Good rib and sufficient loin. Gently flowing topline with slight rise and well-rounded croup. Coat, presented in great condition.

2nd: Ayriss’s Boulevaya Rebel Yell. 6 months. Attractive youngster at 6 months and clearly a tad overalled but as the class progressed he started to gain confidence. Shapely body. Squarish head contains attractive eyes. Good shape to ears. OK for nose pad. Some width to muzzle. Not the bone and substance of 1. Needs time.

1st: Wildman & Davis’s Wildax Rowendale Houdini. Substantially made youngster of 7 months. He has the best of heads, with dark eyes, a square, padded muzzle and open nostrils. Fabulous ears used to advantage, all portraying a most endearing expression. Super bone for his age. Well-rounded ribs, short loin and a gentle roach to his topline. Strong hindquarters produced amazing power on the move which was free-flowing and precise. Immaculately presented. RCC (to add to his collection I was told later!).

2nd: Cutter & Forsyth’s Chelmbull Spitfire With Dapledan. 8 months old and, despite being a month older, he was giving a lot away in maturity to 1. Pleasing head shape, containing attractive dark eyes and correct ear placement. Muzzle to develop. Tidy front and shoulder placement, straight forelegs and decent feet. Well-bodied, with a gentle roach to his topline. Ideally, I would prefer him a tad shorter-coupled in body. Presented in excellent coat and condition.

1st: Timms’s Ch Olijah Going In Deep JW. A most impressive dark brindle, who epitomizes breed type and has that immediate ring presence which simply demands attention. His gleaming coat is of excellent quality. His head is particularly impressive, being of excellent proportions. His dark, captivating eyes, framed by those superb bat shaped ears beautifully aid such an outstanding expression. Correct layback of shoulder and classic short strong forelegs standing on good feet complete his impressive front construction. His hindquarters are strong and well developed, providing the power and substance required. An absolute showman in the ring, with the presence, attitude and breed character to make him stand out. He simply cannot be ignored. Beautifully presented, in fabulous coat and condition, and handled to perfection. CC, BOB & Group 3.

2nd: Cund’s Ch Esp Chelmbull Rocket Man WW. 5 years. A legendary dog whom I have long admired and respected over the years. Notwithstanding, I felt he was not quite at his best today and, being the first time I have ever had the privilege of judging him, I was genuinely disappointed that I could not see him at his very best on the day.

3rd: French’s Bincombefarm Morsmordre JW.

Her head qualities are worth a mention being balanced, containing expressive eyes and super ears, used to advantage. Excellent body, with her brindle colouring adding to the appeal. She moved so well, being free-flowing and purposeful.

2nd: Tuck’s Nortilly Chocks Away. 9 months, B/W. Although older than 1, I felt she was less mature, particularly in head. Body still to develop. Presented in super coat and condition. She was very smart on the move. Maturity will be on her side.

1st: Cole’s Membully Bedazzled With Myntie JW. A lovely fawn bitch, very typical and shown in super coat and excellent condition. She scores highly in head qualities, with a correct square head, good expression and well-set nicely carried ears. Well-bodied, with good bone, a true straight front just right for size. Correct topline with well-developed quarters. Movement absolutely sound, true and purposeful both ways. Ideally, I would prefer her a tad shorter coupled, but overall a very attractive, well-presented lady.

2nd: Tuck’s Bevanray Emma To Nortilly. 3 years. Fawn. Balanced, attractive and feminine. I liked her conformation and balance, with many of the same attributes as 1. In super coat and condition, she moved extremely well. This was a difficult decision between two very nice ones, but in splitting hairs, I just preferred the head and expression of 1. A very close call indeed.

LB (7 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: Krall’s Khanin Shine On Jafrak 2 years. A dark brindle who exudes style and, at first sight, immediately caught my eye. Upon examination, I was not disappointed. She has a beautifully shaped head, with dark eyes portraying such a feminine expression. Her super ears are well set and used to great advantage. Good reach of neck into strong shoulders, well-bodied with a typical topline, good tuck-up and rear angulation. She moved well, particularly in this highly competitive class and full of quality. Later in the challenge however, she did not move with quite the same freedom, which was a pity, as there was so much to admire in this lovely brindle, and she remains a bitch of considerable quality and style.

2nd: Barrett’s Frenchpride's Day Dreaming. 3 years. Another very nice brindle of pleasing size. Good skull containing attractive dark eyes. OK ears. Pleasing forequarters with a sturdy, arched neck set well into good shoulders. Well-made body. She stands on good feet. Sound movement, being true both coming and going.

3rd: Rankin’s Wildax Pocket Rocket.

OB (6 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: French’s Ch Bincombefarm Serpensortia JW An eye-catching 3 year old brindle pied, completely new to me, but the more I saw of her in this highly competitive class, the more she impressed. I found her markings attractive and full of character – she made me smile! She is of a super shape and size. I found her eyes captivating and was acutely aware they were following me! Her head is finished with a pleasing underjaw and nose, with super dark nostrils ideally placed. Her large ears are alert, well placed and used to advantage. Moderately set neck. Her body is well ribbed, with just a gentle rise over those strong loins to complete the picture. Upon further examination, I admired her clean, strong fore and hindquarters, which produce effortless and economical movement in every direction. Presented in superb condition with evident muscle tone. From amongst a plethora of stunning females, I had no hesitation in awarding her the CC.

2nd: Cund’s Ch Chelmbull Eternal Flame. 5 years. A lovely brindle lady who presents a most pleasing picture both from the front and when in profile. She stood square and balanced, with a lovely classic-shaped head, dark expressive eyes and excellent ear placement. Good reach of neck flowing naturally into strong shoulders and a deep chest. In profile, a gentle roach to the topline and ample tuck-up created the desired outline, with sound rear angulation and well-let-down hocks. These combined qualities aid excellent drive and purpose, with strong, economical movement both going and returning. RCC.

3rd: Brooks’s Ch Serenant Iron Butterfly.
