Northern Counties Dachshund Association Championship Dog Show 2026 - Dachshund (Smooth Haired)

I would like to thank the exhibitors for a lovely entry of 52 with very few absentees. A special thank you to my excellent hard working Steward, Carolyn Hall, for her administrative support and assistance. This was a quality entry with bitches having the greater depth of quality in particular. 


Minor Puppy Dog 3

1. Andison’s Clentry Crash and Burn. 7 months. I was really taken with this super young man who is well grown and mature for his age. I admired his super proportions. Pleasing neck and well placed shoulders. Well bodied and secure topline, good for croup. Sufficient gound clearance Moved very well with such mature assurance. BPG & RCC. 

2. Jenning’s Jenivons Time To Shine. 6 ½ clearly very promising. Liked his size and proportions. Appealing head and neck, enough forechest for age. Holds a secure topline and of lovely ratios. Another very promising youngster. 

3. Dalton’s Mumuland’s Vine & Dandy.

Puppy Dog 2

1. Ashby’s Jaxinorydax Screenshot Dis. 9 months. A nicely balanced dog whose profile impresses on the stand. Balanced lean head contains correct eyes. Well bodied and good for angulations. Impressive hindquarters produced easy, accurate movement.  

2. Taylor’s Bulldaxit’s Armani My Way. 11 months. Heavier built and not as refined in head as 1. Super dentition. Body is well ribbed; secure topline. Moves positively, particularly when making full use of his well angulated hindquarters.  


Junior Dog 3

1. Starkey’s Fredanna Moonlight Cypres At Honoura. 13 months. Well grown and typically a teenager! In super B/T coat presented in great condition. Impressive head and expression. Shoulders are well set. He moved with great reach and drive. 

2. McDonald’s Hapdach Fixin The Breeze With Bensark. 14th months. Red coat in super condition. He produces an impressive profile. Head is clean with the correct ratio of foreface, excellent keel and chest. Would prefer a tad more length of neck. Sound mover.

3. Taylors Bulldaxit’s Armani My Way.

Yearling Dog 2,1

1. Hinwoods Longmel Cointreau Truffle. 19 months. Shaded red, maturing nicely. Pleasing head and expression, well balanced front, correct for ribbing and overall depth. Hindquarters are well angulated; just a tad untidy in front. OK for neck. Holds a secure topline at all times. 

Post Gratuate Dog 1 

1. Nagy’s Gravelous Harbour. 2 ½ years. Good dentition and kind dark eyes. I really would like more length to neck. Shoulders are OK. Body has well sprung ribs. Good feet. Tended to pace on the move. 

Limit 3

1. Taylor’s Hampdach Cheeky Chappy At Whitewebbs. 3 years. Red in super coat and condition. Of super type and he is well balanced. Conical head with correctly shaped and placed eyes and ears, aiding typical expression. Enough neck into a well angulated forequarters. Ribs extend well back and hindquarters are nicely angulated. Super mover which gave him the edge over 2. 

2. Ashby’s Rayol Dallas Cowboys At Jaxinorydax JW. Smart Red and balanced of good size substance. Pleasing head and well set ears. moderate ears. OK for set of neck. Ribbed well back and strong short loin. Sound mover holding a secure topline. Close Call. 

3. Hinwood’s Lonmel Cointreau Truffle.

Open Dog 5,1

1. Rycroft’s Ch Jacksondax Hornet Hurrah At Trisensara JW ShCex OSW. Mature 4 year old B/T dog who immediately catches the eye and made a tremendous impact when entering the ring. Masculine head has a super expression. Well-constructed front. Ribbed well back, with a strong body. On the move he covered the ground with purpose and style, holding a pleasing outline throughout. In the challenge he reconfirmed his quality, and excelled to secure the Dog CC.

2. Hinwood’s Adnerb Sheer Nanagins At Longmel. 5 years. Another super masculine B/T male with a mature head and much to admire. Well-set dark eyes, clean neck, and a good front. Nicely laid shoulders with well-placed elbows. Enough clearance throughout and sufficient ribbing. Secure topline. Moved well. 

3. Binks’s Ch Cedavoch Ocean Storm.

Veteran Dog 1

1. Heels’s Ch Daxanory Menacing Dennis. 7 years and in amazing condition. Masculine head contains super dentition. Dark eyes and correct balance of foreface. Neck is well placed into well laid shoulders. Well boded. Correctly angulated hindquarters produced great drive. Moved with the enthusiasm of youngster.  

Special Beginners 4,1

1. Mill’s Cedavoch Squall.B. 8 months. Feminine and I admired her profile. Pleasing head properties. Good keel and chest. Moved very well fore and aft. Presented in first class condition. Best SpB.

2. Turton’s Aveyon for Damoradaxies. D. 2 years. Produces a balanced shape. Nice for size. Well placed lengthy neck. On the move he just needs to settle. He holds a secure topline. Well handled. 

3. Nagy’s Luckytails Sansa B. 

Minor Puppy Bitch 4

1. Jennings’s Jenivon’s Standing Ovation. 6 months. Just a baby but clearly very promising. Loved her overall size and balance. Feminine throughout with ample bone for age. She is well off for neck and shoulders and well angulated throughout. Super on the move both in profile and coming and going. There is much to like. 

2. McNaughton’s Cedavoch Rainfull. 8 months and all of the above comments apply to this youngster. She also produces a super outline, has a good neck and shoulders and is well bodied. It was difficult to split these two lovely youngsters but preferred the profile moment of 1. 

3. Renton’s Jenivon’s Sweet Sympathy at Thistlehound. 

Puppy Bitch 2


1. Small’s Clentry Walking in Memphis. 8 months. This youngster really caught my eye from the offset. She is decidedly feminine and mature for age. Beautiful head proportions. Well placed lengthy neck into a correct front. Ample forechest and is deep. Body is already mature and well ribbed with nicely rounded hindquarters. On the move she really comes into her own. Must have a bright future ahead. BPB & BPIB.

2. Ashby’s Jaxinorydax Causing Chaos. 9 months. B/T. Another very nice youngster, unlucky to meet 1. Notwithstanding she has so much to like. Super head and shoulders, just a tad soft in topline at present. Well angulated rear assembly. Moved with style. 

Junior Bitch 2

1. Somerton’s Jaxinorydax Gossip Girl. Litter sister to 2nd in pb. 9 months. Well-proportioned and portrays a very nice shape on the stand. Totally balanced and good for size. Correct lay of shoulders and a pleasing forehand reach. Nicely angulated rear. Should do well. 

2. Lucas’s Tramardachs Holy Trinity. 12 months. Attractive feminine head of good length, well laid shoulders. Overall pleasing for type being well-balanced and proportioned. She moved well but topline just needs to settle. 

Yearling Bitch 2,1

1. Hinwood’s logmel Christmas Truffle. 19 months. Nicely maturing. Good length of neck into a very good front with plenty of forechest, deep keel and ample heart room. Secure topline and nice rounded rear. She moved very well in both directions. Pity she stood alone.  

Post Graduate Bitch 3

1. Rycroft’s Raajput’s Dancer Diva With Trisensara JW. B/T. 21 months. Very smart and balanced in profile. Feminine. Appealing head; good dentition. Appealing dark eyes Well ribbed. Nice reach of neck, into well laid shoulders. On the move she was smart and confident. Just a tad untidy going away. In super condition. 

2. Turton’s Jaxinorydax Beautifulies For Damoradaxies. 2 years. Well built and I felt she would benefit from less body weight. Pleasing head, good for shoulder placement. Good prosternum and underline. Topline become a tad soft on the move. 

3. Nagy’s Luckytails Sansa. 

Limit Bitch 8,1

1. Ashby’s Rayol Pumpkin Pie at Jaxinorydax. 3 years. Red. At first sight she appealed for balance, ground clearance and a clean outline. Feminine head contains super shaped dark eyes. Long neck set into well laid shoulders. Excellent ribbing, topline and correct loin. Prominent prosternum. Presented in super condition. Stunning profile movement gave her the edge over 2.  

2. Jennings’ Melriding True Colours at Jenivon. 18 months, typey youngster and feel there is more to come. Appealed for size and balance. Feminine head set on a lengthy neck. Body is well constructed and presented in excellent condition. Just needs to firm up in hind movement.

Open Bitch 7.2

1. Andison’s Clentry Forget Me Not. Mature, well-presented 3-year-old illustrating a clean, typical outline and overall balance. She excels in proportions and ground clearance. Long, feminine head. Upon further examination, she has a well-placed neck and clean front, complemented by well-constructed hindquarters. She clearly comes into her own on the move, being positive and free, displaying effortless reach and drive. She is of a lovely disposition. Pleased to award her the BCC & BOB. 

2. Mill-Jones, Moses & Williams’ Cwmdarhian Pina Colada. 1½ years. Red. Another stylish, well-balanced young lady. Well made for her young age and producing clean lines throughout. Feminine head of good length, which aids a lovely expression. Excellent neck and front, with balanced hindquarters. Super for ground clearance. Admired her body and overall condition. She comes into her own on the move, although not yet matching the rear movement of 1. She is clearly of Champion quality, with time on her side  

3. Kerry’s Hampdach Belle Returns To Kireton.

Veteran Bitch 3,1

1. Stark’s Ch Anderbs Won Vision Of Gobannium JW OSW VW. A lovely 7-year-old feminine bitch with a very pleasing overall outline and beautiful shape in profile. She holds a firm, secure topline, has excellent angulation throughout, and moves with the enthusiasm and ease of a youngster. Good front, deep chest and correct ground clearance, all contributing to her well-balanced construction. Presented in outstanding condition and shown to perfection, she moved soundly whilst maintaining her lovely profile at all times. In a fabulous entry of quality bitches, I was delighted to award her such honours. Congratulations to her owner on presenting her in such excellent condition. RCC & BVIB.

2. Tomilinson’s Bensarka Emerald Isle To Melisdax. 7 years. Feminine, of pleasing breed type with a good outline. Good for head. OK for length of neck. Possesses many attractive qualities and presents an overall balanced picture. On occasions she loses her secure topline. She moved well.
