Open Dog 6
A particularly high-quality class, with the majority either Champions or CC winners. I was really called upon by an array of excellent dogs before me, making for difficult decisions. Despite the challenge presented, I thoroughly enjoyed judging this class and greatly appreciated the sporting manner in which my decisions were accepted.
1. O’Connell’s Ch Rijobeau Rumours with Llennocor JW. A stunning B/T who was completely new to me but immediately caught my eye, particularly his balanced outline and confident showmanship. Masculine throughout, with a long, well-proportioned head, strong underjaw, and dark eyes. His muscular neck flows into well-laid shoulders, with an excellent front assembly, strong breastbone, and correctly placed forelegs. Moderately long in body with a firm topline, well-sprung ribs extending well back, a short loin, and a long, broad croup leading to strong hindquarters. Correct feet. Effortless on the move, with ideal ground clearance, he covered the grass with a free stride and powerful drive. Presented in excellent condition and shown to advantage. CC & BOB .
2. Ch Brogansian Fleetwood. 3 years. Another handsome, shapely B/T who instantly portrays a super outline. Masculine, houndy head of good length, with a conical skull all aid his almost arrogant expression. Reachy, well-arched neck flowing into clean, correctly placed shoulders with good return of upper arm. Well-ribbed with good depth of keel and firm topline. Nicely rounded rump, complemented by strong hindquarters. Moved out with freedom and ease, covering the ground with reach and drive. Not quite the ground clearance of 1, but notwithstanding, this was such a hard decision I had absolutely no hesitation in awarding him the RCC.
3. Mason’s Ch Teckeltown Surspicious Mind.
Special Beginners 4
1. Stuarts Shantallah Bailey. 1st PD & BSpB.
2. Downie’s Marvale Kingfisher. 4 years. Red dog. Nicely balanced and admired his overall bone and substance. Ample neck being well set. He is nicely bodied; well ribbed with good depth of keel. Moved very well. Close call.
3. Barr’s Bronia’s Annetta At Lowoods.
Minor Puppy Bitch 5
1. Hanney-Mitchell’s Bronia Lady Gaga. Promising 9-month-old puppy who, if there was one to take home, there was room in my car! Correct for size and very soundly constructed throughout. Presented a lovely outline in profile. Feminine, well-proportioned lengthy head gives a pleasing expression. Well-bodied, with an excellent prosternum and good sweep of keel. Tight elbows. Ribs carried well back. Firm, level topline; short loin. Correct front and rear angulation, which was reflected in her accurate, positive action. Naturally a little unsure at times, as expected at her age, but she was a serious consideration for the RCC. Pleased to award her BPB and BPIB.
2. Forge’s Normpug Midday Sun. 6 months and an absolute sweetheart. She is extremely well balanced, scores in head features, body and angulations. She seriously challenged her sympathetic handler but eventually it all came together on the move. Just needs time.

1. Stuart’s Shantallah Betty Boop. 7 months. Presented in good condition and enough ground clearance. Appealing head proportions and eye shape; correct scissor bite. Decent shoulder placement and length of upper arm. Was clearly to best mover in the class which just gave her the edge over 2.
2. Hudson’s Sharnphilly Thumberlina With Mutoko. 10 months, with a nice dark eye, correct bite. Good for depth of chest, spring of rib leading to a good length of loin. Lengthy neck. Held a secure topline on the move. Close call.

1. Mason’s Teckleltowns Power of Love. 14 months. B/T. Very mature and well made for age. Pleasing head contains lovely eyes and good dentition. Well placed neck of ample length. Good forechest. Well ribbed; secure top line. Balanced angulations aid impressive movement with ideal ground clearance. In super coat and condition. Best Junior.
2. Graham’s Portmoll Primadonna. 15 months. Presented in excellent coat and condition. Feminine, well-proportioned head. Would prefer a tad more length of neck. Liked her overall shape. She holds a secure topline and complimentary underline. Neat in front with lovely keel, good width and tight elbows. Produced pleasing, confident movement. Close call.
3. Lowood-Price’s Marvale Royal Procession at Alpezia.
Yearling Bitch 4,3

Impressive hindquarters with a good turn of stifle and well-let-down hocks. Presented in super coat and condition. A confident, accurate mover.

She has a strong neck, well laid into her shoulders, and a good forechest. She stands a little untidily at times. Well ribbed and presented in fit condition. 2. O’hare & Wilson’s Wakywilks Vitoria. Liked her overall size and balance. Pleasing head and eye gives a feminine expression. Well ribbed with a firm topline, which she maintained on the move. Adequate length of neck. A confident mover, particularly in profile, covering the ground well, although I would like to see a little more strength in rear action.
3. Kirkwood-Emery’s Marvale Rosefinch At Helydon.
Open Bitch 4,2
1. Hanny-Mitchell’s Bonia Clarisse. 4 years, A quality bitch of excellent overall proportions and balance, presented in outstanding hard condition. Feminine head with a lovely expression, enhanced by dark pigmentation and a strong jaw. Good length of neck flowing into well-laid shoulders, with plenty of forechest. Excellent width throughout with well-sprung ribs, a firm topline and a short, strong loin. Correctly constructed, well-muscled hindquarters completed the picture. Moved soundly and parallel both coming and going. When in profile she displayed an elegant, ground-covering stride with good reach and drive. BB & CC
2. Mason’s Marvale Crimson Sunbird At Teckeltown. 2 years. Another top-quality lady of excellent balance and proportions. Attractive feminine head with a pleasing expression, carried on a good length of neck flowing into well-laid shoulders. Well ribbed, with balanced angulation front and rear. Maintained a firm topline both standing and on the move. In the challenge she moved freely and confidently in profile; however, when making my final decision, I felt she could have been a little tidier going away. I was however, splitting hairs between two beautiful exhibits, so had no hesitation in awarding her the RCC. I was told afterwards that she had attainted her champion crown which came as no surprise.
Veteran Bitch 2
1. Lowood-Price’s Marvale Silver Sorceress At Louarne. 10 years. A lovely veteran lady who belies her years, presented in excellent muscle and hard condition. Beautiful in outline, maintaining a strong topline and correct underline. Pleasing, well-balanced feminine head with a lovely expression. Plenty of forechest. Moved steadily covering the ground with ease and demonstrating the soundness expected of such a well-constructed veteran. A credit to her owner and breeder. BV
2. Forge’s Normpug Tiger Eyes. 7 years. Appealing eyes with a kind expression, although I would prefer a little more overall length of head and neck. Well balanced throughout and presented in good condition. Moved steadily around the ring, maintaining her outline on the move. A pleasing veteran presented in good order.
