Thank you to the committee for the invitation to judge the last championship show to be held in Scotland, before taking it back home to Ireland.

Thank you to the exhibitors for staying over, after the Scottish show the day before to exhibit under me, I really appreciated the support. Thankyou also to my very efficient stewards Heather and Jo quite a team!!

Class 1 Baby Puppy dog 5 entries 3 ab

1st Ellriches Malrich Old Fashioned

What a wonderful start to my day to find such a promising baby. Caught my eye as he strode into the ring. So much like his grandfather in type head and substance. Loved his head and depth of lip, nicely balanced with plenty of bone. Super sound even at this young age. Wish him well for the future, a star in the making BBPIS

2nd Blevins Blevwil Oh its Oswald

Another promising baby with a super head, level topline and good bone. Already an established show man, couldn’t match first today on the rear, but plenty of time on his side.

Class 2 Minor Puppy Dog 1 entry

1st Melbourne,Murray and Newmans Woferlow Dettorri at Diheath

Smart 6-month-old traditional Tri, very mature in body with well sprung rounded ribs, tidy front and good strong bone. Moved with power and true both front and rear. Pleasant head, would prefer a little more masculinity, but still very much a baby, lovely dark clean eye BPD

Class 3 Puppy Dog 2 entries

1st Cruikshanks Culsamond Bring it Ron

Large framed 10-month-old red blanket male will take time to fill his frame and tighten up. No mistaking his sex with masculine head and tremendous bone. Seemed a little unhappy today but did enough to win the class

2nd Hirsts,Melbournes and Campys Diheath Crackerjack for Kejana

Well grown black blanket male with a very handsome head. Strong body with good ribs reaching well back. Handler tends to rush him round the ring, which spoils the overall picture. Would prefer a little more correctness in front foot placement with one front foot turning out.

Class 5 Graduate dog 3 entries 1 ab

1st Jones Clanwillow Love and Dreams

A year-old traditional tri, lovely type with well-balanced angulation fore and aft. Dark lozenge clean eye with masculine but appealing expression. Ears a little heavy lacking the desired suppleness. Loved his showy look at me attitude. Moved well, one to watch for the future.

2nd Melbourne and Murray Diheath Cracker jw

Handsome tri with well-proportioned head, carrying the desired expression. On the move he covered the ground well. Just not quite as balanced in outline as the winner.

Class 6 Post grad dog 2 entries no ab

1st Lanes Goldenessence Deep Impact over Laneburn (imp prt)

Well-schooled black blanket, handled well to show off his virtues. Lovely for size and substance. well developed ribbing and a sound level topline contributing to an overall balanced outline. Eyes a little too round detracting from the characteristic expression.

2nd Kings Zawadi Life of Pi

Mature substantial male displaying pleasing masculinity throughout, presented in rock hard condition. Would benefit from better rib development and tighter feet. Not at all happy in the ring today, lacking any enthusiasm so was difficult to assess fully on the move.

Class 7 Limit dog 6 entries 2 ab

1st Feketes Nagyhegyi Pajkos Taylors of Harrogate imp hun

A hound I have watched mature into a fine example of the breed, and now he is fully mature and the best I have seen him. Strong head but in no way coarse, excellent bone and tidy well-padded feet. Structurally he was the best in the class with good lay back of shoulder although he would benefit from a touch more upper arm. Prominent breastbone and enough ground clearance. On the move today despite lacking reach and drive he did enough to win the class.

2nd Jones Clanwillow Fire and Ice

Another very showy Tri from this kennel, I would prefer him a touch bigger all round, but he has good bone. His head lacked the balance I prefer being shorter in back skull. He has good compact feet with well bunched toes. Another lacking reach in front

3rd Melbourne and Murrays Diheath Chekov jw

Class 8 Open dog 5 entries 1 ab

1st Jones AMGCHS ITCH Clanwillow back to th future WW26

An impressive dog I have judged previously as a raw junior, and I considered him then for the res CC . Since then, in the UK I feel he has been overlooked, and should be a very worthy champion by now. Having said that, he is very exuberant on the move, and I feel throws away his chances because of this. After the initial once round he settled nicely to the job in hand.

Stunning head with eyes of correct shape, would prefer them a shade darker, great depth of lip so sadly lacking in the breed. good length of neck and correct shoulder and upper arm giving him a wonderful prominent breastbone. Level topline and super ribbing. Balanced rear angulation and a true “apple bottom”

Not overdone in anyway, but an outstanding example of a stallion hound, who is fit for function, and moves with such powerful effortless action. Hopefully it won’t be long before he is awarded his 3rd cc- CC and BIS

2ND Suttons Ch Reveros Power of Love jw

A very worthy champion male, who is a good, honest well-muscled dog but for me today needed to carry a few more pounds. He is a moderate dog with many qualities to admire, and a super showy temperament. One of the soundest movers here today but for me just lacks a little in masculinity compared to the CC winner. RCC

3RD Johnston Blevwill Ron like the wind to Burnvale (IKC)

Class 10 Baby puppy bitch 6 entries 5 ab

1st Blevins Blevwil here is Hilda

A very pretty tri bitch puppy with so many lovely qualities. She has a very feminine head, clean dark eyes and lovely size and substance, with quality bone throughout. Good ribbing and already showing herself to be quite a show off! Unlucky to come up against the outstanding baby dog puppy today. BBPB

Class 12 Puppy Bitch 2 entries 1 ab

1st Cruikshankss Culsamond Diamond Bling

A well grown, mature 9-month-old quality bitch puppy. She has good length and super ground clearance. Her topline is rising slightly at this stage of her development, but I am sure this will balance out with maturity, as it was correct on the move. Sound and moving with great enthusiasm, showing really good rear drive, she just needs to tighten a little in front. Happy to award her BPB and BPIS

Class 13 Junior bitch 2 entries 1 ab

1st Baileys Chique to Chique a story with a tail for Longmynd

A 14 month old, extremely pretty and promising young bitch. Although standing alone, she fully deserved her first place and was seriously considered for the RCC. So flashy and free on the move, she is an absolute joy to watch as she powers around the ring. She just lacks a little in upper arm and neck length to achieve the outline I was looking for today, but she has a bright future ahead of her, and I’m sure her day will come.

Class 14 Graduate bitch 2 entries no ab

1st Unett Harvidene Breaking Dawn

An 18-month-old red and white bitch, nice for size and length, with good ground clearance. Presented in rock hard condition, I would prefer her eye a shade darker and found it a touch round, but she is a super pretty bitch with a good topline. Sympathetically handled to bring out the very best in her.

2nd Hirst and Melbournes Diheath Tinsel at Kejana

A frustrating bitch to assess, as she was clearly unhappy in the ring. She did improve as the class progressed and, to her credit allowed me to go over her. Her movement was difficult to assess fully. but from what I was able to see, she appeared sound .I sincerely hope she can overcome her unfortunate scare and go on to enjoy her time in the ring.

Class 15 Post Grad bitch 5 entries 2 ab

1st Jones Clanwillow Kiss the girl

A quality young bitch with good substance without being overdone or coarse. Excellent ribbing and topline, and I preferred her bone to the second placed bitch. A pleasing head, although her eyes are a shade too light and a little too round for my preference. Moved well with composure and balance.

2nd Armstrongs Lauralee Mystical Magic

A correctly made, smaller bitch who possesses all the correct breed characteristics, although for me she lacks a little in overall substance. She has the darkest of eyes, an immaculate front and super fore chest. Moved fluidly and with great enthusiasm

3RD Melbourne Murray and Fitzpatrick Diheath Marta

Class 16 Limit Bitch 6 entries 2 ab

1st Armstrongs Lauralee Magic Image

A quality, classy looking young bitch with the most stunning outline when stacked. One of the few here today with the correct length of upper arm, giving her textbook shoulder placement and a beautiful reach of neck, something so lacking in the breed. Enviable ribbing with a solid topline leading to well balanced hindquarters. Plenty of reach and drive on the side profile, and super sound coming towards me, I would prefer a little more width in her rear movement . That said she is a quality youngster I liked very much. CC RBIS

2ND Ellriches Malrich Foxtrot

Black tri with the same sire as my first placed bitch but is totally different in type. For me she lacks a little in bone and substance, although she is ultra feminine. Presented in beautiful condition, movement was sound, although a little erratic at times. Lovely ribs and dark eye.

3rd Melbourne Murray and Fitzpatricks Diheath Elvis

Class 17 Open Bitch 3 entries 2 ab

1st Blevins Ch Ir ch Blevwil Ivana Twinkle

A well-known, top winning bitch with many breed qualities to admire. From the ringside, I have often questioned why she is such a popular choice, but having had the opportunity of going over her today, it is easy to see why. A fit workmanlike bitch with good ground clearance and no exaggerations. Acceptable in head, although I preferred the expression of the class winner, Flashy on the move with plenty of animation. Undoubtedly a bitch with much to admire RBCC
