Firstly, I would like to thank the officers and committee members for their warm welcome before and during my judging. I am also grateful to my stewards for keeping the ring running smoothly, and to the exhibitors for presenting such outstanding dogs and accepting my decisions so sportingly. The overall quality of the entries was exceptional. Although some exhibits stood alone in their classes, their wins were well deserved. With the notorious Cumbrian wet weather returning to Cartmel this year, I must commend both exhibitors and dogs for coping so well.

Schfaild’s CH VICKVALLY MISS CHICAGO SOUL JW 2yo Brindle & White Bitch, even though she stood alone in the ring she had such confidence and not swayed by todays weather which she took in her stride, she has the most engaging large dark eyes with a well-defined stop, she has a strong square muzzle with correct bite, she has a slightly arched neck which flows nicely in her well placed shoulders, she has a good depth of chest, straight front legs with well-muscled patterns, she has well spung ribs with a short strong loin and correct low tail set. She moved around the show ring with such graceful movement, well-presented and handled to perfection BOB

Sharkey’s RURUBULZ FRENCH MASTER, 4yo Brindle Dog, This handsome boy took my eye as he entered the ring he has a lovely masculine head with a well-defined muzzle, correct bite, he has gorgeous dark eyes with a well-defined stop, he has powerful well arched neck of moderate length which flowed nicely into well placed shoulders, he has a wide brisket with well sprung ribs and short strong loin, correct tail set, his feet were compact and well knuckled, he moved around the ring with confidence keeping a level topline on the move, superbly handled and well presented. Westmorland’s ALDHAMMILL’S LUCIE LOCKET AT GAILBULLS JW 18mths Pied Bitch, such a beautiful feminine girl he was so affectionate on the table with those gorgeous dark eyes, correct bite she has a good defined stop with fine wrinkle she has a lovely strong neck which flowed nicely into her well placed shoulders, she has good depth of chest and nicely ribbed back with a strong loin, correct low set tail, compact and well knuckled feet, she moved around the ring with good free flowing and sound movement, well-presented and expertly handled.

1 Hutchinson’s GAILBULLS MISS GABRIELLE FOR OSCHALBEN 18mths Pied Bitch, I loved this girl when he entered the ring she had such confidence, she has a beautiful feminine head of correct proportions, lovely dark expressive eyes with a good well defined stop, and with fine wrinkle, lovely black nose with open nostrils, correct bite, she has a lovely strong neck with flowed into well placed shoulders, good depth of chest and nicely ribbed back with a strong muscular loin, she has a low set tail, strong muscular legs with moderate angulation, she has small compact feet, well knuckled so typical of this breed, she moved around the ring with such confidence with a free flowing gait, keeping a level topline on the move, expertly presented and handled to perfection BOB

Westmorlands GAILBULLS IT’S EDITH, 18mths Pied Bitch, sister of the above she has recently had puppies but she certainly gave her sister a run for the money, she certainly had the attitude and confidence, she has a beautiful feminine head with lovely dark eyes with a good stop with fine wrinkle, correct bite, she has a lovely muscular neck flowing into well placed shoulders, good depth of chest with well sprung ribs and a short strong loin, correct low set tail, nicely muscled throughout, she has lovely small compact feet and nicely knuckled, she covered the ground well keeping a level topline on the move, she was professionally handled and well presented

Roskell’s DORIKEN ED TURNER 9mths Dog A very handsome masculine boy, gorgeous dark eyes, with a well-defined stop, he has a correct scissor bite, lovely high set ears, he has a slightly arched strong neck with flowed nicely into well placed shoulders, he has good depth of chest and nicely ribbed back with a short loin, correct high tailset, nicely muscled throughout, good front and rear angulation, he covered the ground well with such determination and confidence with a light and energetic gait, keeping a level topline on the move, well-presented and handled to perfection. Roskell’s CH KEN GO SHUN’YOU KENSHA 8yo Red Dog, I have seen this dog previously at many shows and always admired him and I wasn’t disappointed to go over him today, he certainly showed his socks off today, he was very alert as he entered the ring which immediately caught my eye, he has a lovely masculine head with very expressive dark almond eyes, good stop with slight furrow and small triangular shaped ears, he has a correct scissor bite, he has a slightly arched muscular neck of moderate length which flowed nicely into well placed shoulders, he has a well-developed fore chest and is nicely ribbed back with a short loin, correct high tailset which curled nicely over his back, he has a lovely coat of correct texture and he is nicely muscled throughout, he has cat like feet with well knuckled toes so typical of this breed he covered the ground well with a quick light energetic gait, professional presented and expertly handled to perfection. 2. Knipe’s RAHIMA IM SEREN AT XENORA 6yo Red Bitch, she has a very feminine head of correct proportions, lovely dark eyes, correct scissor bite, she has a strong arched neck flowing into well placed shoulders she is very well put together maybe carrying a little extra weight, she is nicely ribbed back with short loin. She has a good front and rear angulation with low hocks, she strides out with light and easy gait, she moved around the ring keeping a level topline, well-presented and expertly handled.

Roberts FRENCHLANDS SHINING STAR OVER MARBLEDALE 9mths Black & White Bitch, A lovely puppy with so much character, she had the most beautiful dark oval eyes, and such a gorgeous feminine head, she has lovely pendant ears, correct bite, a slender neck which flowed beautifully into her well placed shoulders, she is nicely ribbed back with a strong loin, she has a correct tailset with lovely feathering to her tail, she has good front and rear angulation and is nicely muscled throughout, she has a beautiful coat for her age, she moved like a dream around the ring with such confidence and style, and with an effortless gait covering the ground well, expertly presented and handled to perfection.

2. Schuckardt’s FRENCHLANDS POLAR STAR 9mths Black & White Bitch, sister to the above, she certainly gave her sister a run for the money, both girls were beautiful and it was splitting hairs between them, there is so much to like about this girl, she has gorgeous dark oval eyes and again she has a lovely feminine head, correct bite, she has a lovely arched neck which flowed nicely into her well placed shoulders, she has good spring of rib with a strong loin, she has a correct high tail set with beautiful feathering to her tail, she has good angulation and nicely muscled throughout, she has a beautiful coat of correct texture, she moved the around the ring with confidence, well presented and expertly handled, I’m sure these two sisters will a successful show career ahead of them.

1. Schuckardt’s FRENCHLANDS MIDNIGHT STAR 9mths Black Dog, I wrote Amazing and Wow in my notes! I was told he is the brother to the girls in the puppy class above, this boy certainly took my eye as he entered the ring, he had such confidence and oozed excellence as he stood and moved around the ring, and he didn’t disappoint! This boy has gorgeous dark oval eyes, he has a correct reverse scissor bite, good stop, well feathered pendant ears, he has a lovely strong well arched neck with flowed into well placed shoulders, he has a well-developed chest for his age, nicely ribbed back with strong loin, he has well developed hind quarters, he has a well feathered high tailset which he carried nicely over his back, he moved around the ring with confidence and with a free flowing and jaunty movement keeping a level topline on the move, he was certainly a picture standing and was superbly handled and expertly presented. I’m sure this boy will have a very successful show career ahead of him, I had no hesitation in awarding him BP & BOB & UTILITY PUPPY GROUP 1

Poole & Roberts MARBLEDALE ORIGINAL 13mths Black & White Dog, I wrote “Absolutely stunning!” in my notes, Another quality dog who just excelled in type, this boy has a beautiful masculine head with gorgeous dark oval eyes, he has a good stop, lovely pendant feathered ears, he has a strong slender neck flowing into well placed shoulders, he is ribbed back nicely with a strong loin, he has a high tailset well feathered which she carried nicely over his back, he has good rear angulation, he has a lovely coat of correct texture a credit to his owner, he moved out freely covering the ground well, he was a picture standing and was expertly handled and presented well.

Schuckardt’s MARBLEDALE JMAGINE THIS AT FRENCHLANDS 2yo Black & White Dog, and yet another quality dog, he has a lovely masculine head of correct proportions, he has lovely dark oval eyes, well feathered pendant ears, he has a slender neck which flowed into well placed shoulders, he has good depth of chest and is nicely ribbed back with a strong loin, he has a correct high tail set heavily feathered which he carried nicely over his back, he was nicely muscled throughout, he has a beautiful coat of correct texture a credit to his owner, he moved around the ring with confidence with that typical jaunty movement, well-presented and expertly handled.

Swawska’s MAPIMAKASTAR NADIA JOL RIO 8mths Gold with Black Mask Bitch, this beautiful girl caught my eye as she entered the ring, she had such confidence with that look at me I’m so gorgeous and I know it, she has beautiful dark eyes, correct bite, lovely strong neck which flowed nicely into her well placed shoulders, she has a good depth of chest for her age, she is nicely ribbed back with a strong loin, correct high tail set with lovely plume, she has good front and rear angulation, she has an amazing coat for her age a credit to her owner, she moved around the ring with such confidence with lovely free flowing movement keeping a level topline as she went, she stood perfectly and always in synch with her owner, very well presented and handled to perfection.

2. Longstaff’s CARLITA’S PASSION TO LOVE AT SHIHMALI 11mths Gold & White Bitch, I have judged this girl before and it was good to see that she is maturing nicely, as before she just wanted to please her owner, she has the most beautiful dark round eyes, with a good stop and correct bite, she has a lovely arched neck flowing into well placed shoulders, she has a lovely arched neck flowing into well placed shoulders, nicely ribbed back with a strong loin, correct high tailset, she has an excellent abundance of coat of correct texture a credit to her owner, she is nicely muscled throughout, she moved around the show ring with confidence, and kept a level topline as she covered the show ring with a beautiful free flowing stride, superbly presented and expertly handled.

Spencer=Down & Stevenson’s SHENLEYVALE SIMPLY THE ZEST AT EVIESHU 12mths Gold & White Bitch, Absolutely beautiful girl, she has the most exquisite feminine head with endearing dark round eyes, she has a good stop and correct bite, she has a beautiful arched neck flowing into well placed shoulders, she has a strong front and is well ribbed back with a strong loin, she has a correct high set tail with lovely plume carried nicely over her back, she has a beautiful coat of correct texture a credit to her owner, she is nicely muscled throughout and she moved perfectly and effortlessly around the ring with a free flowing gait, well-presented and handled to perfection.

Moore & Casentieri’s EMERSON ALPIU SLENIS OF ALCHEZ JW ShCEx OSW (IMP LTU), 5yo Black Dog, I wrote in my notes “Absolutely stunning”, I have judged this dog before and was so pleased to see him today, he is certainly a showman and excelled by showing himself off with such confidence, he has such endearing large round dark eyes wide apart, with a good stop and correct bite, giving that overall typical Chrysanthemum look to his head, he has a lovely arched neck with flows down into well placed shoulders, he has good depth of chest and nicely ribbed back with a strong loin, he has a correct high tail set with fabulous plume carried gaily over his back, he has such a beautiful coat of correct texture a credit to his owner, he is nicely muscled throughout with good front and rear angulation, he moved around the ring with such confidence and with free lowing movement covering the ground well, expertly presented and handled to perfection.

Spencer-Down’s CHANIKOS HARPER SEVEN AT EVIESHU JW 2yo Black & White Bitch, Another stunning Shih Tzu she just oozed excellence, she has such lovely feminine head with gorgeous dark round eyes, adequate stop, she has a lovely strong arched neck, well placed shoulders, she has a good depth of chest and well ribbed back with strong loin, she has a high tailset with fabulous plume carried nicely over her back, she is nicely muscled throughout, good front and rear angulation, she has such a beautiful coat of correct texture a credit to her owner, she covered the ground well with an effortless gait, well presented and handled to perfection.

Moore’s CH UNSTOPPABLE ALPIU SLEMIS TO JAXTU JW ShCEx OSW (IMP LTU), 2yo Gold & White Dog, I have judged this handsome boy before and it was a pleasure seeing him entered here today, has the most adorable dark round eyes, with a lovely masculine head of correct proportions giving that distinctive chrysanthemum like effect so typical of this breed, he has a short square muzzle with correct bite and good stop, he has a superb arched neck which flows into well placed shoulders, he has a good depth of chest and nicely ribbed back with a short strong loin, correct high tail set with a beautiful plume which he carried gaily over his back, this boy has an amazing abundance of coat of the correct texture an absolute credit to his owner, he is nicely muscled throughout, I have always admired this dog and today I was not disappointed he certainly showed his socks off despite the abysmal weather conditions, he covered the ground well with a free flowing gait and strong rear action, he was a picture standing, well-presented and expertly handled to perfection, I was so pleased to award him top honours, BOB & GROUP 1

2. Swawska’s JOLLY OZIRESUN AT MAPIMAKASTAR (IMP LAV) 7yo Gold & White Bitch, Another Quality girl, she has a fabulous feminine head, who has such endearing dark round eyes. Good stop with a short square muzzle and correct bite, she has a lovely arched neck which flows into well placed shoulders, she has a good spring of rib and a strong loin, correct high tail set with a lovely plume which she carried nicely over her back, she is nicely muscled throughout, she has an amazing abundance of coat a credit to her owner, she moved around the showring with confidence and style and with that typical free flowing movement with strong rear action, superbly presented and professionally handled.

Abercrombie’s TIBWOOD IT MEANS BEAUTIFUL 15mths Gold Sable Bitch A very confident young lady who settled well into the ring despite the abysmal weather conditions today, she presented a very pleasing typical Tibetan Spaniel expression with beautiful dark expressive oval eyes with black rims, and correct head proportions. She has a slight defined stop with slightly domed skull so typical of this breed, she has high set ears that are nicely furnished, she has a medium muzzle with correct bite, she has a moderately short neck which flows into well placed shoulders, she has a good spring of rib and level back, she has lovely small neat feet so typical of this breed, She carries herself nicely she has a well-set tail which has a lovely plume that she carried nicely over her back as she moved freely and soundly around the ring with light, free action, a very promising young lady, well-presented and expertly handled. Abercrombie’s TIBWOOD SHE TELLS OUR STORY JW 4yo Gold Sable with Black Mask Bitch, she has a pleasing feminine head with a typical expression, and well-placed dark oval eye eyes and nicely furnished ears which complemented her overall look. she has a slight defined stop with a slightly domed skull; she has a medium length of muzzle with correct bite. She has a moderately short strong neck with flows into her well placed shoulders, she has a good spring of rib and level back with a richly plumed tail that she carried gaily over her back, she has well-furnished buttocks, she has lovely small feet with feathering between her toes, so typical of this breed she has moderate bone and holds a level topline as she moved well around the ring with quick positive action. She was presented well and handled to perfection. BOB

Casentieri’s ZVENTA SVENTANA YA PEREWINKLE (IMP RUS), Xoloitzcuintle Min (Mexican Hairless), 6yo Black Dog, I have judged this boy before and it was good to see he is still the showman I remember oozing quality, and again just like before he certainly wanted to show his socks off, he has a lovely masculine head with beautiful dark eyes, good stop with correct scissor bite, he has a strong well-muscled neck which flows into well placed shoulders, he has a good depth of chest and nicely ribbed back with a strong loin, correct tail set, nicely muscled throughout, he has beautiful soft warm skin and even though he stood alone he showed himself off well and always in synch with his owner, keeping a level topline on the move, he moved with such elegance and style. NAMROHT BEAST FROM THE EAST, Chow Chow, 8mths Cream Dog, such a handsome young boy, I loved his character as he entered the ring, he has a lovely masculine head, with gorgeous dark oval shaped eyes, good pigment in mouth with that typical bluish-black tongue, good stop with correct scissor bite, his width of muzzle to skull ratio ideal, he has a beautiful strong arched neck that flows into well placed shoulders, good depth of chest and nicely ribbed back with a strong loin, correct tail set, he is compact and well balanced throughout, he has a lovely profuse coat of correct texture, he displayed that typical true rear movement, both in profile and coming and going giving that typical pendulum like action, professionally presented and handled to perfection. unfortunately, he got spooked today by the weather conditions, but I saw enough to assess his movement, BAVNSC PUPPY & UTILITY PUPPY GROUP 4

Davies KIMETSU AYUKI KORI GO AT KASAISHIRO Japanese Akita Inu 12mths White Bitch, I have judged this girl before and it was good to see her again today to see how she is maturing nicely, she has such and adorable feminine head, with lovely dark eyes and correct stop with a correct scissor bite, she has a lovely strong neck with flowed nicely into well placed shoulders, good depth of chest with a good spring of rib, she has a short strong loin and correct high tail set which was tightly curled, nicely muscled throughout, she has strong hindquarters which she used perfectly on the move, she covered the ground well in synch with her owner, keeping a level topline on the move, well-presented and expertly handled.

Fitton’s SHELAYNE’S CELEBRATION German Spitz (Mittel) 6mths Brown Sable & White Particolour Bitch, As she entered the ring she was alert and in total awe of her owner, she has such beautiful dark oval eyes, with a good stop, she has small high set ears, correct scissor bite, a short strong neck set into well placed shoulders, good depth of chest nicely ribbed back with a well-developed loin, she has a lovely high set tail that curled nicely over her back, correct coat texture, nicely angulated both front and rear, she has lovely small round feet with well arched toes, she stood with a lovely square outline and moved out with confidence with that typical brisk action, and kept a level topline whilst on the move, expertly handled and well-presented.

Thorman’s PETER PARKER AT NAMROHT Chow Chow 7yo Black Dog, I loved this boy so full of character and confidence, he certainly stood out today, he has such lovely dark oval shaped expressive eyes, correct scissor bite, he has a lovely blueish-black tongue so typical of this breed and he has good pigmentation in his mouth, he has a good strong neck flowing into well-placed shoulders, he was nicely ribbed back with a strong loin, correct tail set, he has a profuse coat of correct texture and has well developed hind quarters moving around the ring with a short striding gait on his tight round cat like feet, with that typical pendulum like action keeping a level topline on the move, nicely muscled throughout, expertly handled and well presented.
