Driffield Championship Dog Show

Russian Toys

I would like to thank the Driffield Society for inviting me to judge Russian Toys at their Golden Anniversary Show held at Stafford Showground for the first time. Also, to my two super stewards, Colin and Michelle, for their excellent support and for making my judging so much easier.

I had a great day judging this lovely breed and I would like to thank my exhibitors for giving me such a fantastic entry of 39 dogs and for accepting my decisions with grace and sportsmanship.

BV and was shortlisted in the Toy Veteran Group.

Class 291 MPD (7,1)

Quite a difficult class to judge as they were all just babies. Some were really shy on the table and I am sure lots of training will rectify this.

1st: 861 MCLEOD, Mr & Mrs R S & J E, Garnox Lewis At Dunline. A 7 month old long haired black and tan. Head is small and well carried. Ears are large with adequate fringing. Tail carriage is correct. Moved well with head carried high.

2nd: 849 GRAHAM, Mr Jim, Garnox Harris. 7 month old long haired black and tan. From the catalogue I noticed that this is the litter brother of first placed. Though larger than his brother, much of the same applies. Seemed overawed by the occasion but I am sure he will improve with training.
