa cavaliers pico bello at Hamhoggs.

Chihuahua Smooth, PG (4, 1a) 1st Conways Silverchi dixie darling, and she sure is a darling, compact body, correct head with dome, nice eye and ears, moved with attitude holding level topline and high tail. 2nd Russels Chirouxe Breakdown. Slightly larger than 1st, well balanced body, level back, good rear assembly, confident mover. 3rd Russells Chirouxe play me.

Open (4) 1st BOB G4, Conways Silverchi tonight we dance, cheeky chap full of attitude, well rounded skull, large ears which he used well, compact body, moved out well holding level back and high tail, well muscled up, and in good coat. 2nd Russells Chirouxe come together. Preferred tailset of 1st but a well made lad, attentive to handler, rounded in head with large ears, deep brisket and good stifles. 3rd Blacks Roovena pumpkin patch.

Chihuahua Long (10) 1st and BOB Lynchs Chirolin magic strike at Garnox, super little chap , full of attitude, in good coat, large dark eyes, large ears, compact body, good lay of shoulders, well ribbed with good stifles, moved with drive to take BOB over open winner. 2nd Ogilvies Chirouxe Shake it. Dainty little girl, feminine head with lovely eyes and rounded skull, happy on the move holding pleasing outline. In good coat. 3rd Russells Chirouxe black tie. Open( 5,1a) 1st Russells Chirouxe moonage daydream, dainty girl who won this class on her excellent front, legs set under deep chest with tight elbows, pretty head and eyes, moved well holding outline, just pipped to BOB as PG winner had edge on showmanship today. 2nd Sangsters Ch Kirlasidh young pretender,JW, a worthy champion in fabulous bloom, close up to 1st but I just preferred her front, well rounded head, ears set high and attentive to handler, balanced body, moved with drive holding correct tailset. 3rd Symon Jotolemar time for a change at Charabri.

Chinese Crested (6) 1st BOB, G1 Res BIS, Shaw, Moyles, Hunter Ryans Ch Bryelis boys are back in town, wow, what a stunner this chap is, took my eye on entering the ring, balanced head with clean cheeks, dark eye and large erect ears which he used attentively, well made front and good rear angulation, moved gracefully holding his outline, in fabulous bloom with excellent skin. Pleased to award him G1 and later he went Res BIS, Worthy champion. 2nd Kirkwoods Helydon zkitto zkatto, lovely puppy, up to size, but so well balanced in outline and body, feminine head with dark eye, tight lips and erect ears, good neck leading to well laid shoulders, moved well, excellent skin and plumes. 3rd Kirkwoods Helydon zazy zachery.

Coton de Tulear open (2) 1st BOB, G2 Murrays Cukoton shot in the dark SHCEX, Impressive male full of breed type, Balanced head, dark eye, good pigment, correct body being slightly longer than tall, moved soundly holding topline, coat immaculate, his showmanship and quality took him to G2 later. 2nd Murrays Happypaws carefree shcm. Another quality exhibit, just showing few signs of age, typical breed outline, lovely head and expression, good pigment, coat of lovely texture, moved freely.

ETT. Open (4, 1a) 1st and BOB Inch’s Edalene upside down JW, impressive lad stood and moving, head of good shape with dark eye and erect ears which he used, correct shoulders, good depth to chest, well muscled rear with good angulation. 2nd Inch’s Edalene court and spark jw osw, similar breeding to 1st and very like him but in a feminine package. Good head and erect ears, well angulated front and rear, not as positive on move as 1st. 3rd Bennets Edalene in a silent way to Capledrae JW

Jap Chin. Open (2,) 1st BOB G3, Blairs Bellflows Ichikawa. And 2nd Blairs Bellflows Mitsu. Litter brothers and very similar, both have balanced heads with good ears and dark eyes, well balanced through bodies, 1st had edge on muzzle and movement today but both presented with lovely silky coats. This win gave him his JW, so well done. Later in the group 1st pulled out the stops to take g3.

Papillons PG (4.) 1st Blacks Amicae play with fire, well balanced lad,liked his head and expression, dark eyes, well carried ears, liked his size and shape, tight elbows and strong loin, lovely silky coat and moved soundly. 2nd Bogues Pamhurst wee commando, cute wee chap he is too, good size and shape, liked his head, ears set correctly and with super fringes, just preferred front of 1st , he has strong loin and good stifles, silky coat. 3rd Watsons Beaujolie hot lips. Open (5, 1a) 1st and BOB Malcolm’s Ch Feorlig it must’ve been love, veteran chap by Dream lover, whom I loved. Full of show attitude, handsome head, good ear fringes, dark eyes, deep chest with good rib, holds pleasing outline and in fabulous bloom. Close up in veteran and group for placings. 2nd Taylors Pamhurst Picasso, another happy lad just not as positive on move as 1st today, nice head, good ears, balanced body, good chest and rib, in lovely coat. 3rd Taylors Pamhurst one and only.

Pomeranians PG (4, 2A) 1ST MacDowells Altinas margarita for Carberry, pretty girl who has lovely head, soft eye and good bite. Foxy expression, compact body, stood four square and moved out freely. In fab coat. 2nd Mcalpines Divinity on the rocks.just preferred size and balance of 1st but a lovely lad, compact body, well ribbed, short backed, nice feet, in great coat.

Open (4, 2a) 1st and BOB Nixons Kazpom no doubt JW, handsome lad, loved his foxy head, nice eye and well placed ears,good shoulders and deep chest shown in good coat and plume. Moved well. Close uo for group place. 2nd Mcalpines Altina wouldn’t it be lovely. Sweet girl, just preferred head and expression of 1st, fine boned and dainty body, used ears well , attentive to handler, short back and tidy feet. Moved freely.

Pugs open (4,1a) 1st and BOB Scott Downie Roxxmar tickety boo. Firm cobby body, slightly preferred his head to 2nd, as little bit more muzzle, wide chest, good turn of stifles and in hard muscular condition. 2nd Reids Rhodenash kandoo krunchie hugieboogie JW, substantial cobby boy, dark eyes, masculine head, straight in front and strong loin,good tailset, moved ok but not as positive as 1st. 3rd Deans Jobeile Ant struthain at Uisdean jw.

Russian Toys. First time judging these and had studied standard beforehand. An interesting class of differing types. 1st and BOB Grahams Grande misterio hebridian at Koorimob, smooth coated lad, liked his overall balance and construction, nice head, large ears set high, long neck, fine boned, good rear angulation, moved briskly. 2nd Slacks Bel Ch Caramel sweetness wonderful toy for everbabes, sweet girl, also balanced through body, holds pleasing outline, lovely head and fringed ears, nice eye, good feet in lovely coat, close up to 1st. 3rd Lynchs Garnox Katerina.

AVNSC Toy, PG (2) Both Griffons. 1st and best nsc, Barbis Cilleine last wicket for Sparlero, handsome head with dark eyes and small ears, good bite and short muzzle, has a cheeky look about him, has good front and well angulated rear, tail carried over back and well muscled up. Expertly handled by a polite young man whom Im sure will go far in showing. Close up for a group placing but lost his stride on the move. 2nd Blairs Adreeam diamond in the rough for Bellflows, still in puppy but a very pretty girl, gorgeous head with dark eyes, cute expression, high set ears, good neck, short back , wiry coat. Unlucky to meet 1.

Junior (7, 3a) 1st Bichon Louisianna bonnie lass, 2nd Griffon Cilleine last wicket for S. 3rd Pom Divinty on the rocks.

Veteran ( 19, 5a) what a fabulous class this was. As time was tight I didn’t shortlist but could have awarded more cards. 1st McDowalls Pom, Ch Altinas tudor rose, foxy little lady full of show attitude you cant ignore her, compact body, pretty feminine head, dark eyes,short back, level topline lovely tail plume, moved with purpose. 2nd Coton de tulear, Happypaws carefree VW, 3rd Symons Chihuahua long, Brameritas heres trouble at Charabi VW.
