A huge thank you to the Bull Terrier Club of Wales for inviting me to judge your show. The atmosphere was wonderful with plenty of spectators giving a great buzz around the ring, and the hospitality second to none. I am honoured to have been given such an incredible entry and despite absentees I had plenty of lovely exhibits to go over. Thank you all so much for bringing your dogs under me and making for a fantastic day.

1st WAGGYBULLIES PRETTY VACANT AT JANKRIS (MRS CHELSEA SMITH) RBD BPIB

White 6 months with brindle ears. A raw puppy of Terrier type. Head long, well filled, gentle profile though enough on top to come down yet. Small well placed eye. Mouth level. Long swan-like neck into well laid shoulder. Well up on pasterns leading into small neat feet. Elbows well tucked. Level topline leading to well set tail. Excellent bend of stifle with well developed second thigh for his age. Moved parallel both ways with drive. Light and effortless on his feet. BPD, RBD & BPIB

2nd ONYX STONE ( ZOE STONER)

An exuberant 7 month black brindle and white. Head filled with downface. Small piercing eye. Ears well set but reluctant to use them. Mouth correct. Great bone and substance. Neat feet, slightly turned out 10 and 2. Well muscled throughout for his age. Tail set and carried quite high which did spoil his outline. Difficult to assess movement as very erratic.

1st KENLEAP BRUTUS FOR AFANBULL (MR & MISS J & N SHEEHY & FOSTER) BD BOB

2 year old Muscular, cobby, bull type brindle and white. Excellent egg shaped head, well filled and turned with finish. Ears well set and held at all times. Small well placed eye giving him a keen expression. Long canines in correct place, two incisors misplaced. A very typey male presenting a typical outline. Deep forechest, prominent in profile that really accentuated his overall outline, well laid shoulder. Level topline into well set tail. Hardened condition throughout. Moved freely with drive, touch close behind. To be critical would prefer tighter feet and better presented coat. BD & BOB

Bitch 9 years, red and white. Head with gentle profile. Small eye. Well set ears to frame her face. Mouth just off. Good reach of neck into a well laid shoulder. Elbows well tucked. Deep in forechest. Touch long cast. Very well muscled second thigh. Great condition for age. Moved freely both ways, just loses her topline a little on the move. BV

2nd CH AFANBULL GORGEOUS GEORGE (MR & MISS J & N SHEEHY & FOSTER)

Handsome 9 yrs white with black ears. Well filled head with downface. Ears well set, damage to one ear but does not hinder his overall expression. Undershot. Short coupled male, a little plump in his older years, second thigh a touch soft now. Out at the elbows. Moves well behind, quite wide coming.

1st AFANBULL RITA ORA (MR & MRS M & H SHARMAN)

11 month white with black ear. Pretty head well filled with a gentle profile. Mouth undershot. Long, well muscled neck into correctly laid shoulder. Deep in forechest, presenting a lovely outline. Feet turn out slightly and somewhat untidy. Well off for bone and substance for her age. Level topline into correctly set tail, though she was reluctant to hold it up. Good bend of stifle with well muscled second thigh. Moved ok though she appeared somewhat nervous. A little wide coming.

1st AFANBULL MUNUKA HONEY (MR & MISS J & N SHEEHY & FOSTER)

17 month White very typey bitch. Head well filled with turn and finish. Tiny eye giving her a beautiful expression with ears bang on top. Mouth ok. Muscular neck into well laid shoulders. Straight front with plenty of substance and solid round bone. Feet untidy. Topline level into well set and carried tail. Coat could be better presented. Somewhat choppy in the rear on the move but ok coming.

1st BRIDENS SABBRA CADABRA AT CILWENDEG (MR & MRS R J & L M THOMAS) RBB

15 month well marked, striking black brindle and white in gleaming coat. Large and imposing, she really caught my eye as she entered the ring. Wide, egg shaped head, plenty of fill with profile and finish. Mouth undershot. Small eye really giving her an intense expression. Deep in forechest, prominent in profile. Powerful and straight in front. Level topline. Plenty of bone and substance about her, though I felt she was quite overweight with no visible tuck up from the brisket. Second thigh soft. Moved well going with drive, surprisingly light on her small neat feet. A touch wide coming. A shame she was carrying so much weight as I felt it spoiled her a little today. RBB

2nd ARCHETYPE TOSHEROON FOR WAYBULLY JW (MR & MRS K & V WAYCOTT)

4 year old red and white. Long in head with enough fill but lacking a little in profile. Kind eye. Ears bang on top and well used. Mouth ok. Shoulder well laid back into level topline. Decent forechest. Good bone. Feet a little untidy. Good bend of stifle, second thigh a touch soft. Tail set on well but held a little like a sickle. Holds her topline on the move but tends to paddle in the front.

1st TEIRWGWYN MISS HAZEL OF WAYBULLY (MR & MRS K & V WAYCOTT) BB

3 year old Brindle and white. Long in head with enough fill and downface. Small eye and small well set ears held throughout. Canines long and well placed, two incisors misplaced. Long well muscled neck into a correctly laid back shoulder. Tight small feet and enough bone and substance for size. Hardened condition. Excellent bend of stifle with well developed second thigh. Topline level with tail set and held horizontally at all times. Moves with drive, with light and precise steps. A touch close in the rear. BB, RBOB & BOS

1st CASAMELROSE IRON HORSE (MR & MS S & E MASKELL)

6 months Tricolour, very raw terrier type puppy. Just over measure. Head long, profile still coming with plenty between the ears to come down yet. Ears well set but large at the moment. Mouth correct. Long neck, well muscled already. Straight front with well tucked in elbows. Very well bent stifle. Erratic in movement currently a touch choppy in the rear. Beautifully presented in gleaming coat. BPD

2nd C’EST LA VIE OPALPLAST FOR AFANBULL IMP POL (MR & MISS J & N SHEEHY & FOSTER)

9 month black brindle. Over measure. Well filled head, with downface. Small eye with small ears well set. Excellent expression. Scissor bite with instanding canine. Straight front with small neat feet. Plenty of bone and substance, short coupled. Moved well both ways with drive. Unfortunately, only one testicle felt at this time.

1st BOWNESBULLS BAB’S BEST (MR & MRS D & J BOWNES)

14 months white. Over measure. Head with just enough turn in profile. Mouth just off. A difficult young lad to go over as he was very excitable. A little narrow in front. Level topline. Well laid shoulder. Short coupled male, with a level topline. Moved very well parallel both ways. Tail set and carried quite high.

1st FERGUSTAFF KRAKEN (MRS L J MARSHALLSAY) BD BOB

14 month white with black eye patch. Just over the measure. Very typey in hardened condition with a gleaming coat. Caught my eye immediately. Head well filled with turn and finish. Excellent expression. Tiny eye with the smallest ears well set framing his face. Mouth level. Neck long and strong. Shoulder is upright. Topline level with correct slight rise over well muscled loins. Moved well behind with drive, slightly wide coming. Tail well set and carried horizontally at all times giving a beautiful outline. So very well schooled showing off all his virtues with a cheeky glint in his eye. To be critical would prefer slightly tidier feet. BD & BOB

2nd SALVUSLINE AGAINST ALL ODDS WITH ARIBAX (MR & MR & MISS & MISS J & R & K & T SALVADO & MARTIN & KOSOVETS & MACKIE) RBD

16 months. Over the measure. Well marked brindle and white, another gleaming coat. Excellent egg shaped head, well filled and turned with finish. Great expression. One incisor misplaced. Deep in forechest which really accentuates his overall outline. Feet small and tidy, though they are turned out slightly. Neck a little stuffy and long cast in the body. A touch overloaded in the shoulder. Well muscled throughout in hardened condition. Holds his topline well with well carried tail. Stifle well bent. A touch close behind and tends to cross in his front movement. RBD

3rd TILLBACH APOLLO (MRS J WILLIAMS)

Although I did not critique this male, I would like to mention the effortless and parallel movement on this boy. My best moving exhibit of the day.

9 months black brindle and white. Under the measure. Very striking. Head long, with a gentle profile. Could do with a touch more fill under the eye. Somewhat reluctant to use her ears at times, would prefer to see her a little more exuberant. Correct mouth with long canines. Long neck into well laid shoulder. Well up on her pasterns with the smallest and neatest feet. Straight front, well muscled all over for age. Tail well set and carried horizontally at all times. Moved very well, parallel both ways holding her topline. BPB & BPIB

2nd ARIBAX FIRECRACKER (MR & MISS R & T MARTIN & MACKIE)

10 month old brindle and white. Under measure. Egg shaped head, well filled with turn. Small well set ears bang on top. Mouth ok. Short in upper arm. Deep and attractive forechest. Straight front. Plenty of bone and substance throughout. Tends to lose her topline just a touch when standing. Tail set and carried a little high. Moved well coming, a little close going. Very well schooled though had a habit of leaning forward exacerbating her shoulder.

1st MAGIC BEAUTY OPALPLAST FOR AFANBULL IMP POL (MR & MISS J & N SHEEHY & FOSTER)

18 months white that was full of herself! On the measure. Head long with fill, but lacking in profile. Small eye and well set ears. Mouth ok. A cobby bitch, well tucked elbows and straight front. Feet could be tighter. Plenty of bone and substance in a small package, in hardened muscled condition. Tail well set and carried horizontally at all times. Coat could be better presented. Quite a busy girl, very erratic. Settled enough to assess her movement. Moved ok both ways with topline held throughout.

2nd GUESS WHO'S BACK (MS & MR C & H PEAK & SAHIN)

A very lively red and white. Just over the measure. Head long but lacking in profile and fill. Small eye and small well set ears. Correct mouth with long canines. Long neck into well laid shoulders and straight front. Longer cast than 1st. Body in hardened and muscular condition with well developed second thigh. Quite overawed with the occasion and kept crabbing, could not really assess her movement correctly.

Tricolour 3 years old with glossy coat. Beautifully presented. Over the measure. Excellent and striking egg shaped head, well filled with turn and finish. Eye a little kind. Ears small and bang on top, though reluctant to use them at times. Mouth correct. Long sweeping neck, shoulder a touch upright. Level topline with correct slight rise over loin. Straight front into neat, small feet. Stifle well bent and well muscled second thigh. Tail set ok, held a bit high on the move. Moved out ok, freely and parallel both ways but would have preferred to have seen her move a little faster to see her really drive. BB. RBOB & BOS

2nd FERGUSTAFF FALLEN ANGEL TO RAZORSEDGE (MISS E PULLEN) RBB

14 months black brindle and white in gleaming condition. Just over the measure. Long egg shaped head, well filled with gentle profile and finish. Small eye with an excellent expression. Canines instanding. Long neck leading into an ok shoulder. Level topline. Plenty of bone and substance, hardened condition, very well muscled second thigh. Tail is high set and carried almost vertical which spoiled her outline. Moved ok both ways, another that was very well schooled showing off her virtues. RBB
