Bath Canine Society

Breed: Pekingese

Firstly I would like to extend my thanks to the Bath Canine Society for the invitation to judge my beloved breed at one of my favourite championship shows of the year. I would also like to say a thank you to my steward for the day. This show was the first time on grass for many of the dogs present and also the first show in the heat that came all of sudden that week, as such I did make allowances for this on the day. I feel like I have to point out one area of concern that I hope all breeders and exhibitors do take into consideration going forward and that is that some of the dogs present were lacking spring of rib.

Puppy Dog

1st – Easdon & Martin Mr A & Mr P, Yakee Dear Jon 8 month old light red of a good size. Wide shallow head with dark eyes. Good spring of rib, Heavy boned sound front, short back with a high tail set. He moves like he owns the ring. This boy will be a star in the future pleased he was second in the puppy group later on.

Post Graduate Dog

1st – Small Drs N,S,C & G, Swaggerboot The Rocket just out of junior very sound. Good head with dark eye, well boned front with good spring of rib, high tail set. Moved well and is in good condition.

2nd – Wilsher Miss A, Dominic Lee Pekinskiy (IMP UKR) A wide shallow head, compared to 1st lacking in legbone. He is a bigger dog then I would prefer but he was presented well.

Limit Dog

1st – Thomas Mrs A, Meritorous Inky Illusion this dog is of correct size very compact. Wide shallow head with a dark eye and high tail set. He moved with style and should have a good future ahead of him.

2nd – Easdon & Martin Mr A & Mr P, Yakee I’m a Dandy another dog of good size very similar to 1st. Good head, level back high tail set. Moved well and was in good condition.

1st - Oades Mrs B, Swaggerboot Girl Power at Brentoy I have watched this bitch blossom, she has a classic head with dark eyes. Heavy boned front with great spring of rib.
