Blackpool and District Canine Society Championship Show 2026

Toy Group

G1: Lovel's Ch Lovetrac Banksy (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, D)

Clearly at the zenith of maturity, excelling in coat, body and overall proportions, yet remaining every inch a Toy Spaniel and not overdone in any way. Masculine head of excellent breed type, telling its own story through that soft, sweet expression, enhanced by large, dark captivating eyes. Well-balanced foreface with excellent cushioning completes the picture. Well-set set neck of good length, gently arched into well-laid shoulders. Impressive angulations fore and aft. His richly coloured chestnut and pearly white Blenheim markings are beautifully distributed. He maintained a secure topline on the move, with a well-carried tail and proud deportment which caught the eye as he floated effortlessly around the Group ring. On the day, he presented a truly special picture, demonstrating all the qualities of an entirely worthy and popular Toy Group winner.

G2: Scourfield’s Pernikety Make Your Mark at Danton. (Miniature Pinscher, D).

A special young dog, son of the famous Ch Hawksflight Hot Pursuit, and gaining his Champion title on the day. Clearly one with an exciting future ahead. He beautifully demonstrates the true, precise, unexaggerated hackney action that is so difficult to produce. Smart and immaculately presented, he entered the ring with the confidence of a circus performer—full of character, proud, self-assured and just a touch bold, all of which added greatly to his appeal.

He is the complete package, presenting a lovely square outline with clean shoulders, a well-arched neck and gently sloping topline flowing into a well-set tail. Already showing a nicely developed forechest, he has moderate bone, a good sweep of stifle and is balanced throughout. His narrow, well-proportioned head is enhanced by high-set ears, a strong, balanced muzzle and lovely eyes giving that keen, alert expression so typical of the breed. On the move he was a delight to watch, displaying accurate, rhythmic action while carrying himself with style, elegance and unmistakable ring presence.

G3: Hornby’s Bramerita Priceless, (Chihuahua – (Long Coat). B). This amazing young pocket rocket is clearly destined for great things. Still so young but remarkably mature in confidence and the quintessential Chihuahua attitude! So beautifully balanced throughout, she immediately catches the eye with her presence and self-assurance.

Upon examination she sports balanced bone, pleasing depth of rib, correct angulations and excellent proportions. Her well-domed head is complemented by correctly set ears, lovely-sized, expressive eyes and a lean muzzle, all producing typical, breed expression. She moved with a brisk, purposeful action and sported a quality coat to complete the picture. I thought her quite exquisite and exceptionally mature for her age. A truly special youngster. On the final day of the show, I was delighted to learn she was awarded Best Puppy In Show!

G4: Mrs K F & Miss K & Mr J Ryan & Roosens & Goessens Bel Ch Watchin' U Watchin' Me Daydream Believers (Imp Bel). (Papillon, B).

Completely new to me, but one who immediately captured my attention. She has a textbook head with a finely pointed foreface and appealing eyes. Her well-placed neck carries her head proudly on the move, creating a picture of grace and quality. Her outstanding, well-fringed ears epitomise the wings of a butterfly, and she uses them to full advantage. Constantly alert and expressive, this adds greatly to her charm.

Presented in a full coat of outstanding texture, it is wonderfully abundant without being intrusive. She has good depth of rib, a level topline, strong, well-angulated quarters and a super body. Handled with quiet confidence and professionalism, bringing out the very best in her and resulting in a super performance.
