Championship Dog Show 2026

Miniature Pinscher

Thanks to the exhibitors for a nice entry with only one absentee! My grateful thanks to my hard working ring steward, Sheena O’Neill for her support in keeping it all running smoothly in addition to the administration of the on-line results iPad.

Minor Puppy Dog 3

1. Watkins & Bugden’s Hawksflight That’ll Do. 6 months. Nice for overall size. Masculine head. Liked his muzzle length. Good dentition. Appealing dark well shaped eyes aiding a keen expression. Ears are well-set but could be smaller. Straight legs and neat cat like feet. Well bodied and short coupled. Topline is slightly sloping. Hindquarters have a good turn of stifle. Moved very well. Very promising. BPIB

2. Hind’s Diamoneo The Prince. 7 months. Well-shaped head is well balanced with correct ear set, he has a lovey dark well shaped eye. Good dentition. He has a good reach of neck. Well bodied. Correct for topline and tail set. Spirited in character. Not quite the hackney action of 1.

3. Hind’s Diamoneo One Step Beyond.

Puppy Dog 2

1. McLoughlin’s Krieger’s Oor Brian. 8 months. Small and well proportioned. Masculine well balanced headpiece, expressive dark eyes and small well-set ears. Slightly arched neck fits nicely into his shoulders, firm topline with slight slope and good angulations front and back. I saw glimpses of coordinated hackney movement.

2. White’s Kingrock Raging Storm. 10 ½ months. Nicely mature. Good shoulders, good depth and breadth of chest. Straight front legs on neat feet. Body is nicely ribbed. Hindquarters to strengthen. Preferred the size and head of 1. Sound confident mover.

Junior Dog 1

1. Scourfield’s Pernickety Scaramouche At Danton. 12 months. An impressive, well-balanced red dog of ideal size and of lovely breed type. Masculine head with good muzzle length and excellent dentition. Dark, well-shaped eyes are correctly placed and give a keen expression. Well-set ears. Clean front assembly with straight forelegs and neat, cat-like feet. Well bodied and short coupled, he maintains the required outline. Topline gently slopes. Well-angulated hindquarters with correct turn of stifle. Presented in excellent coat and condition. A confident mover. RCC

Limit Dog 3

1. Scourfield’s Pernickety Make your Mark At Danton. – 12 months. A well-balanced youngster who immediately appealed for his overall quality and proportions. Masculine head without any suggestion of coarseness, with a pleasing expression from super eyes. Good reach of neck flowing into a firm topline, and well set and carried tail. For one so young, he was presented in excellent muscle and condition. Moved with accuracy and ease, showing the correct, unexaggerated hackney action together with the proud carriage and attitude typical of the breed. Pleased to award him the CC and BOB. He went on to represent the breed well in the Toy Group, when he was awarded Group 2.

2. Holman’s Adurus Golden Fleece. 3 years, Red. Larger and slightly heavier built than 1. Good head and eye. Well bodied. OK for topline. Square in proportion with good depth to the elbows. Straight front legs. Well-arched neck. Good breadth and depth of chest. Good proportions to head and muzzle, with dark oval eyes and neat ears. Well-angulated hindquarters having a good turn of stifle. Moved steadily coming and going.

3. McCloughlin’s Krieger’s Kilted Dragon.

Open Dog 5

1. James’s Ch Jaegerson The Edge JW. Mature, well-marked B/T presented in super condition with a gleaming coat. Masculine head of good length, neat well-set ears, dark well-shaped eyes and a bright, keen expression. Slightly arched neck flowing into well-laid shoulders, straight front with good depth and breadth of forechest. Well-bodied with good spring of rib, firm slightly sloping topline and balanced angulation throughout. Moved soundly, positively and accurately with good front lift and strong drive from behind. An attentive, eye-catching showman who, impressively, stands four square. I have no doubt he is a very worthy champion but today, in the challenge, he did not match the forehand of the two young contenders.

2. Westerman’s Ch Charpin Ottomatic JW ShCEx OSW. 4 years. Different in type to 1. I judged him as a youngster and awarded him the RCC, so it was a pleasure to meet a mature version today, and I was delighted to note he has since gained his title, which is thoroughly well deserved. He is of pleasing size and so well put together with an appealing head and eye; neat, small ears. He is nicely proportioned throughout and presents such a balanced picture when standing. Superbly schooled. Today, however, he was not as precise on the move as I have seen him, becoming somewhat untidy behind, particularly on the final go-around. In an agonising decision, this ultimately tipped the balance in favour of 1.

3. Urwin & James’s Jeagerson Kingsman JW.

Minor Puppy Bitch 2

1. Bevis, Bevis, Corr & Venezia & Mackie’s Hawksflight That’s A Wrap at Stecal. Six months old and a very promising baby, bred in the purple. I loved her overall shape and balance. Her feminine head is well proportioned, with well-shaped eyes, neat ears and good strength of underjaw. She has an excellent neck and shoulder assembly, a tidy front, and is compact and well bodied. She has a gently sloping topline. She just needs to strengthen in rear movement for which maturity is on her side.

2. Hind’s Diamoneo Wings of A Dove. 7 months. Another promising youngster of lovely size and pleasing overall balance. She is well bodied for her age. Her head is balanced and feminine. Of good pigmentation throughout. She moved well covering the ground confidently. As with the class winner, she just needs to strengthen in her rear movement as she matures. A close decision between two nice youngsters.

Puppy Bitch 1

1. Holman’s Pernickety Playgirl. 7 ½ well made for age. Presented a square outline. Lovely shaped head with well set neat ears, good dark eye and pigment; correct bite. Nicely bodied and well ribbed. Correct topline and well set tail. Gently arched neck flowing into well placed shoulders. Showed so well for such a youngster. Super coat.

Junior Bitch 1

1. King’s Adurus Constellation. 14 months. B/T with lots to like. Pretty and feminine and a super shape. Impressive for overall balance. Her head contains appealing dark eyes, couple with small, erect ears. Pleasing front assembly with clean legs and excellent feet. Correct neck flows into well-laid shoulders. The topline gently slopes to a well-set tail. Her hindquarters display well-bent stifles. Clearly most promising.

Post Graduate Bitch 3,1

1. King’s Adurus Constellation 1st in JB.

2. Cherry’s Danton Firefly at Shanandi. 14 months. Pleasing head and expression. She displays her lively nature! Pleasing outline and clean lines, complemented by a lovely neck and shoulders and a well-ribbed body. Super coat. Moved confidently with a free, positive action but she did become a tad wide behind going away from me but has time for this to settle.

Limit Bitch 1

1. Maskell’s Churchbank Fire Angel. Red. 2 years old. The more I saw her, the more I admired. She scores highly for shape and balance and is of a lovely size. She has a well-set neck, a super body, and impressive front and rear angulation. Well-bodied and presented in excellent order. Excellent head and expression with a keen eye and correct, small, well-set ears. Nicely arched neck leading into a good front assembly, with a gently sloping topline. Moved positively, with an air of determination. Pleased to award her a hotly contested RCC.

Open Bitch 5

1. Stracey’s Ch Krieger’s Kiss’n’Tell JW. 3 years. A mature, beautifully balanced bitch who is very well put together and presents a pleasing picture in profile. Clearly an optimum showgirl, she made a strong impression from the moment she entered the class. I particularly admired her head, which is so feminine yet retains the strength required and being of good length and proportions. Dark, well-shaped eyes complete the picture. Ears OK. She has a gently arched neck of good length flowing cleanly into her correct topline. Compact, well-made body. Hindquarters are well muscled. She showed beautifully in the challenge. When splitting hairs in the challenge for BOB, I just felt her forehand could have shown a touch more lift. That said, this should take nothing away from her many virtues, nor from the quality she so obviously possesses. A very worthy champion of real merit, and I was delighted to add another CC to what is already a prized collection. Congratulations.

2. Scourfield’s Danton Who Me. Quality 2½ years old of super shape and size. A well-balanced girl of lovely breed type. She has a fine head with good muzzle length. Lovely eyes and small, well-set ears. Nicely arched neck, a good front assembly, straight legs, and neat, cat-like feet. Well-bodied with well-sprung ribs but could be slightly shorter-coupled. Secure, slightly sloping topline with a good turn of stifle. Shown in excellent coat and condition. Unfortunately, she was not on her best behaviour today, which was a pity.

3. James’s Jaegerson Centrefold.

Veteran Bitch 1

1. King’s Adurus Crystal Ocean. Now seven years old, her owner reminded me after judging that I had awarded her a CC in her younger days. It was lovely to meet her again, and especially pleasing to see her in such wonderful condition. She is clearly still enjoying every moment in the ring. She produces a lovely, balanced outline and is of an ideal size and shape. She moves with a correct, effortless gait and is impressively accurate on the move. To add to her many accolades, she has such a happy, outgoing character, showing herself with confidence and enthusiasm throughout. A delightful exhibit who has matured beautifully whilst retaining all the qualities I had admired. BVIB
