Darlington Dog Show Society Ltd

My thanks to the Society for inviting me to judge and to my efficient, happy stewards for all their hard work. A small but quality entry, sadly further depleted by two absentees but I was very happy with my winners. I haven’t commented on dentition as it was correct in all exhibits.

1st Pierpoint’s Chepam Grenadier – 2 yr old, up to size but balanced all though. Great masculine head of good proportions with parallel planes, dark, well placed eye. Nice width and depth of muzzle. Ear placement is correct but carriage could be better. He has a good length of neck and good shoulder placement, adequate forechest and is well ribbed with good depth to brisket. Level topline which he held on the move, well muscled all through. Excellent coat texture and presentation. Took a little while to settle on the move but when he did he was athletic and driving from behind with good flow and moderate reach. DCC & BOB

1st Brown’s Chepam Salut d’Amour – 7 mths old and a little overawed today as the tent was snapping in the wind but she coped well. She was a little shy to go over but with sympathetic management by the handler I was able to get full hands on her. Lovely feminine head, developing well with good planes, dark eye and good ear placement and carriage. Nice length of neck and good forechest and nice lay of shoulder, she is a little high on the leg at present but that will no doubt change as she matures. Well angulated behind and very well muscled for her age, good coat texture for a puppy. Excellent side movement when she settled, a little wayward up and back but the tent noise didn’t help that! BP

1st Schofield’s Theadora Medusa vd Dambaern Hoeve at TheanaB – 4 yrs old, nice head size and proportions, lovely dark eye and expression, good ear set but could use them to more advantage. Good body proportions, would prefer a touch more forechest, level topline held well on the move. She wasn’t very animated moving today but steps were good when she got going. I found out after judging that there was a very good reason for both her and her owner to be out of sorts so thank you for staying to exhibit.

1st Jones’ Nikolaev Roussanne at Abbiville – 5 yrs old, fabulous strong but feminine head of correct proportions and parallel planes which balanced well with her body shape and proportions, good width of muzzle. Dark, well set eye and good earset and carriage. Compact, square body with level topline, good depth and width of ribs, well muscled all over and moved with purpose and drive in all directions. Looks like she could work all day. Great coat texture and presented well. Close up for BOB. BCC

2nd Bruintjes- Schaap’s Ir Ch Lux Ch UK Ch Fleur Sennah vd Vanenblikhoeve Jun Ch Lux NLjch Bel Jun – almost 2 yrs old, feminine head but would prefer it slightly stronger to complement her body. Lovely dark eye and sweet expression, good ear set and carriage. I liked her lay of shoulder and length of neck, well ribbed, a touch long in loin for complete balance. Well muscled all over, nicely angulated and moved well in all directions. RBCC
