Welsh Springer Spaniel Club

Breed: Spaniel (Welsh Springer)

Welsh Springer Spaniel Club Championship Show 5th September 2026

Thank you to exhibitors for a nice entry, to the Club for its hospitality and to my steward Martin. I thoroughly enjoyed my day. I was pleased with my winners. On the minus side, I did find a few examples of features creeping into the breed that are not those of a Welsh Springer; heavy domed heads often with long ears, short legs and some lacking the well- muscled, deep second thighs which helps give the push and drive on the move. It is important that we retain breed type and features that make our breed unique and not just any other spaniel.
