Rhodesian Ridgeback Club Of Great Britain

Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of Great Britain Open Show

Sunday 7th June 2026

I was delighted to have the pleasure and opportunity to judge the Special Award Classes at the RR Club of GB June Open Show.

A lovely atmosphere, supportive exhibitors and some super quality dogs. Wonderful – and the weather was kind enough to hold off for us until the finish.

Mouths and ridges were almost all fine, so I have not commented on individuals.

Special Award Junior Dog or Bitch (8-0)

1st = Barker’s Delianza She’s Timeless

Gorgeous, 11 months, quality puppy bitch with a very bright future. She fills the eye with feminine strength and symmetry. Beautiful neck leading into clean, well laid-back shoulders, with balanced upper arm. Excellent bone. Deep, well sprung ribbing with correct length of loin. Super feet, excellent rear quarters and she moved so soundly. Lovely, easy, purposeful action when viewed in profile. Definitely one to watch.

2nd = Storey & Piehl’s Kiromol Ain’t Misbehavin (AI)

Another top drawer bitch at 12 months is just out of puppy. I loved her expression and well balanced head, strong but still beautifully feminine. Excellent front and rear angulation. Just needs to fill in a little in front. Good spring of rib and depth of chest. Broad, well angulated thighs. Well let down hocks. Moved very sound on the up and back, and with good reach in profile.

3rd = Nevison’s Bikquest Sunshine Ember

Special Award Open Dog or Bitch (12 – 4)

1st = Dennis’ Priorpark Pragmatist

At 2 ½ years this typey, masculine dog must be just coming into his own. Classy, well made head with strong underjaw. Beautiful long neck let into well placed shoulders. Excellent topline. Good ribbing and depth. Strong, well muscled and angulated rear quarters. Well let down hocks. Moved soundly coming and going, and with fluid, easy front extension in profile.

2nd = McIntosh & Mackfall’s Chagall Iona With Attitude

Just 3 days in age between 1st and 2nd and this girl has just edged ahead in maturity. Feminine but with that breed strength. Long strong neck, let into excellent shoulder angulation. Good topline and underline. Moved soundly, but I felt the winner just had the edge on rear drive.

3rd = Dawson, Dawson & Parsons’ Priorpark Problem Solved

Special Award Champion Dog or Bitch (4-3)

1st = Hodge’s Ch Kxoxo I’m Old Fashioned For Colkeririn JW (Imp Fin)

This mature masculine boy was beautifully balanced. Excellent, refined head planes with strong underjaw and good ear placement and shape. Strong neck. Good front angulation, balanced with rear. Good depth of chest with fill in in front. Well knuckled feet and good bone. Moved soundly and with good reach in front. A worthy champion. Lovely to have hands on him.
