Dobermanns and Adult Handling - Anya Pardoe (DOBIEDAR)

 Dobermanns

Special Yearling (4,1) A delightful class of confident and happy dogs all at different stages of development.

1. Thorn's Grafmax Excalibur one year old well presented standard size male, with such a wonderful dark brown and rust close-lying coat and in great condition. Blunt wedge-shaped head, with a well defined stop, good planes and correct almond-shaped eyes with an alert expression so typical of this breed. Correct bite and full dentition. Clean reach of neck into well laid shoulder flowing into slightly sloping topline and well filled croup and correct tailset and carriage. Balanced front and rear angulation and straight, strong hocks. Well off for forechest and depth of chest, with ample bone all round. Straight and parallel front legs standing on tight cat-like feet. This very well handled, elegant and appealing young dog, moved straight and true, with good forward reach and rear drive. Pleased to award him BOB and he was later awarded WG4.

 2. Fogarty, Paisey, Ingram, Ingram & Lack's Jojavik Shake to Fame brown and rust male of almost two years of age, square and balanced with great bone and substance. Strong head, good length and depth of muzzle, full dentition and scissor bite and correct eye colour for coat. Ample forechest, with brisket to elbows and well sprung ribs. Totally balanced with correct length of neck into well laid shoulder, strong sloping topline, short firm loin and well filled croup and correct tail set. Good front and rear angulation with a nice turn of stifle. Although this muscular, well turned out male was expertly handled, he was a tad excited and played his patient handler up at moments. When settled, he covered the ring with power, reach and drive. A strong male Dobermann who pushed hard for first place. RBOB

 3. Everley's Manzart Like I Love You six-month-old on the day, elegant brown and rust female in super condition who sparkled at her Open Show debut and took the day in her stride. Correct scissor bite and dentition, beautiful wedge-shaped head with correct proportions for age, dark almond-shaped eyes and a most appealing expression. Front legs seen from the front and side were straight and parallel to each other with good bone and tight catlike feet all round. Good forechest and with decent depth of chest and spring of rib still developing. Clean and correct length of neck into well laid shoulder and slightly sloping, firm topline and correct tail set with balanced angulation front and rear and with a good underline, decent turn of stifle and straight hocks. A very well presented and confident youngster who was a delight to go over and impressed with her overall balance. She moved out nicely with precision and purpose and always made the most of herself. BPIB and delighted to see her later take WPG1 and finally win BPIS

 Handling Classes

 17-29 Years (1,0)

1. Lucy Wareham handling a Spaniel (Clumber). Well turned out, sympathetic, kind and quiet handler who made the best of her dog on the stack and also on movement, keeping the dog at the correct distance from me. Showed her dog in a calm and confident manner. Stood alone but a well deserved win.

30-59 Years (6,1) An almost full class of extremely competent handlers.

 1. Katie-Jayne Jennings handling a Maltese. Smartly turned out and at one with her dog and confidently moved at the correct pace and in perfect harmony. She impressed with her handling skills on the table and ground. Beautiful to watch and a handler I couldn't fault and could have watched all day.

 2. Victoria Norton handling a Kooikerhondje. This well mannered handler carried out the moves with impressive handling skills with her dog at the correct pace. A very quiet confident handler who showed her dog in a competent manner.

60+ Years (9,4) The quality and skill in this class was overall extremely good and I was most impressed with everyone's handling ability.

 1. Caroline Gammon handling a Hungarian Vizsla. Extremely well turned out and confident handler who was always in the right place, ensuring she never got between me and the dog. She carried out the the moves using all of the ring and had a fantastic connection with her dog and with perfect lead changes. Faultless and a joy to watch.

 2. Julie Moorcroft handling a Miniature Schnauzer. Another beautifully presented dog with a smartly turned out handler who handled with great skill and confidence. She shadowed perfectly, allowing me full view of her dog at all times.
