Bracco Italiano Championship Show
22nd March 2026
I have long been interested in the breed, having owned them before CC’s were available . I was delighted with the entry and the overall quality of the dogs and the good friendly atmosphere that prevailed. A few points to watch are that some are getting rather long in body and some lacking in substance. I encountered a few with goggly eyes which spoils the noble expression so essential to the breed. Movement was generally good with just one or two with choppy front movement but overall the extended fast trot was evident in most exhibits.
MPD (4,0)
1 Hazeltine’s Bracchini Burst Your Bubble for Corotine chestnut just 6 months and very promising. Good head with divergent planes, with good expression , excellent bone and substance for age, moved out well with a good driving rear. Good angulations at both ends. Nice flow from neck to shoulder with a good topline held on the move . Well handled BPD
2 Coglan’s Bracchini’s Absolute Drama Excellent type with good head ,nice eye and good expression. Ribbing developing well, as is forechest. Moved well in profile but 1 was a bit more positive in rear movement going away. Nevertheless a nice puppy of good proportions in head and body .

Orange roan 17months A well moving dog with a driving rear and good front extension, good head and expression, masculine without coarseness . Good body . With good return to the upper arm and forechest developing well. Correct proportions with good ribs .Standing presents a good picture with an almost square outline and good topline.
YD (4,1)
1 Dodd and Struther’s Lake, Elfindrew Yankee Doodle. Impressive young dog who caught my eye as he entered the ring. Excellent outline, with correct proportion of leg to body, I liked his head and eye, masculine but with no sign of coarseness, long and lean with divergent planes and an excellent expression. Good neck into well laid shoulders . Corresponding angles front and rear . Good bone, lovely feet . Presents as nearly square in body and has a very good topline. Where this dog comes into his own is on the move, he owns the ring striding out in front and driving from the rear covering the ground with ease. Moving he has excellent head carriage and keeps his topline. He continued his winning ways in the challenge and I was pleased to award him his 1st CC. One to watch for the future.
