I wish to extend my sincere appreciation to the Officers and Committee of the Vulnerable Native Breeds Club for inviting me to serve as judge at their 39th Breed Show. I am also incredibly grateful to the exhibitors for presenting their dogs for my evaluation. We all had a long wait, and I appreciate the effort and time taken to present your dogs in the current weather.

Excellent-quality two-year-old male, maturing well. He has an impressive head with a strong stop, square muzzle, strong underjaw, and correct scissor bite. Expressive dark brown eyes with good pigmentation. A well-arched neck, balanced with head proportions, flows into well-placed shoulders and excellent front angulation. He has impressive bone, good depth of brisket and well-sprung ribs. His topline shows a gentle rise leading to excellent rear angulation, a good curve of stifle and strong hocks. His post-graduate coat is correct and changing nicely as he matures. On the move, this well-muscled male shows excellent reach and rear drive, moving with ease and confidence for his handler. A handsome, square, well-proportioned dog, exceptionally presented. I am confident he has champion potential and will be one to watch; I am a great admirer of this young gentleman.

A very impressive eight-year-old male with excellent breed type and quality. He has a strong head with a good stop, square muzzle, strong underjaw, and correct scissor bite. His expressive dark brown eyes are complemented by good pigmentation. A well-arched neck leads into well-placed shoulders and excellent front angulation and good bone. He has a deep brisket, well-sprung ribs, and a lovely topline with a gentle rise. His rear angulation is excellent, with a good curve of stifle and strong hocks. A handsome, well-muscled male with a mature adult coat, he was presented superbly. He moved exceptionally well for his handler, showing excellent reach and drive. A lovely adult male and a pleasure to assess.

Beautiful feminine bitch of excellent breed type, with a lovely head, good stop, square muzzle, and correct scissor bite. She has gorgeous expressive brown eyes and excellent pigmentation. Her well-arched neck flows into well-placed shoulders with excellent front angulation. She has good depth of brisket, nicely sprung ribs, and a gently rising topline. Excellent rear angulation with a good curve of stifle. Her mature adult coat was beautifully presented, with a lovely crisp grizzle jacket. It is hard to believe this lady is eleven years old, as she moved so well. I loved her and wished they could all move this well at her age.

A beautiful, square, feminine five-and-a-half-year-old bitch of excellent breed type. She has excellent head proportions, a good stop, strong muzzle, and correct scissor bite. Her beautiful dark brown eyes have the sweetest expression and are enhanced by excellent pigmentation. A lovely arched neck flows into well-positioned shoulders, with excellent front angulation, lovely bone for a bitch, good depth of brisket and well-sprung ribs. She has an excellent topline, strong rear angulation, good muscle, a lovely curve of stifle and strong hocks. Her exceptional adult coat was beautifully presented, with an excellent grey grizzle jacket that felt crisp to the touch. Her movement was effortless with excellent front reach and rear drive movement, and it was lovely to see dog and handler working in such unison. From the moment she entered the ring, she showed herself superbly and clearly knew she was special. A beautiful, high-quality bitch and one I will always remember in my judging career.

 2nd & RESERVE BEST IN BREED (243) MOLYNEUX JUST YOU WAIT MR G & MRS D A CASTLE

Another beautiful bitch, slightly larger than first place and just over two and a half years old. She has lovely head proportions, a good square muzzle, strong stop, and correct scissor bite. Her expressive dark brown eyes are enhanced by good pigmentation. A lovely neck flows into well-positioned shoulders, with excellent front angulation, good depth of brisket and well-sprung ribs. She has a gently rising topline, good rear angulation, strong hocks and is well muscled. Her coat is developing into a lovely adult coat and was beautifully presented. She moved well, showing good reach and drive. Another lovely bitch to watch, and one I hope will receive her champion title.
