Boston & District Canine Society (Championship Show) – 5th July 2026

I would like to thank the officers and committee for the invitation to judge their show. Special thanks to Jill and Kendra, my stewards, the day was a long one for them with two judges and multiple breeds in their ring. To the exhibitors, I appreciate your entries and your great outlook and attitude after what was already a long day for you and the dogs. It was a day that just seemed to be getting hotter. Thank you for your great sportsmanship. I thoroughly enjoyed judging this wonderful and fascinating breed. 

There were no males in the lower classes and with that my first class in this breed was Limit Dog. 

Limit Dog (2,0a)

1ST Grimshaw’s - Sharpuggles Blow Me Down – 19-month-old dilute with head of good proportions, flat skull with a broad skull, correct bite, pigmentation and a clear medium sized eye, ears small, enough wrinkling. There is plenty of detail in this head. Presenting a square outline, standing on compact feet he has a broad chest of good depth, well laid shoulders with the topline dipping slightly behind withers and rising over loin. Moderately angulated behind, his profile movement is balanced and he moved soundly. Harsh coat. 

2ND Gardner’s - Mijujo Flat White 2 year old male with masculine head of good proportions, flat broad skull and moderately broad muzzle, correct bite and pigmentation, with clear almond shaped eye with ample wrinkling. Squarely built he stands a little narrow in front and the placement of the right fore needs to be watched. Well laid shoulder good depth of chest and moderately angulated behind. Topline rising over loin, which was more evident on the move. Profile movement balanced. Harsh coat. Presented and handled well.

1ST Grimshaws - Ch Chernyi Chizh Baloved by All at Sharpuggles (Imp Rus) This four year old quality male is masculine with head of good proportions, broad flat skull and moderately broad muzzle, with correct ears and clear medium sized eyes, ample wrinkling all adding the lovely detail in this head. Standing well fore and aft on compact feet, he has good bone and is squarely built with desired topline which is evident stacked and on the move. He is moderate in all aspects, nothing is overdone. With well laid shoulders and a moderately angulated rear which is strong and muscular. Combined, all these qualities translate into a balanced profile movement which is also sound coming and going. Harsh coat. Shown in prime condition and well presented. Best Male and Best of Breed. 

2ND Rowlands - Ch Jolerob One for The Road to Meixiu. 3 and a half year old quality male has a masculine head of good proportions, flat broad skull, good ears and clear almond shaped eyes with ample wrinkling. Gives a little more on the leg than 1 but presents a squarely built outline, standing well fore and aft. The chest is broad and of a good depth, with well laid shoulders and ample angulations behind. To be critical would prefer a shade more definition of the desired topline on the stack, but it is more evident on the move. The movement is balanced and true in all aspects. Harsh coat. Shown in excellent condition, well-presented and handled. Res Best Male

1ST Morris - Ashowai Rockin Robin . 7-month-old feminine with head of good proportions, broad flat skull and moderately broad muzzle, correct bite and pigment. Neat ears, clear almond shaped eyes, she is squarely built and stood positively on compact feet. Broad chest and ample development for her age, she has a well laid should and moderate rear angulations. Correct topline both stacked and on the move. Profile movement was balanced and sound overall. 

2ND Grimshaw - Sharpuggles Wednesday Girl. A little older than 1st, at 9 months this female had a well-proportioned head, broad flat skull and moderately broad muzzle and good pigmentation. Squarely built she has good angulations fore and aft and a slight rise to her topline both stacked an on the move. Gives a little more on leg than one, needs to watch placement of left fore on the stack and just a shade longer in loin. Her movement is balanced and sound overall. Well presented and handled.

1ST Rowlands & Bradley - Eki Zimurrak Sugar Drift (Imp Esp) This quality black female is 9 months old and my critique starts with “Beautiful”. She is feminine with a well-proportioned head, broad skull and muzzle, correct bite and pigmentation. Lovely ears and moderate wrinkling which when all combined I saw that scowling expression. She is squarely built and stands on compact feet, good bone and her topline has that slight dip behind the withers which then rises gently over the loin. With her well laid shoulders and moderately angulated rear translate into a well-balanced profile movement with good rear movement, the front action could be a little cleaner coming to. Harsh coat. Well-presented and handled. Best Bitch & Best Puppy

1ST Gardner’s - Mijujo Costa Fortune Coming up 2 years of age, she is feminine, head of correct proportions with correct bite, clear almond shaped eye, ample wrinkling and correct pigmentation. She is squarely built with ample bone, good angulations fore and aft, moderate in all aspects. A broad chest of good dept, standing well fore and aft with topline slightly dipping behind withers and rising over loin which is evident on the stack and the move. Balanced profile movement and sound behind, front action could be a little cleaner coming to. Harsh coat. Well presented and handled. Res Best Bitch.

1ST Jolly’s - Shira Victory Zazzing It Up for Doolish This four-and-a-half-year-old is feminine with good head proportions, broad flat skull and moderately broad muzzle, correct bite, clear almonds shaped eye. She is squarely built, with good bone giving a little more on leg, but stands well fore and aft on compact feet. She is moderately angulated and the profile movement is balanced and sound overall. Harsh coat. Handled and presented well.

1ST Hargreaves & Allsopp - Ashowai Truly Scrumptious. 7 month old with a feminine head, broad flat skull and moderately broad muzzle, correct bite, pigmentation, small ears and clear almond shaped eye. With ample bone and chest development she stood squarely on compact feet with the desired topline. Profile movement was balanced and sound in rear, front action needs to settle. Well presented and handled. Best Special Beginners and later placed 4th in the Special Beginners Group.
