Tibetan Spaniel - Judges Report 

I would like to express my sincere thanks to all the exhibitors for such a superb entry of 60 dogs, with very few absentees.

In addition, my grateful thanks go to Brian Summerbell and Kevin Yeates, my very hard-working stewards, for their excellent support and administration.

SBD/B (3 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: Emery’s Oldcharm Save My Love. Dog. 4 years. Presented in super coat. Medium size, stands on hare shaped feet. Head of pleasing balance, moderate neck. Expressive dark eyes. Body of good length, tail high set. Moved very well. Correct for coat. Best Special Beginner.

2nd: Watkins’s Amcross Pandit. Dog. 9 years. Lovely expression with a wonderful eye and pigment. Well boned and correct feet. In super condition for age. Not the movement of 1.

3rd: Watkins’s Amcross Parti Puzzle.

PD (3 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: Morton’s Linsdown Remus. 8 months and clearly a lot to like. Proportioned head is maturing nicely. Skull has slight dome, muzzle of medium length and developing. Bright, dark brown eyes, ears quite high set. Secure neck, shoulders well laid, small hare-shaped feet. Well ribbed body, firm in topline, tail high set and carried well. Silky coat of pleasing texture.

JD (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: Smith’s Parloueve Happy As Larry With Lacoral. 11 months. A well-developed youngster of correct size and of balanced proportions. Masculine, typey head contains dark expressive eyes with a good mask. Well-cushioned muzzle. Lovely forechest, good front and well-bodied. Excellent topline and tail set, held well. Silky coat and faultless presentation. Stands on good hare-feet. Moved straight and true particularly in the challenge where this excelled. RCC.

PGD (6 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: Emery’s Lacoral Cosmos. 22 months. Produces a balanced outline. He has a good lay of shoulder, an attractive head and expression with dark, oval eyes. Good bite, high ear set, and excellent depth and width of chin. Correct for pigment. Well-balanced front and rear angulations. Moved very well. 

2nd: Croucher’s Bruesown Kailama. 18 months old. Liked his size. Pleasing head proportions, with the correct length of muzzle and plenty of width and depth to the chin. Strong neck leading into well-laid shoulders. Sturdy legs and tight elbows. Secure topline. Strong quarters of desired angulation. Notwithstanding his many virtues, he did not help himself today by being rather uncooperative, which was a pity. 

3rd: Bevis’s Lacoral Duke Of York At Starlance JW.

LD (8 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: Gripp’s Malia Festive Spice By Karma. 2 years and full of himself! Head with correct length of muzzle, excellent width and depth to chin. Super oval dark eyes; dark pigmentation. Well placed ears. Enough neck, well laid shoulders. Elbows close in. Nicely bodied but not overdone; well sprung ribs and strong loins. Well set tail. Smart and sound on the move once settled.  

2nd: Parkes’s Kiiramanna Diamond Eyes At Paralde (Imp Fin). A pleasing 2-year-old with dark, oval eyes set in a well-balanced head. He has sufficient muzzle, correct chin and good cushioning. Correct moderate neck and shoulder placement; secure topline. His unexaggerated furnishings enhance the overall picture. Moved very soundly.  

3rd: Keepence & Keyte’s Oldcharm Peaky Love For Alandobel JW.

OD (4 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: Prouve & Moran’s Castafiore Sevastyan. 2 ½ years and completely new to me. A well-balanced dog with excellent overall construction. His head is small and in proportion to his body, with correct length of muzzle and an excellent dentition. Good width and depth of chin. Strong, moderate neck. Well-laid shoulders, tight elbows and strong legs. I particularly admired his height-to-length proportions. Ribbing extends well back and has sprung ribs. Tail correctly set, well plumed and carried beautifully at all times. Unexaggerated volume of coat. Extremely sound on the move with brisk, ground-covering action which immediately captures the eye. DCC (his second I was told) and BOB.

2nd: Morton’s Linsdown Gibran. 3 years. Another super young dog. I particularly noted his super quality and masculinity. Lovely head with pleasing muzzle and chin. Ears of medium size and well set. Good dentition. Moderate neck, of enough length, well-laid shoulders and moderate bone. Well-shaped hare feet. Well bodied and ribbed back. Sound, honest and purposeful on the move. Presented in super coat and condition. 

3rd: Cooper’s Ch & Nld Ch Dedicated To Legend Is Born Susu (Imp).

VD (4 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: Quest’s Lilileian Louis Vuitton JW Sh.CM ShCEx VW (Imp Fin). 9 years. Masculine, sound and well balanced. Admired his accurate free movement maintaining his topline throughout. Masculine head with correct skull-to-muzzle proportions and well-shaped, dark eyes. Correct reach of neck into well-laid shoulders, with suffice upper arm length and slope. Deep chest and good ribbing. Plenty of coat. Moved very well. 

2nd: Penny’s Ferncott Rave On. Sh.CM. 13 years. In amazing condition and carrying the correct amount of coat. I particularly liked his size and shape, with a well-set neck and good overall proportions. Pleasing relatively small head gives super expression, with good width of muzzle. Secure topline and high-set tail. Excellent movement, covering the ground well, and he was clearly enjoying himself throughout. Close call. 

3rd: Thompson’s Ch Susu Prince Charming ShCEx VW.

PB (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: Lemon’s Parloueve Genuine Love. 11 months. My notes state - ‘fabulous’. Extremely well balanced with correct length of neck, level back and ribbs developing well and carried well back. Short firm loin and tail high set on. Nicely proportioned head with feminine expression; super eyes and ear set. Defined stop and cushioned muzzle. Well made throughout. I note she is litter sister to my best Puppy Dog. She must have a promising future. BPIB.

2nd: Shoemark’s Souska I Belong. 10 months. Another nice one. Lovely feminine head and expression. Good dentition. Ample width and depth to chin. Moderate neck into nicely laid shoulders. Well-developed ribbing for age. Correctly set and carried tail. Moderate hindquarters. Produces a lovely silhouette in profile. On the move, she was sound but spoiled herself by persistently pulling on the lead, which detracted from the overall picture.

 JB (4 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: Simper, Scoates & Dawson’s, Clydum Mighty Magic. 14 months. Of a beautiful size and balance. Nothing exaggerated. Super feminine head on a well set neck portraying a super expression from those beautiful feminine dark eyes. Correctly set ears nicely feathered. Well laid shoulders with elbows close. Secure topline; high set tail. Moved with typical action. Correct amount of coat. 

2nd: Lemon’s Parloueve Mystical Magical. 1 year old. Eye-catching B/T. youngster who I felt was giving a lot away to 1 in maturity. Feminine head and expression with good skull to muzzle proportions, nice dark eyes, very good ears; correct dentition and chin. Moving true when coming towards, but when viewed in profile she looks even more impressive. Most promising.   

3rd: Cooper’s Susu The Show Must Go On JW.

PGB (11 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: Lemon’s Llewodbach Love Of Mine At Oldcharm. 19 months old and pleasing to go over. Lovely head and expression, Feminine head with dark oval shaped eyes, good length of muzzle, super mouth and defined chin. Correct moderate neck. Body has good ribbing. Sure topline. Tail is well set. Accurate, mature and confident on the move which ultimately gave her the edge over 2 in this large, well contested class. 

2nd: Simper, Scoates & Dawson’s Clydum Magic At Midnight. 14 months. Ideal for size and coat. Stunning head and expression, with plenty of width and depth to chin. Correct bite. Dark eyes and pigmentation. Moderate neck and good shoulders. Good ribbing and short loins. Moderate in quarters, with plumed tail correctly set. In such a close call, the final down and back proved decisive. At this crucial moment, she just seemed to lose a little concentration, which affected her movement and ultimately decided the placing between these two nice youngsters.

3rd: Croucher’s Bruesown Amala.

LB (8 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: Lemon’s Oldcharm My Kinda Love. 20 months. Her head is small in proportion to her body and displays lovely pigmentation, good eye shape, nice muzzle length, and good width and depth of chin. She stands on excellent-shaped feet and is pleasing to go over. She has plenty of coat. In this class she was alert and moving well, but unfortunately, in the challenge she did not maintain the same level of animation and movement.

2nd: Morton’s Parloueve Promise Me. 2 years. Ok for skull which contains the most beautiful eyes which cannot fail to capture attention. Well-made and of good substance she is certainly a dual purpose girl. She holds a level topline, high set tail is carried well. Stands on good feet. Moved well.  

3rd: Prouve & Moran’s Castafiore Gisele.

OB (8 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: Lemon’s Parloueve Love Me Better. 4 years. An exceptionally feminine, well-balanced and mature bitch with pleasing overall outline and proportions. Attractive, correctly proportioned head with the desired skull shape, high-set ears and a slight well-defined stop. Her muzzle is correctly proportioned and well cushioned. Super eyes. Correct neck, well laid shoulder and decent front. Secure topline. High set tail. I found her to be beautifully constructed and of balanced proportions. Delighted to award her the CC which, from the response, I soon learnt it was her crown – congratulations! BCC.

2nd: Simper, Scoates & Dawson’s Clydum Country Lass. 3 years. An eye-catching, feminine bitch of correct size, type and overall shape, all closely meeting the required standard. Lovely head with good dentition, chin, width and depth of muzzle, complemented by dark, expressive eyes aiding a soft expression. Correct neck leading into a well-made body. Good bone, legs and feet. Secure topline; firm loin and well-bent stifles. Tail well set and carried correctly. Moved freely, with ease and purpose, maintaining her pleasing outline throughout. A quality bitch with much to like. RCC.  

3rd: Smith’s Ch Tibbiestars Tutti Frutti At Lacoral JW.

VB (6 Entries) Abs: 2

1st: Rice’s Ricox All About Love JW ShCEx OSW VW. 9 years. Scores in head qualities. Pleasing front and rear angulations and in lovely body condition. Good bone and feet. Correct coat and in super condition. She moved very well. BVIB.

2nd: Penny’s Chenrezi Ti Amo. 7 years. Lovely outline and nicely balanced. I just preferred the eyes and expression of 1. Well-laid shoulders, secure topline and short, muscular loins. Best mover in the class. In super coat and condition.

3rd: Short’s Ch Malia Summer Memories.
