I would like to thank the committee for my judging appointment and my steward, June, for her assistance and efficiency. Also, many thanks to the exhibitors for entering under me. All the dogs were of high quality. It was a privilege to go over them and it gave me great pleasure.

BEDLINGTON TERRIER

Pads on both dogs were checked and the ears were checked for thick cartilage and all were fine for both dogs.

L (1) Wells’s Maevani Huntress of Sirius. Graceful, pretty young blue bitch of 10 months. Good wedge shaped head, deep and rounded with dark triangular eye and black nose, scissor bite, good ear set. Long neck, good depth of chest for a youngster, correct non exaggerated rise over loin, oblong body, balanced throughout with lovely jacket of good texture and colour. Moved with an attractive light and springy gait. Well done to her young handler who showed her very well. BP PG2

O (2, 1a) Jackson’s Rhicullen Blue Knight JW Blue dog of 18 months with correct body proportions and correct non exaggerated rise above the loin. Jacket of good colour and texture. Masculine, correct, wedge shaped head, deep and rounded with white top knot, well filled under correct dark triangular eyes, good ear set. Long neck, good angulation fore and hind, well balanced throughout. Chest of correct width and deep to elbows. Flat ribbed. Good straight hocks and excellent movement. BOB

IRISH TERRIER

Pads on both dogs were checked and were fine.

L (1) Davidson’s Silbraehill Miss Dyna Mite. Bitch of 23 months, feminine and still maturing. Correct head proportions with dark eye, scissor bite. Good length of neck, straight front legs. Well angulated front and rear, well ribbed back with strong short loin, tail set good. Lovely correct harsh red coat.

O(1) 1. Davidson’s Ch Saredon Miss Davidson JW. Bitch of 5 years. Wow, what a beauty! Lovely racy outline. In proportion and balanced throughout. Harsh red coat, good black pigmentation, long head, dark brown eyes, finely chiselled foreface, good ear set, good length of neck, deep chest, well muscled, well ribbed back, strong short loin, correct tail set, excellent movement BOB. TG4

NORFOLK TERRIER

L (2, 1a) 1. Alman’s Nemlak Isabella. A pretty 2 years old, black and tan bitch. She has a lovely outline with the correct set and carriage of her tail. She is balanced throughout – correct proportions of muzzle to skull, medium length of neck and short back – is of correct size and has excellent movement. Her head is slightly rounded, she has dark eyes and a scissor bite. Well laid back shoulder and good return of upper arm were in total balance with her rear quarters with its well angulated stifle. Good chest and well sprung ribs; correct harsh coat and shows great extension and drive. BOB

SEALYHAM TERRIER

L (2) Two litter mates, brother and sister, 6 months of age with similar comments for both. Correctly proportioned heads, slightly domed and with good width between the ears. Eyes were oval and dark and already showing some degree of pigmentation of the eye rims, lovely large black noses! Scissor bites. Long neck and oblong outlines. Good chest width and ribs, good tail set and tail carriage and plenty behind the tail. 1. Bettis’s Ornella Honey Rider. Dog of 6 months old. Comments as above. His coat seemed more mature than his sister’s and although both dogs moved rather erratically, the dog showed that he could move well.....at times! BP. 2. Bettis’s Ornella Honey Crush. Female of 6 months but her coat did not seem quite so mature as her brother’s and her movement was very erratic as she just raced to be with her brother! I expect that in a short time she will hold her own and the two could easily exchange places. I am looking forward to watching them both progress.

 O (1) 1. Bettis’s Ch Whooperhill Sand Dollar With Ornella JW Young dog of 22 months but what a dog! “Square within an oblong”, sturdy and so alert. Good head with correct proportions of muzzle to skull & slightly domed, good ear set and dark oval eyes. Scissor bite. Good length of neck and well angulated fore and hindquarters, well sprung ribs, level topline, good set on of tail, good musculature of hind legs and plenty behind the tail. Correct harsh topcoat. Movement was excellent with great drive. BOB

SKYE TERRIER

L ( 1) 1. Cox’s Silverbriar Imogen Of Petitpaws. An elegant 4 years old black bitch of correct height and, body: height ratio and well balanced throughout. Powerful but feminine head with correct muzzle and skull proportions, slight stop, correctly set prick ears, dark brown and expressive eyes and black nose. Long neck and well angulated fore and hind. Deep chest and hard coat. Good carriage of head and plenty of drive on the move. BOB.
