Dobermanns - Anya Pardoe (DOBIEDAR)

My sincere thanks to the Officers and Committee for their kind invitation to judge at their show and enormous thanks to my highly efficient ring steward Kathy Lane.

Thank you to the exhibitors who brought their dogs under me and for their excellent sportsmanship.

All dogs had correct bite and complete dentition, close lying coats and bold temperaments.

P (2,0) 1. Brough & Mycroft's Supeta's Scarlet Witch for Aniiraz 12 month old elegant brown and rust bitch, short coupled of standard size, made the most of herself at all times. Correct head planes with slight stop and dark, almond-shaped eyes with flat cheeks and tight lips. Front legs seen from front and side were straight and parallel to each other and her ribs deep and well sprung, reaching to elbows which are lying tight to brisket and a well tucked up underline. Short, firm back with a strong, straight, sloping topline from wither to a well filled croup and correct tailset. Well-developed, muscular hind quarters, with straight, strong hocks. Tight compact feet all round. This confident puppy moved straight and true coming towards and going away, holding her topline well. She was in excellent condition and extremely well presented. BPIB and delighted to later see her take WPG2.

2. Harris's Ruholfia Diya (IKC) 9 month old black and tan bitch, full of type and quality and one which I have admired from ring side for her overall balance. Excellent blunt wedge head from above and the side with correct stop and well filled out under the darkest of almond-shaped eyes and a wonderful feminine expression. Small, neat ears. Well-developed forechest and chest deep to brisket with tight elbows. Front legs straight and parallel from front and side with ample bone and tight cat-like feet all round. Short, firm back sloping slightly from withers to croup as desired with correct tailset. Strong hind quarters and excellent width of second thigh, with straight hocks. Free, balanced movement albeit a little erratic at times. She was unsettled today but only young and she has a huge amount to offer. Handler was very patient when stacking, and presented her in great condition.

J (2,0) 1. Thorn's Grafmax Excalibur 1 year old promising and appealing dark brown and rust dog. Strong male head developing with the classic blunt wedge shape head and good depth of muzzle, correct almond-shaped eyes and an alert expression. He has a good forechest and front assembly, and ribs deep and reaching to elbows, with straight and parallel front legs seen from front and side and large, compact feet. Correct length of neck flowing into his shoulders, slightly sloping topline and well filled croup and correct tailset. His hindquarters are strong and muscular with sweeping, well bent stifles and seem from behind he had the most correct, strong, straight hocks. Well balanced male and he covered the ring with reach and drive. Presented and handled very well and in excellent condition.

2. Sharp, Sharp, Goodall & Goodall's Mianna Full Circle with Martifers 15 month old black and tan bitch with a most feminine expression. Head is of correct proportions, with flat cheeks and tight lips and darkest of almond-shaped eyes. Well constructed female with straight and parallel front legs and has tight catlike feet all round. Her ribs are deep and and well sprung with elbows tight to brisket. Short firm back with a strong, slightly sloping topline flowing to well filled croup and correct tailset with sweeping stifles to correct straight hocks. Presented in excellent condition. She was handled well and moved straight and true, just lacking the drive and vigour that I have seen her move with before.

PG (2,0) 1. Roberston's Cockneyoka Commander 18 month old black and tan bold, alert and up to size dog who was a pleasure to go over. Love his correct elongated blunt wedge of a head, with parallel planes, good depth of muzzle, of good length and well filled out under the darkest of almond-shaped eyes. His long neck runs smoothly into well laid shoulders, and he has a strong, straight, sloping topline into a well filled croup and correct tailset. Well-developed hindquarters with a long, well bent length of stifle and super second thigh. Ample forechest with ribs which are deep and well sprung and elbows tucked in to brisket. Super straight front legs parallel to each other from elbow to pastern, good round bone and tight catlike feet all round and a well tucked up underline. He moved out freely, with real drive from his hindquarters, was nicely handled and presented in excellent condition. Gave Best of Breed a run for his money.

2. Sharp, Sharp, Goodall & Goodall's Mianna Full Circle with Martifers

O (3,0) 1. Merchant's Krieger's Mark Miwords At Mandareus. 2 year old black and tan dog with a typical expression for the breed. This muscular male of proud carriage is another with his head in proportion to his body, well filled out under eyes with a good depth of muzzle and resembling a blunt elongated wedge from side and above. Super almond-shaped darkest brown eyes. Straight, parallel front legs from elbow to pastern, well off for bone, with elbows which are tight to brisket. He has a strong, slightly sloping topline to a well filled croup and correct tailset and a well tucked up underline with excellent angulation front and rear. Long well bent stifles with excellent second thigh and his good angulation and balance allowed him to power around the ring with reach and drive. Well presented and in excellent condition. BOB

2. Bromwich's Rafthouse Kickback 5 1/2 year old black and tan muscular, compact and well balanced masculine male who was a pleasure to go over. Strong head in proportion to his body, well defined stop and darkest almond-shaped eyes with that wonderful Dobermann expression. Straight and parallel front legs with ample bone and excellent tight feet. Another with a good depth of chest and elbows lying close to brisket. Good neck flows into well laid shoulder and strong slightly sloping topline and presented a good square outline. Ample forechest with matching fore and rear angulation and he moved with purpose around the ring, balanced with reach and drive. What an absolute gentleman of a dog and a real credit to his wonder handler who presented him in tiptop condition.
