It was both an honour and a pleasure to be invited to judge the Toy Group at this well run and well supported show. I was very well looked after throughout the day and my special thanks to the Secretary, other members of the committee and my two lovely stewards for looking after me so well throughout the day. Special thank you for the scone which was delicious!
Toy Group
A strong group, with some quality puppies placed who are going to give their owners some real fun.
TG1 Green & Leonard’s ETT Lady In Black at Witchstone. I fell in love with the total quality of this young lady. She exudes femininity and fine elegance but with a strength and purpose that leaves you in no doubt she could do the job she was bred for. Her head is textbook with a beautiful eye and lovely ear. However, it is her lines that truly excel, from her arched long neck through a beautiful and correct topline with a matching chest into tuck up line below she is all curves to her correctly rounded croup which means her tail set and carriage could not be anything other than low set and carried. On the move she takes it up another gear as you realise that with these lines she can and does give what the standard asks for and is truly akin to an extended trot, with matching drive from rear giving smoothness and flow and excellent foot fall. At one with her handler and giving her all for him. I will follow her future career with great interest.
TG2 Rhodes’s CKCS, Calonlan Zeus JW. This lad is all quality, beautifully proportioned and well put together, all things I love to see. Good mover. Pleasing head and expression, lovely topline and tail carriage. I have done his sire well previously, pleased to see that the son is even better.
TG3 Clarke’s Cotone de Tuleur Int/Bel/Nld Ch Cotonkiss Heaven Help Us VW NLW23 Lux VCh. Meets the standard so well, correctly constructed with a good outline and pleasing head and expression. Moving out with style in all directions. He totally belies his 9 years. A credit to his owner.
TG4 Orchard & Holyland’s Russian Toy, Cze Ch Vivaprima Turmalin Royal (Imp LVA). About to turn 3 yrs with lots of quality and style about him. Correct in head and expression, with lovely arch to his neck. Well balance throughout. Correct level topline held well at all times and good movement in all directions.
Toy Puppy Group
TPG1 Wildig, Wildig & Carys’s Affenpinscher Carycares Hot To Go. This beautiful pup is going to live up to her name. She is so correct in all respects. Liked her head and expression, cheeky anf all monkey. Well put together with a firm and level topline which she held beautifully on the move. Correct tailset giving her a lovely outline in stance. On the move she shows a correct lively stride with no hint of hackney yet plenty of lift. She is going to be such fun!
TPG2 Tower’s Bolognese, Enjanicka Toscana Ocio. A lovely pup who should also give his owner breeder plenty of fun in the ring. Nicely square in outline with excellent pigmentation. Well constructed and good on the move. Well presented coat of the correct flocked texture.
TPG3 Giambona’s Coton de Tulear Mopseycoton Mini McCoy at Trinashores. Another pup with lots in his favour. I liked his correct make and shape and his good movement. In good coat of the correct texture, well presented.
TPG4 Rhodes’s CKCS, Calonlan Bianca. About to turn 12 mths, perhaps a little immature at present. Good head proportions with melting expression. Typy and sound, liked her balance, well constructed, good level topline, which scored in her class and correct tail carriage.

2nd: Dennison’s Ch Ettology Bounteous Barney JW RBOB. You certainly don’t expect to have dogs of the callibre of these two to decide between even at a Premier Open Show. A most worthy Ch who gives so much of what the standard calls for. Masculine but not either heavy or overdone. Correct on head and expression with correct eye and ear. Well constructed, with good shoulders, and correctly angulated behind but I felt that today the smoother lines and more powerful rear drive gave the edge to the bitch.
3rd: Phillips’ Ettology Big Bang JW
